1. [Tianjin] Wuqing District Police Department Personnel Torture Practitioner Mr. Sha Litian So Severely that He Became Emaciated and Lost Consciousness
Practitioner Mr. Sha Litian from Xizhou Village, Zhangzhuang Township, Wuqing District, Tianjin, left the Wuqing District Detention Center in mid-August. He had been on a hunger strike for nearly two months. He did this to denounce the persecution he was suffering at the hands of personnel from the detention center, from 610 Office agents, and from persons with the National Security Team at the Wuqing District Police Department. When his family carried him out of the detention center, he weighed barely enough to stay alive. He was unconscious, incontinent, and unable to recognize people.
2. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Kong Xiangjian Becomes Mentally Disordered from Torture in Shenyang City's Women's Prison
Practitioner Ms. Kong Xiangjian is a resident of Fuxin City. She and her husband, Mr. Xu Zhisheng, were arrested at a truth clarification materials production center in April 2003 and sentenced, she to four years of imprisonment and her husband to three years of forced labor. She is now being held at the No. 2 Team, No. 2 Brigade at the Shenyang City Women's Prison and suffering torture. Her husband, Mr. Xu, went to visit her after his term expired in May 2006 and saw needle scars on all her fingers. She appeared mentally confused.
When her husband visited her at the end of June, she was unable to speak and seemed to suffer from severe mental problems. Her husband visited again in August. Her situation had not improved. She was mentally unbalanced, unable to speak ,and had obvious external injuries on her arms.
3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Guan Yue Held at the Fumin Road Police Precinct in the Shahekou District
Practitioner Mr. Guan Yue, arrested on June 2, 2006, has reportedly been sued by Shahekou District Procuratorate. His case has been transferred to the Fumin Road Police Precinct due to insufficient evidence.

Police from the Heli Town Forestry Bureau arrested practitioner Ms. Song Dan from Heli Town, Tangyuan County and sent her to a forestry bureau detention center a week ago. It's said Song Dan has been staging a hunger strike.

5. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Mr. Sun Kuixun and Others Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked
More than ten agents from Renzhao Police Station drove two police cars to the homes of practitioners Mr. Sun Kuixun, Ms. Sun Huijun, and Mr. Sun Kelin in Sunjiahui Village. They ransacked their homes, confiscated all the truth clarification materials, arrested the three practitioners, and sent them to a police station. Mr. Sun Kelin managed to escape. The two other practitioners were sent to the Pingdu City Detention Center.
Practitioner Mr. Zheng Zhijun from Zhengjiaguan Village was arrested at the same time and sent to the Pingdu City Brainwashing Center.

