(Clearwisdom.net) I am a young Falun Dafa practitioner. I like to talk in a straightforward manner instead of making vague hints. I become a little impatient when I see some older women practitioners beat around the bush and do things in an indirect manner.
I personally believe that, when facing ordinary people, we should be considerate with our words and actions in order for them to be receptive and to feel more comfortable. Thus there is nothing wrong with doing things in an indirect manner in this situation. Among practitioners, it is not only unnecessary but also sometimes it may cause delay. Such incidents actually happened in our area.
We are in a remote area, where we have relatively few practitioners. When our Dafa truth clarification materials production site was just set up, the practitioner at the site sent finished materials to practitioner A. All other practitioners went to practitioner A to pick them up. At the beginning, there were few practitioners distributing materials, and more materials were produced than were distributed. So practitioner A told the practitioner at the production site: "Please send fewer materials from now on because nobody is distributing them." Accordingly, the practitioner at the information site decreased the supply of materials.
Later, with the development of the Fa-rectification process, more and more practitioners came out to distribute materials. The practitioner at the information site increased the material supply accordingly. Remembering what practitioner A had said, she still managed to limit the quantity of the materials sent to practitioner A. Meanwhile, practitioner A obviously felt the shortage of materials, but she was too embarrassed to express it, thinking that the information site had limited production ability, and her demand might add an extra burden. Thus, both parties were making assumptions about the other, and no one came out with the truth. Only several months later, when the practitioner at the materials production site found out by accident about the shortage of materials, was the problem solved.
Think about it, this was a very simple problem; however, just because of the excessive politeness of the two parties, they went around in a big circle and this also caused certain damage for the Fa-rectification. In relating this story, I am not analyzing who should be responsible for this. As Dafa practitioners, we did not do a good job in internal coordination as a whole body. It was because we were not candid with each other, therefore we created such a situation. On the surface, we were thinking about the other party, but actually we were driven by the feelings and formalities of everyday people.
This is not the end of the story. The practitioner at the materials production site sent materials to practitioner A. Although one practitioner obviously had time to distribute more materials, she did not want to take more. At the beginning, we thought that she had no time, so we said nothing. Later we found out that she was trying not to be selfish. She thought, "What would others do if I took more?" Dafa work is not the work of ordinary people, where you will get a bonus for doing more. So why should we be so polite? Why do we keep the formalities of everyday people in rectifying the Fa? Especially, we are not doing ordinary work, but we are saving sentient beings. Practitioners with free time found it embarrassing to take more materials, while practitioners with less free time acted according to their capabilities and were taking even less. This caused a serious waste of materials. Practitioners without much free time had to find time to distribute materials, while practitioners with free time had nothing to do. This also wasted human resources.
If we are prevented from making progress in the Fa-rectification and are obstructed by indirect communication, we will delay our important mission of saving lives. As practitioners and Dafa disciples of the Fa-rectification period, we should compare ourselves according to the Fa, open our minds to perceive both the past and future, and seriously eliminate our problems. Teacher said in "Digging Out the Roots":
"Cultivation practice is a serious matter ... ... It is extremely dangerous to add anything human to cultivation practice."
"I don't emphasize any specific approach; I use various means to expose your deeply-concealed attachments and get rid of them."
