(Clearwisdom.net) On August 20, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners in southeast Queensland held an SOS Walk for Urgent Rescue. The activity aimed to raise awareness of the recently exposed atrocity of organs harvested from living Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Falun Gong practitioner send urgent call to stop the CCP atrocity of organ harvesting
Falun Gong practitioners from Brisbane and Gold Coast went north to participate in the walk. They started from a busy shopping center on Sunday, walking ten kilometers along the busy sea shore streets telling people about the CCP crimes of making profit from innocent people's lives.
Countless Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to the cruel persecution since 1999. It has reached the point where victims' vital organs are harvested when they are alive. Their bodies are cremated to destroy evidence.
Falun Gong practitioners in bright SOS shirts held banners and distributed fliers to passersby. They sent a clear message with steadfast and righteous thoughts. Some tables were set up along the way to collect supporting signatures, which will be sent to the Australian government to request that the government try its best to stop these inhuman crimes. Many people got fliers.
We passed parks, river banks and the sea shore. We walked amongst tourists and local residents who were enjoying the outdoors in the afternoon. Two children practitioners also participated in the activity. One rode her little bike to follow us. The other one rode in a stroller.
A gentleman stopped to sign in support, and said he was working on a film about organ-harvesting by the CCP, and that the film would be made in the U.S. He had done extensive investigation and research on this topic, and he said that the film was almost complete.
Our activity also attracted a local radio station. The station eagerly interviewed a local Falun Gong practitioner. A major newspaper reported it on the following day. At the end of the walk, Falun Gong practitioners stood in a row with banners in hand across the street from a busy shopping and outdoor dining center. The activity was a great and encouraging success.
