At 10:30 a.m. on September 5, practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta and unfurled banners worded, "Falun Dafa is good" and "Release Attorney Gao Zhisheng immediately and unconditionally." During the entire event, they practiced the exercises peacefully, which caught the attention of passersby. Some people came forward to ask for truth-clarification materials.
Several media reporters covered the event live. Reporters from Jakarta No. 7 TV station took video footage of the entire event. A practitioner introduced Falun Gong to the reporter, "Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of both mind and body. Practitioners follow the principle Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and keep healthy by doing five sets of exercises. It has spread to over 80 countries all over the world. There are people practicing Falun Gong in many areas in Indonesia." When the reporter asked about Attorney Gao, the practitioner said, "Mr. Gao is a famous human rights lawyer. He wrote three open letters to Chinese President Hu Jintao, calling on the CCP to stop the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. He was then under surveillance by special agents 24 hours a day and harassed for more than 260 days. He was recently arrested. We are here to tell the CCP to stop its persecution of innocent people and to release Attorney Gao immediately." The reporter asked about organ transplantation in China and was shocked to learn that the source of organs was from living people. He could not conceive of such a brutal occurrence in todays world.
When asked if they were going to meet with officials from the Chinese Embassy, the practitioner said, "We had hoped to hand over the protest letter face to face, but we were refused. They even refuse to accept an official letter."
The peaceful event ended at 2:00 p.m.
