(Clearwisdom.net) Canadian Member of Parliament Dawn Black of the New Democratic Party (New Westminster - Coquitlam, British Columbia riding) recently joined the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG). The CIPFG now has MPs from the three major national political parties in Canada-- the Conservative Party, Liberal Party, and New Democratic Party.
Ms. Black proposed a motion to Parliament on September 13, 2007 regarding the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The content of the motion is as follows:
M-361 - September 13, 2007 - Ms. Black (New Westminster-Coquitlam)
- "That, in the opinion of the House, the government should introduce a moratorium that would cease the export of drugs or medical supplies intended for use in organ harvesting or transplants to China until China adequately addresses the concerns of Canadians over the nature of organ harvesting."
The CIPFG is composed of individuals who are willing to participate in the investigation of the persecution of Falun Gong or who are willing to provide any form of help. Its main objectives are to conduct a thorough and independent investigation in order to uncover the facts about the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in secret concentration camps, military and civilian hospitals and all other relevant facilities across China. It also aims to expose the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners happening in prisons, forced labor camps, detention centers, brainwashing centers, mental hospitals, hospitals and other relevant facilities across China so as to put an end to the persecution.
At present, more than 350 distinguished individuals and groups from four continents have joined the CIPFG, including international human rights activists, politicians, legal experts, doctors, religious leaders and others. Global Human Rights Torch Relay
The CIPFG initiated the "Global Human Rights Torch Relay" on August 9, 2007, to expose the CCP's atrocities and crimes against humanity, and to call on the international community to reject holding the Olympics, dubbed the "Bloody Harvest Games," which are supposed to symbolize peace and humanity.
The Human Rights Torch was lit on August 9 in Athens, Greece. As of today, the torch has passed through Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, Austria, Slovakia, Switzerland, France, and Lithuania, reaching Brussels, Belgium on September 28. The torch relay has been well-received by politicians and citizens of the countries along the relay route.
