(Clearwisdom.net) On November 16, 2006, one of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) media mouthpieces, the Three Gorges Evening News Network newspaper, published a misleading article to defame Falun Gong and further incite hatred and misunderstanding.
The article blames Falun Gong for the tragic death of Mr. Zhao Guoyuan from Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province, who took his own life by taking poison. The article never once mentioned that Mr. Zhao's mental and physical health improved after he began the practice of Falun Gong nor did it discuss the continuous harassment, arrests, brainwashing, and torture he suffered because of the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. After being subjected to longterm torture, Mr. Zhao suffered a mental breakdown that led to his tragic death in September 2006.
Mr. Zhao Guoyuan, over 60 years old, lived in a dormitory of the gravel branch in Yiling District. He benefited much from practicing Falun Gong. He became healthier and was in good spirits. However, all that changed when the CCP began its brutal persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. Mr. Zhao was continually persecuted by the security branch and the 610 Office in Yiling District because he persisted in his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Many times, he was illegally detained and sent to a brainwashing center where he was tortured.
To avoid further harassment and arrest, Mr. Zhao went to stay with his son in Wangzhou Hill, Yichang City. Unfortunately, he was arrested and detained again for the fourth time. After he was released in 2005, Mr. Zhao suffered a mental breakdown. It is unimaginable the tortures he was subjected to while he was illegally detained. At home, he behaved irrationally. He also talked to himself out loud saying, "I don't study the Fa and I don't practice any more." He committed suicide in September 2006. The teachings of Falun Gong strictly forbid killing, including taking one's own life. His death comes as a result of the torture and brainwashing of the CCP to force Mr. Zhao to give up practicing Falun Gong, and eventually commit suicide. Mr. Zhao's death further underscores the brutality and tragedy of the persecution against Falun Gong.
The CCP is the real murderer of Mr. Zhao. The responsible parties are the Public Security Bureau of Yiling District, the 610 Office of Yiling District, the Yichang Detention Center, and the Yiling Detention Center.
Zhao Liangying, the author of the defamatory article, is a reporter for the Hubei Daily newspaper. It's ironic that the Ministry of Justice declared Zhao Liangying as a model of "Law Popularization and Individual Advancement" for his actions in defaming Falun Gong and inciting hatred. Nowadays when people in China talk about the CCP, they say, "I know what shamelessness is, but shamelessness like this is unprecedented."
The CCP tries very hard to turn its bloody crimes into glorious deception. However, lies can never cover the truth. Just as the truth of the "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation" incident has been spread widely, we believe that the truth of Mr. Zhao's death due to persecution will soon be known. I hope that the people in China recognize the lies told by the CCP, and understand the truth about Dafa.
