1. [Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Tian Genghai Cruelly Tortured in Panjin Prison
Yesterday, Mr. Tian Genghai’s parents met him in the Panjin Prison, Liaoning Province. During the meeting, Mr. Tian was being held by several people when he came to see his parents. He was so weak that he could barely talk. According to him, he had been electrically shocked, tortured on a tiger bench, and viciously beaten. He went on hunger strike and was brutally force-fed.
2. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Lin Shusen Taken to Qianjin Prison in Chadian, Tianjin for the Second Time
Mr. Lin Shusen, 33, is a university graduate. On April 28, 2005, he was taken to the Xicheng Detention Center in Beijing. In May 2006, he disappeared from the detention center and was sent to the dispatching division. On June 1, 2006, after ten months of being on hunger strike, he was taken to the Qianjin Prison in Hangu District, Tianjin to serve a five-year prison term. He is being unlawfully held in the No. 8 Ward. Due to extended persecution, he was in critical condition and was sent to the hospital for rescue where he spent over two weeks. His kidney and liver were both failing. In July 2006, he started taking in food. However, his condition was so poor his body is not able to digest anything. No matter what he eats, he passes out.
3. [Shanxi Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Jianqiao Arrested in Jinan City, Shandong Province
In July 2005, practitioner Mr. Li Jianqiao from Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province was forced to leave town and become homeless to avoid further persecution.
At the end of June or early July 2006, Mr. Li was arrested in Jinan City, Shandong Province. He is being unlawfully held in Jinan City.
4. [Yongxing County, Hunan Province] Persecution Crimes Committed by He Yonghua and Other Officials in the Qianchong Township, Yongxing County, Hunan Province
At just past midnight on December 21, 2004, He Yonghua ordered five or six violent thugs from the township government to break into practitioner Ms. Cai Zhihong’s home. They dragged Ms. Cai’s younger brother, practitioner Mr. Cai Zhixiong, to the township government.
In the township government, the thugs beat Mr. Cai about the eyes, the face, and on the head with stools and belts. They stripped him and conducted an unlawful search. Both of Mr. Cai’s arms were tied with ropes behind his back. The thugs then kicked him in the stomach and the chest. Upon daybreak, the township government sent out people to Ms. Cai’s home to ransack the place, confiscating Dafa books and materials. The officials took the deposit receipt of Mr. Cai Huacheng, a family member, who is not a practitioner. He Yonghua later unlawfully withdrew the entire amount of over 21,000 yuan that was on the receipt.
In late 2005, Mr. Cai Huacheng went to Yongxing County to appeal to the authorities for the return of the 21,000 yuan. On March 1, officials from the Yongxing County 610 Office, in collaboration with He Yonghua and officers from Liyutang Town Police Station, broke into Ms. Cai Zhihong’s home again at 9:00 p.m. They pried open drawers, and took possession of cash and other properties, including quite a few cartons of cigarettes in the inventory (Ms. Cai’s family operates a small retail store). The officers forcibly took Mr. Cai Zhixiong to the township government again. They stripped him, poured cold water over him, forced him to curse Dafa and Falun Gong’s founder, and to write a guarantee statement. In addition, the officials extorted another 1,500 yuan.

5. [Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Practitioners Ms. Li Jing and Mr. Sun Lei Arrested
Sometime after 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, the police suddenly arrived at the clothes stand operated by Ms. Li Jing, a practitioner from Huinong District in Ningxia. The officers searched her retail outlet, confiscated Dafa materials, and then searched her home.
According to other sources, in Huinong District it also happened a few days ago when police officers spotted Minghui Weekly (Minghui is the Chinese edition of Clearwisdom.net) at practitioner Ms. Zhang Libing’s home. Ms. Zhang admitted that she got it from fellow practitioner Mr. Sun Lei. The police searched Mr. Sun’s home, and found materials, a personal computer, and a printer. Mr. Sun Lei has been taken into custody at an undisclosed location.
6. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Two Cases of Persecution against Practitioners
Ms. Ai Ju, in her thirties, is a practitioner from Ganquan, Luquantun Township, Wucheng County, Shandong Province. A day or so before New Year’s Eve of 2006, six or seven officers from the Luquantun Township Police Station broke into her home. The officers dragged her into the police vehicle without allowing her to put on shoes. Later the officers arrived at Mr. Cui Xianzhi’s home in Zhangnan Town. Mr. Cui had just returned from out of town where he worked on odd jobs, and was resting in the bed. The officers took him to the Luquantun Township Police Station and did not release him until that night.
Ms. Ai Ju’s family spent tens of thousands of yuan in an attempt to bail her out. In the end she was sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to the Jinan No. 1 Women’s Forced Labor Camp.

On August 14, Ms. Yang Meiying, a practitioner from Hedong District, went to the Danggu District to clarify the truth. She was turned in to the police and arrested. The officers found truth-clarifying materials in the bag she carried and her residential identity card. The officers followed the address on her identity card to her home. They took possession of her personal computer, printer, and other items. The officers tried to take cash away with them, but Ms. Yang’s family stopped them.