6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Personnel from the 610 Office Harass Practitioners
Personnel from Pingdu City's 610 Office broke into practitioner Mr. Sun Yanzeng's home in Ximianliu Village and ransacked the place on the afternoon of September 5, 2006. The persecutors were drunk and beat and verbally abused Mr. Sun during the whole process. They confiscated four copies of Zhuan Falun, one exercise demonstration tape, and some discs and truth-clarifying materials. Sun Yanzeng's mother was so frightened that she is unable to eat and drink and cannot take care of herself now.
7. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Zhirong and Others Tortured at the Jinan City Woman's Prison
Ms. Liu Zhirong, Ms. Min Huirong, Ms. Cui Luning and Ms. Ou Yunjie, and other practitioners who were unlawfully sentenced at the Qingdao City Court were sent to the Jinan City Woman's Prison in August 2006. According to their family members, police guards always watched on them during their visits; they could not talk freely.
8. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Updates on the Thirteen Arrested Practitioners
As of today, among the 13 practitioners from Panjin arrested on July 22, 2006, the following escaped with the power of their righteous thoughts: Ms. Yang Liu, Ms. Zhang Chungui, and Ms. Zheng Yan. The police had intended to send Ms. Zheng Yan to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, but she shouted out "Falun Dafa is Great!" all along the way. Thus the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp authorities were fearful and refused to admit her. Police then released her.
Practitioners Mr. Liu Guangqing, Mr. Zou Liming, Mr. Bai Jinqi, and Mr. Zhao Mingjie were sent to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp following their arrests. Ms. Sun Xiaojing, Ms. Li Hua, and Ms. Zhao Dan were sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp; Mr. Wang Baofu, Mr. Wang Fuxing and Mr. Li Youming are still being held at the Panjin City Detention Center.
9. [Shandong Province] Arrest of Practitioner Ms. Pan Wenying and Others; Employees of the Xianhe Oil Extraction Station at the Shengli Oil Field
Practitioner Ms. Pan Wenying, an employee of the Xianhe Oil Extraction Station, Shengli Oil Field, was arrested when going out for business the morning of September 6, 2006, and was sent to the Shengcai Brainwashing Center.
Police arrested practitioners Li Xuerong and Lu Chunhua, employees of the Shengli Oil field, when the practitioners were on their way back to Dongying City on September 6, 2006.
10. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] A Truth Clarification Materials Production Site Damaged; Practitioner Arrested
Officer Xia Shuikai from Yuehu Police Station and ten others colluded with community office chiefs Chen Guiying and Li Meifeng. They went to practitioner Mr. Wu Shufa's store at 9:00 a.m. on September 9, 2006. They arrested him and confiscated some Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, a printer, a laptop computer, a binder, a paper cutter, and some toner.
11. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Zhou Guangxiong Arrested; His Whereabouts Unknown (Belated information)
Peng Shuxun, the Yuchuan Town 610 Office chief, and officer Gan Zufa from the town police station broke into the home of practitioner Mr. Zhou Guangxiong from Zhouguozheng Village, Yuchuan Town, in early 2004. They confiscated 500 yuan in cash, which was designated as the security deposit for a piece of jade on order, and a gold nugget.
They arrested Mr. Zhou and sent him to the Wuxue City No.1 Detention Center in early 2005, claiming they had found a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in Mr. Zhou's home. Mr. Zhou's wife has nobody to count on and leads a difficult life. Mr. Zhou's whereabouts remain unknown.
12. [Tianmen City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Cai Xin Arrested
Personnel from Tianmen City's 610 Office arrested practitioner Ms. Cai Xin, in her 30s, from the No.3 Machinery Factory in Zaoshi Town, Tianmen City, in early September 2006. She has reportedly been put into Wuchang City's Tangxun Lake Brainwashing Center.
13. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Ms. Chen Dongling Arrested
Personnel from the Doumen District 610 Office in Zhuhai City arrested practitioner Ms. Chen Dongling from her home in Guangzhou City on September 6, 2006. She has been sent to Sanshui Brainwashing Center.
14. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Over Ten Practitioners Suffer Brainwashing
Personnel from the Political and Judicial Committee in the Peicheng District of Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, and the former 610 Office set up a brainwashing center in the Nongjiale behind Shengshui Temple in Qingyi Town. The Nongjiale is a two-story building. More than ten practitioners are being held there. Three people were assigned to monitor each practitioner.
15. [Feicheng City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhao Jianyong and Others Arrested
Personnel from the National Security Team at the Feicheng City Police Department and six officers from the Taoyuan Town Police Station arrested practitioner Mr. Zhao Jianyong. The arrest occurred while he was working at the appeals office in Taoyuan Town, Feicheng City, on September 4, 2006. Mr. Zhao is being held at the city detention center. Six officers ransacked Mr. Zhao's home that same morning and confiscated a computer and many Dafa books. Police also arrested two other practitioners whose names and their places of detention remain unknown.

16. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Ren Xu Tortured at the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Ren Xu, a Bayi Basketball Team player, was arrested in 2005 and is now being held in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. During his detention, the authorities forced Mr. Ren Xu who is almost two meters tall, to sit on a very small stool and forbade him to move. The rear legs of the stools are shorter than the front, so people could barely sit on them.
17. [Changzhi, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
The Changzhi Suburban Court in Shanxi Province secretly sentenced three practitioners to prison on August 29, 2006, in violation of the Chinese constitution. Ms. Zhang Yanbing was sentenced to five years in prison; Ms. Zhang Hongyan to seven years, and Mr. Fu Changsheng to three years. Ms Zhang Yanbing began a hunger strike on August 29, after the verdict was issued.
18. [Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Ren Changxue Persecuted and Taken to Luotai Mountain Resort Brainwashing Center
A practitioner has reported that fellow practitioner Ms. Ren Changxue from Fushun City, Liaoning Province, who had been held at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, was arrested on the very day her term of forced labor ended. The Communist Party head from her district and officers from Putun Police Department in the Wanghua District of Fushun City made the arrest. She was taken to the Luotai Mountain Resort Brainwashing Center in Fushun City. Many other practitioners reportedly have been directly taken to the brainwashing center just as their terms at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp expire.
Practitioner Ms. Liu Shuwen is still being held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her term will expire in October 2006. The guards forbid family visits.
19. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Xiuqin Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Li Xiuqin from West Nanguan Village, Zhaocheng Town, Zhaoyuan City, was arrested by Zhaoyuan City police. It happened in the morning on September 4, 2006. Six officers from the Zhaoyuan National Security Bureau, from the 610 Office, and from the West Nanguan Village Party Committee ransacked Ms. Li Xiuqin's home at noon that same day.

20. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Chunfang Detained for Handing Someone a Copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Chunfang is in her 70s and lives at Postbox 253 in the Dormitory of Chengdu City. She was taken from home. Officers from the Xinhong Road Police Station in Chengdu City made the arrest on September 5, 2006. She is now being held in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. She was reported for giving her former classmate a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

22. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Cao Qingmei Openly and Righteously Regains Her Freedom
Practitioners Ms. Cao Qingmei, Ms. Wei Chunlan, and Mr. Meng Xiangchun from Shanhoubancheng Village, Zhaogezhuang Town, Laishui County, Hebei Province, went to Jinshuikou to distribute truth clarification flyers at 8:30 p.m. on August 31, 2006. They were arrested and sent to the Laishui Custody Center the next day. Ms. Cao Qingmei held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and her family was told to take her home on September 4 after being extorted 450 yuan.

Heilongjiang Province 610 Office agents, Baoqing County 610 Office agents, and officers from the Public Security Division at the police department waited outside the home of practitioners Mr. Zhang Zhaohua and his wife, Ms. Yuan Meirong, from Xiaochengzi, Baoqing County. They arrested the couple on September 6. They also arrested practitioners Ms. Shao Guilan and Ms. Liu and her husband, who is not a practitioner.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Tichao, 65 years old, lives at Division 5, Taian Village, Liutuan Town, Yanshou County. He was reported at noon on August 29, 2006, when he was clarifying the truth. Officers from the Yanshou County Police Department and from the 610 Office, led by local village head Zhao Jiang, arrested him. They found truth clarification materials at his home. The police took him away. His current whereabouts are unknown.

27. [Hubei Province] Four Practitioner Employees at the Wuhan Steel Corporation Arrested
Xu Guoqing and other officers from the National Security Section at the Wuhan City Steel Corporation in the Qingshan District arrested practitioners Mr. Liu Xiangde, Ms. Pan Meihong, Mr. Jiang Lianwen, and Ms. Jiang Lianhua, all of whom work at the company. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
28. [Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Ning Hong Arrested for Distributing Copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party DVDs
Practitioner Ms. Ning Hong who works at the Sichuan Province Broadcast Station was followed when she left home to hand out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party DVDs. Approximately ten people, including National Security agents and officers from Shuangnan Police Department, arrested her at home on August 27, 2006. She is now being held at the Chengdu Detention Center in Anjing Town.
29. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Minglan Arrested Again
Practitioner Ms. Wang Minglan from Xujiapeng, Wuhan City, was arrested from home and police ransacked her home on August 24. She is being held at the No. 1 Custody Center in Wuhan City, Erzhigou, and her term expired on September 8. Many practitioners went to the custody center to pick her up on September 8, but two female officers from Xujiapeng Police Department took her away without giving any explanation.
30. [Beijing] Practitioner Ms. Yang Sufang Now Held at Shahe Brainwashing Center
Recently, retired practitioner Ms. Yang Sufang, who was an official at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and lives in Beijing, had distributed truth clarification materials in front of Ganjiakou Department Store in Beijing. She was arrested by officers from the Haiding District 610 Office who also ransacked her home. She is still being held at the Shahe Brainwashing Center in Xicheng District, Beijing.

31. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Jiang Jie Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Jiang Jie was abducted by a group of unidentified people around 7:00 a.m. on September 8, 2006. Jiang Jie's wife had just passed away, and their 16-year-old son is left home alone.
32. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Arrested by Temporary "Security Officers"
The Xianjin Street Police Station hired a group of unemployed people and paid each one 600 yuan a month to capture practitioners. The police issued them security officers' uniforms, in addition to paying them a 100-yuan bonus for each practitioner abducted. These "security officers" abducted practitioner Ms. Zhang around August 15. They abducted Ms. Mu in the Dongshan Neighborhood District in Jinzhou District, Dalian City, at around 7:00 p.m. on September 7, 2006. Ms. Mu has been sent to the Beisanli Detention Center in Jinzhou.
33. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Ms. Wang Guirong and Ms. Li Guiqin Arrested
Officers from Zhengyang Police Department arrested Ms. Wang on August 26 or August 27, 2006. Several other practitioners were also arrested at the same time.
Police arrested practitioner Ms. Li Guiqin from Qiqihar City on the afternoon of September 4 on her way to a fellow practitioner's home. Other police officers broke into her home at the same time and arrested her husband.
34. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Meng Xiangqi Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Meng Xiangqi, 22 years old, was arrested by Lishu County 610 Office agents and officers from the National Security Division and the police department. They took two computers from his home, two laser printers, three inkjet printers, and some truth clarification materials. Another group of National Security Division officers went to an open market trying to arrest Mr. Meng's parents. His mother lost consciousness from fear. They later ransacked Meng Xiangqi's home and took Dafa books and VCDs.
35. [Beijing] Mr. Jia Shouxin, Employed at the Institute of Electronics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Jia Shouxin, who is employed at the Institute of Electronics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, left home in late July 2006 after his home was ransacked by the police and returned to work several days later. Two officers from the Zhongguan Village Police Department arrested Mr. Jia from work on the morning of September 5. Three officers returned to his office in the afternoon and ransacked it.
36. [Jilin Province] Authorities from Shiling Prison in Siping City Order Inmates to Beat Practitioners; One Practitioner on Long-term Hunger Strike
Authorities at Shiling Prison in Siping City, Jilin Province, ordered inmates to beat practitioners. Inmates beat practitioner Liu Bin on August 1 for shouting "Falun Dafa is good." Practitioner Ms. Huang Xuelin was savagely beaten in the washroom on August 17. Practitioner Mr. Liang Zhenxing has been on a hunger strike for more than 100 days and he is extremely weak.
37. [Huaihua, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Including Mr. Tang Yunhua Arrested
About eight officers from the Chenxi County 610 Office, from the National Security Division and from the local police department ransacked the homes of five practitioners in the county in the middle of the night on September 5, 2006. They took truth clarification materials from practitioner Mr. Tang Yunhua's home. Five officers carried Tang Yunhua who is in his late 50s into a police car and took him away. They also tried to arrest his wife, who is not a practitioner, but they didn't succeed, because the neighbor(s) reprimanded them. Next, they went to practitioner Ou Jiafa's home and savagely beat his youngest son who is about 20 years old. They took some truth clarification materials and several copies of the the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Mr. Tang Yunhua is now being held in police custody.
38. [Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Niu Aiqing, an Employee from the Shengli Oilfield, Arrested Again
Practitioner Ms. Niu Aiqing, 35 years old, used to work at the Comprehensive Division of the No. 1 Xianhe Petroleum Mine at the Shengli Oilfield. She was illegally fined more than 10,000 yuan and detained several times over the past few years, merely for persisting in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. She was also laid off from work for her belief. Dong Qifu, head of the division and several others tricked Ms. Niu into arriving at work the morning of August 31, 2006. They told her that she needed to fill out a survey form for laid-off workers. They detained her and subsequently ransacked her home. Only her two seven-year-old children were home. Ms. Niu is the sole caretaker of her two children and parents-in-law, both in their 70s.

Practitioner Ms. Pan Wenying, who works at the Xianhe Oil Extraction Factory at the Shengli Oilfield, was arrested on the morning of September 6, 2006, when running an errand. She was taken to Shengcai Brainwashing Center.
