(Clearwisdom.net) On May 13, 2007, New York State Senator Thomas K. Duane issued a proclamation honoring the practitioners of Falun Dafa around the world for their continued courage and adherence to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

Honoring Falun Dafa and the Eighth Annual World Falun Dafa Day
Whereas, it is important to honor those traditions that have helped many, and its practitioners who stand tall in the face of repression; and
Whereas, by living in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the practitioners of Falun Dafa have helped to benefit society and promote peaceful relations worldwide; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa was founded in China in 1992, and has attracted followers tens of millions of followers not only in China, but around the world; and
Whereas, since 1999, the government of China has seen fit to unjustly persecute those followers; and
Whereas, tens of thousands of followers have been taken from their families, tortured and killed; and
Whereas, the Eighth Annual World Falun Dafa Day is being celebrated in Union Square Park today, May 13, 2007; and
Whereas, it is hoped that the practitioners of Falun Dafa will one day be able to practice their passion without fear of government repression; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that I, State Senator Thomas K. Duane, honor the practitioners of Falun Dafa around the world for their continued courage and adherence to the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance; and be it further
Resolved, that a copy of this proclamation be transmitted to Jeanne Mitchell during today's event.
