It took some time for me to realize that I should not be satisfied just doing the three things. Instead, I should put my whole heart into it. Only this way can we walk our final path well.
Utilizing Opportunities at My Workplace to Save Sentient Beings with Predestined Relationships
As a practitioner of the Fa-rectification period, saving sentient beings is the most important thing for me. I should never take it easy.
I had a very good job. All my friends and relatives told me to treasure this job. I'm about 50 years old. Nowadays, even new college graduates have a very hard time finding a job. It is even worse for someone like me who is close to retirement. I understand that Teacher arranged this job for me, not only to earn an income to support my family, but also to clarify the truth to all those beings I came in contact with and save them. I told my relatives, "I treasure this job more than you realize." I discussed this with my husband, "If I didn't practice Falun Gong, I might have died a long time ago, not to mention that I'm still working!" My husband agreed. He had witnessed the great changes in me since I practiced Falun Gong.
As a medical doctor, I live by the Falun Dafa principles "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." My superiors at the hospital were very satisfied with my work. I came into contact with mainly patients and their relatives, and naturally my colleagues. I used every opportunity to clarify the truth to them face-to-face. I always tried to get their addresses and contact information, so I could send them truth clarification materials. Many people felt great happiness after they learned the truth. Some told me, "I feel very happy every time I see you." Some of them held my hands and said, "Please, stay a little longer with me."
One of my patients was in her 80s. She suffered from shrinking leg muscles and deformed knees because she had been bedridden for so long. She couldn't stand straight. I told her what was written in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. She agreed with me and told me that her family was accused of being capitalists and her family's property was confiscated. She had also suffered from the CCP's persecution. I told her of the beauty of Falun Dafa and asked her to recite: "Falun Dafa is good" and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." She told me, "Falun Gong is very good. I don't understand why the government persecutes Falun Gong. I would like to practice it anyway!"
The first treatment was meant to restore the functioning of her knees. After she stretched her legs, she suddenly stood up. One doctor, a recent college graduate, came to my office and was extremely surprised to see this patient standing up. The recent college graduates were in charge of treating such patients. This patient asked me to treat her. I had to tell her I could only treat her if I had some free time and asked her to do some exercises in bed to help in her recovery. After I treated her twice, she could get out of bed and stand by herself. Then the recent graduates took over the treatment. I thought, "She has almost recovered. If you take over the patient now, then who will get the credit?" I realized my attachment to fame was getting bigger. Teacher's words came to my mind:
"Those who are attached to their reputations practice an evil way, full of intention. Once they gain renown in this world, they are bound to say good but mean evil, thereby misleading the public and undermining the Fa." ( "Cultivators' Avoidances" from Essentials for Further Advancement.)
In the following days, no matter how those doctors treated the patient, she couldn't stretch her knees and it was very painful for her. The hospital arranged for a more experienced doctor, but the result was same. The patient wanted me to treat her. I enlightened that I'm a practitioner and my hands and body carry energy! One of the doctors accused me, "You have overdone the treatment on her legs. Now she can't stand any more. Otherwise, she should be able to walk by now." I didn't get angry at her accusations. When I saw that patient again, I told her to recite, "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance is good!" I assured her that she would recover even faster. Now she can walk without support and take care of herself.
When I clarified the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong to one of my colleagues, he told me that when he was small boy, his grandmother told him that many many people would die in the future. His grandmother could see into the future. This colleague really believed the information in the truth clarification materials. After he published his statement withdrawing from CCP, I lent him Falun Dafa books and Teacher's lectures and taught him the Falun Gong exercises.
Sentient Beings Are Waiting for Us to Save Them--We Cannot Wait
There were also some people who didn't accept the truth and reported me to the hospital administration. The officials didn't talk to me, but they did talk to my patients and colleagues. They didn't know I practice Falun Gong. At the beginning, I tried to guess who reported me. After studying the Fa, I looked inward and knew there must be some reason for this to happen.
One day, one of my colleagues told me, "I heard that the hospital plans to fire you after they find a good candidate to replace you." After I heard this, I smiled and said, "What they said is not of importance. Only what Teacher says counts." Surely it appeared as if I was needed, and my workload increased. I told myself, "I only follow Teacher's arrangements and nothing else." Although I couldn't see battles between the good and evil in other dimensions, my mind has been very stable. And I never stopped sending forth righteous thoughts. Of course, the evil couldn't affect me.
I wanted to go to my hometown and tell the people there the truth about Falun Gong and save them. But, my job prevented me from taking a long leave, so I decided to quit.
Because the practitioners in my hometown had done such a wonderful job in clarifying the truth to the local people, everyone I met had heard about or read Falun Dafa truth clarification materials. More and more people have awakened to the facts and changed their view about Falun Dafa. Many of my husband's friends invited us to have dinner with them. In the past I would not have attended these social activities because Teacher had told us that we lose de when receiving something for free. Now I don't think like that anymore. I felt this was a good opportunity to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.
I understood what Teacher said, "Cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master." (Zhuan Falun, 2003 Translation Version) Teacher brought many who had a predestined relationship with Dafa to me. I didn't disappoint Teacher. I prepared wonderful gifts for them all--Dafa truth clarification materials. If they didn't understand what I said, they could read the materials I gave them. Many of them passed the materials to others, so many friends learned the facts.
At the beginning, my husband worried about our safety and tried to stop me. Because of my sentiment toward him, I was afraid that he would not be saved. I clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to him but held a strong attachment to him. The old forces saw my gap and took advantage of it. The old forces interfered with my husband and caused him to say bad words about and do bad things against Falun Dafa. He believed that Falun Dafa is good, but refused to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I also held wrong notions. I had thought that, since my husband knew many people, if he understood the truth and withdrew from the CCP, he could influence many others. Now I understand it is we practitioners that play the main role, not non-practitioners. Teacher said,
"You are Gods, and you are the future rulers of different cosmoses, so who would you count on? All the beings are counting on you!" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")
After I repeatedly clarified the truth to those around my husband, they gradually awakened to the truth. They then influenced my husband. Once during dinner, one of his friends asked him, "When will the CCP fall?" My husband appeared angry and said, "You guys take your salary from the CCP, but still curse it." His friends argued back, "Without the CCP, will we starve? Don't foreigners live a better life? I think we will have a better life without the CCP." My husband couldn't respond.
The day before we left our hometown, many friends came to say good-bye. I was thinking about how to help those who hadn't yet withdrawn from the CCP. One of my husband's friends who had withdrawn from the CCP walked up to me and asked, "Sister, why don't you give a toast?" I held up my glass, gave a toast, to each of them and set up an alias name so that each one could withdraw from the CCP. Surprisingly, they all agreed! And, they convinced my husband withdraw, also. Teacher gave him another chance and helped him make the right decision. Thank you, Greatest Teacher.