At around 10:00 a.m. on August 15, 2006, a female practitioner was clarifying the truth to the people in a convenience store. She was spotted by a female plainclothes officer. A group of police officers soon arrived and took the practitioner into custody. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

12. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Qingwei and Several Other Practitioners Held in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for Persecution
Mr. Meng Qingwei and his wife Ms. Jiang Xiuying are practitioners from Mengwa Village, Duchang Neighborhood Administrative Office, Changyi City. They and five other fellow practitioners from a neighboring village were studying the Fa together. Mr. Meng’s son Meng Fanzheng and daughter-in-law alerted the police. At past 8:00 p.m. on December 20, 2005, the seven practitioners were taken into custody. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated Dafa materials and books. The practitioners are being held in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
13. [Shandong Province] Facts Regarding Persecution of a Practitioner by Nanliu Police Station and Wangcun Women’s Forced Labor Camp
On October 18, 2003, a female Dafa practitioner went to a neighboring village to clarify the truth. Police took her into custody at the Nanliu Police Station upon receiving reports. The officers struck her hard on her back with plastic-rubber batons until she passed out. The officers dragged her upstairs and continued to intimidate her when she regained consciousness. When it was getting dark, the officers transferred her to the detention center, where she was handcuffed throughout several interrogations. After one month of detention, she was sent to the Wangcun Women’s Forced Labor Camp for two years of forced labor. She was punished by standing for extended hours and humiliated. Six months into her forced labor term, she was kicked by the division head Li Aiwen (who was wearing leather shoes). She suffered pain and injury for over a month.
14. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Several Dafa Materials Production Sites Sabotaged
In the past week, several production sites of Dafa materials in the Tongyong Machinery Factory in Xuchang City were sabotaged one after another. Several practitioners, including Ms. Zhang, were taken into custody. In addition, Mr. Li Ming from Xuchang City, who was arrested in September 2005, has been recently sentenced to forced labor. He has been sent to Shibalihe for persecution.

Sometime after 11:00 a.m. on August 22, Ms. He Yuzhen was distributing truth-clarifying materials near the Yong’an community when she was reported to the police. Officers from Tian’an Police Station took her into custody. Ms. He is being held in a detention center.

17. [Beijing] Haidian District 610 Office Arrests an Older Female Practitioner
An elderly female practitioner, who lives at the family quarters of the former Ministry of State Commodities and Resources (No. 25, Yuetanbei Street, Xicheng District, Beijing), was recently arrested by officers from the Haidian District 610 Office while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials at the Ganjiakou Market. The police also searched her home.
18. [Jiaoling County, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhu Yi Unlawfully Arrested
In the early evening of August 21, officers from the 610 Office took Ms. Zhu Yi into custody at her home. They sent Ms. Zhu to the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp the same night.
Since last year, officers from the 610 Office have kept harassing Ms. Zhu. Several of their attempts to arrest Ms. Zhu were thwarted. Ms. Zhu was forced to move to Shenzhen City. Lawless officials in Jiaoling County harassed her family and relatives numerous times over the phone. The officers also placed her home under surveillance. During this arrest, Ms. Zhu's younger brother and sister-in-law tried to protect her. They were both beaten by the police. Her younger brother has also been detained (for ten days according to sources).

19. [Shandong Province] Police Unlawfully Search Practitioner Li Yunzhao's Home
Li Yunzhao is a practitioner at the Xiezhuang Coal Mine of the Xinwen Mining Group Company in Shandong Province. At around 2:00 p.m. on August 22, eight or nine police officers broke into Li's home to conduct an unlawful search. Li's spouse tried to stop the search but was handcuffed and dragged outside. The officers took possession of a desktop computer, a notebook computer, a digital camera, three USB drives, Dafa books, and issues of Minghui Weekly. Practitioner Li managed to escape.

21. [Hebei City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information on Practitioners Taken into Custody
Shortly after 6:00 a.m. on June 28, over twenty officers from the Hebei Police Department and officials from the 610 Office including Guo Shujun broke into practitioner Ms. Wu Guangmin's home. Without any paperwork, the officers ransacked Ms. Wu's home and took away over 9,000 yuan in cash.
Li Guangsheng of the State Security Division led officers Luo Jinyu and Gaofeng to the home of Ms. Jia Qiumei and her mother. The officers took 4,000 yuan in cash saved for the education of their child. The officers then went to practitioner Mr. Jiang Biao's home and took him into custody. Mr. Jiang Biao is being held at Hegang Detention and Forced Labor Center. The next day, the officers searched practitioner Ms. Niu Hui's home.
Practitioners Ms. Wu Guangmin, Ms. Ren Xingqin, and Ms. Jia Qiumei were held in Hebei for fifteen days before being sent to the Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City. The labor camp refused to admit Ms. Wu and Ms. Ren because of their old age and illness symptoms. The Hebei police still refused to release them. They sent the two practitioners back to the Xigemu Forced Labor Camp twenty days later. Ms. Wu has since been released due to her poor health.
Ms. Ren Xingqin is close to 70 years old. Her second son Mr. Jia Yongfa and her third daughter Ms. Jia Dongmei died from persecution by the Hebei police and the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. They were survived by their young children.

