(Clearwisdom.net) February 27 to March 2, 2006 was the week for the University of Western Sydney to welcome students returning from their summer vacation. The activity was held simultaneously on four campuses of the university, including Penrith, Bankstown, and Campbelltown. Practitioners from the Falun Dafa Club of the university took part in the activity.

Falun Gong practitioners arranged their booth, distributed informational materials, introduced the Falun Gong exercises, and demonstrated how to fold paper lotus flowers, which they distributed for free. Folded paper lotus flowers were very welcomed and many people highly praised the lotus flowers, a symbol of purity and grace in eastern culture. Many learned how to fold them on the spot. Practitioners explained the symbolism of the lotus flowers, how the lotus flowers grow out of mud yet remain beautiful, symbolizing Falun Dafa practitioners' pure realm.
When the exercise demonstration began, the whole event site became very peaceful. Many people came to the booth to learn about Falun Dafa, and registered to attend the Falun Gong introductory class to be held. Many people were gratified to hear that the University Student Representative Council passed a resolution to support Falun Gong and condemn the persecution.
