As I was reading the Ninth Talk in Zhuan Falun,
"...the real reason somebody can't become still inside doesn't have to do with technique, and it's not because there's some kind of signature move. Instead, it's because your thinking, or your mind, isn't pure.... It's your mind that's not pure, and that's why you can't become still."
I suddenly enlightened to something.
I have cultivated in Falun Dafa for more than ten years, and read Zhuan Falun more than a hundred times, but I have been looking at the mind not being pure, and thinking of it as "mind not still." Especially since I recently learned about the Sujiatun incident, I have been moved by emotions, worried about my wife who is still in prison, so it caused me to read the Fa without a calm mind, to do the exercises without a calm mind, and even send forth righteous thoughts without a calm mind. Facing such a severe interference, I did not dig out the root, but only tried to control the situation on the surface. I found the cause of my problem: it is because I did not let go of my fundamental attachment, so my mind was not pure.
Master taught us,
"In true cultivation you have to cultivate your mind, you have to cultivate inward, to look inward--you can't look outward." (Zhuan Falun, Ninth Talk)
Why haven't I been able to be still for such a long period of time? The reason is I have not cultivated my mind solidly. Only if I get rid of attachments that I cannot put down or cling to too tightly, will my mind be pure, and then it will be calm. If my mind is not pure, my mind will never be calm.
Below is a short poem I wrote to share with my fellow practitioners:
Pure Lotus
Living in the world but not moved by the world,
The mind is beyond, so cannot be moved from within,
Cultivate to a pure mind state,
Above the mundane world to go back to our true self.
Above are my personal enlightenments, please correct me as needed.