22. [Fujian Province] Provincial Female Prison Still Prohibits Zuo Xiuyun’s Relatives From Visiting Her
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zuo Xiuyun was illegally imprisoned for more than two years, from the beginning of June 2004 until now. Her relatives went to the prison many times to request a visit with her, but the prison personnel always unreasonably rejected their requests.
23. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Dafa Practitioners From Villages In Beilin Region Illegally Arrested
On July 8-9, 2006, policeman Li Jianfei and others led by the Suihua City Beilin Region 610 Office director Wang Shubo arrested three Dafa Practitioners from their homes. These practitioners were Ms. Xue Shurong from the Sanjing Township, Mr. Liu Fucai from Zhangwei, and Ms. Tang Guirong.
On the evening of August 4, Jinhe Township Dafa practitioners Ms. Yao Zhenling and Ms. Du Shuxia were reported to the authorities by villagers when clarifying the truth, and arrested by Jinhe Township local police officer Ma Wanhai on the road. They were directly sent to the Suihua City Beilin Region 610 Office. At that time they were each fined 1,000 yuan and illegally imprisoned.

24. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Wu Guijuan Arrested
Meihekou City, Hongmei Town Dafa practitioner Ms. Wu Guijuan, 40, was working on farm jobs at home with her husband at 10:00 a.m. on August 21, 2006. Suddenly seven or eight policemen rushed in and barbarically ransacked her home. Later Wu Guijuan was arrested by the police and taken to Hongmei Town Police Department. On that afternoon, after 3:00 p.m., several police officers from the Meihekou Municipal Police Department political security brigade illegally sent Wu Guijuan to the Meihekou City Detention Center for imprisonment.

25. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Dong Yanjun and Others Arrested by 610 Office
On August 14, 2006 Dafa practitioners Ms. Dong Yanjun, Ms. Chang Zhenying, Ms. Liu Xiangyun, Ms. Dai Fengting, and Li Dianfu were arrested by the Hebei Province, Baoding City, Laishui County 610 Office and are currently illegally imprisoned at the county detention center for persecution. They had gone on a hunger strike to protest but the county 610 Office policemen stepped on their foreheads to forcibly feed them salty water and carried on with cruel beatings and persecution.

Mr. Hao Qingsheng, 45, lives at the Longtan Township Dalizi First Row. On August 21, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., the Jilin City Tiedong local police and Longtan Township lawless personnel went to Hao Qingsheng’s home to abduct him and ransack his property.

28. [Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioner Du Maomin Still Illegally Imprisoned At Weibei Prison
After Shandong Province, Linyi City, Tancheng County Dafa practitioner Mr. Du Maomin was arrested by police in November 2001 and secretly sentenced to prison, his family members did not know his whereabouts. It was only afterwards that they knew he was illegally sentenced to five years in prison and was detained at the Weibei Prison.

On August 9, 2006, at about midnight, Dafa practitioner Mr. Gai Xianfei, who lives in Laiyang City, Shandong Province, was tracked and arrested by Laiyang police while he was posting stickers that revealed the truth about the persecution against Dafa practitioners at Zuojiakuang Village. The place where he is imprisoned is unclear.
The police looted all of the valuables, including his motorcycle, computer, etc. at Gai Xianfei’s residence.
31. [Beijing City] Dafa Practitioner Li Kun Missing Since August 17
Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Kun, who is in her fifties and lives in the Yuetan Area in Beijing, went missing on August 17.
Beijing Dafa practitioner Ms. Ren Xu and her mother are currently still illegally imprisoned at the detention center.
32. [Beijing City] Dafa Practitioner Fan Yaoying Arrested By Police
Shijingshan Area Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Yaoying (in her fifties) is a retired staff member of the Shijingshan Area Grain Department and lives at Nanli, Bajiao, in Shijingshan area. On August 20, 2006, policeman Wang Bo from Nanli, in the Bajiao local police station, and two other policemen from the Shijingshan Police Department arrived at Fan Yaoying’s home together, asking her whether she still practiced Falun Gong. Fan expressed her firm resolution to keep practicing. On August 21, Wang Bo and two other policemen went to Fan Yaoying’s home to ransack her property and arrest Fan Yaoying and another female Dafa practitioner who happened to be visiting her. They arrested them and took them to the Bajiao Local Police Station. The next day, before dawn, Fan Yaoying was sent to the Shijingshan Police Department to be illegally imprisoned. The other female Dafa practitioner had a heart attack and was returned to her home.
On the evening of August 21, the Bajiao local police searched pedestrians’ bags on the main streets, and one male Dafa practitioner was found to be carrying Dafa truth clarifying materials in his package and was forcibly taken to the Bajiao local police station. On August 22, this Dafa practitioner regained his freedom.
