Practitioner Ms. Long Langqiong from Suining County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province was reported and illegally arrested during the evening of January 8, 2006 as she was distributing truth clarification materials inside the Suining County government and residential compound. Carrying out the arrest was Zuo Zhaoyou, head of the Suining County Peoples Congress, and others. Officials from the Suining County National Security Division ransacked Long Langqiongs home later that night and took Dafa books, Teachers picture(s), a computer, printer, and other things. The officials also extorted 5,000 yuan from Long Langqiongs mother, Liang Shuchun.
Officials from the Suining County 610 Office often harassed and intimidated Long Langqiong at her home. Authorities from the Suining County Party Committee, the Politics and Law Committee and the police department colluded with the 610 Office. They pressured Suining County Price Control Administration officials to have Long Langqiongs sister, Long Manqiong, dismissed from her job. Officials from the Shaoyang City National Security Bureau in Hunan Province and from the 610 Office went to the Hunan Province Institute of Safety and Monitoring Technology in the northern suburb of Changsha City where Ms. Long Langqiongs son, Yang Wenbing, was studying, and harassed him. Officials from the Hunan Province 610 Office told the institute to monitor and follow Yang Wenbing around the clock. The school later forced Yang Wenbing to withdraw, claiming he had an illness, and sent him back to Suining County.
Ms. Long Langqiong was reported in 2001 for copying and distributing truth clarification materials. She was held at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City for three years and released in October 2004. Long Langqiongs father, Long Zhanghua, suffered from poor health after living under great pressure for a long time due to the persecution. He passed away in September 2003.
