(Clearwisdom.net) At noon of July 20, 2007, Falun Dafa Association of Canada held a press conference in front of the Parliament Building and issued a statement requesting Canada to openly condemn the CCP's eight-year-long persecution and take actions to stop the CCP's atrocities of live organ harvesting.

Practitioners Yao Lian and Shen Yue from Montreal narrated what happened to their relatives in China suffering persecution. Falun Gong practitioners in Montreal and Ottawa held a series of activities around July 20 to spread the facts, including anti-torture exhibitions in front of the Parliament Building, a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy and a press conference.

CCP's Live Organ Harvesting for Lucrative Profit

A representative of the Falun Dafa Association of Canada said in the press conference, "Today, July 20, the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has lasted eight years. One year ago, David Matas, international human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, formed an independent investigation team and released their report to media. The investigation confirmed the allegation of the CCP's harvesting of organs and killing practitioners. We call on the Canadian government to condemn the eight-year-long persecution and stop the CCP's live organ harvesting, and crimes against humanity."

Professor Peter Morici of Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland wrote in "Answering China" to Global Politician on July 20, "To limit dissent, Beijing censors the internet, with the cooperation of principled western companies like Google. It jails political activists and members of 'subversive religions,' such as Falun Gong. Prison and military hospitals harvest organs for the lucrative transplant market. The atrocities Beijing encourages are endless and beyond shame."

Canada's Globe and Mail carried a report on July 18 titled "China's deadly scheme to harvest organs" by Leigh Turner of William Dawson Scholar in the Biomedical Ethics Unit at McGill University. The article stated, "Patients from countries such as Canada, Australia, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States travel to China and purchase organ transplants through brokers. At least 12 companies - of which two are in Canada - use the Internet to market transplants in China. Their websites assure prospective customers that organs are available within days or weeks."

The report referred to "Huang Peng, a former prison official at Shenyang No. 2 Prison in the province of Liaoning, says: 'There is no family willing to have their loved ones' organs taken. And there is no such thing as a prisoner who volunteers.' Gao Pei Qi, a former member of China's Public Security Bureau, says: 'Basically, they look at the prisoner's body as whatever they want it to be. They would take the prisoner's skin, if necessary.'"

Dr. Turner stated, "We must respond to this violation of human rights and principles of medical ethics. Given the number of organs taken from executed prisoners, most research papers by transplant physicians in China must draw on data obtained through research dependent on organs taken from prisoners. Abstracts, papers and posters prepared by transplant doctors in China must be rejected by medical journals and scientific conferences because of their use of data obtained through human-rights violations." "Governments, human-rights organizations and medical societies must condemn China's use of executed prisoners as a ready supply of transplantable human organs."

Persecution of Relatives of Local Residents

Spokesperson Zhou Limin of the Falun Dafa Association of Canada said in the press conference, "The eight-year-long persecution indicates that China's human rights condition is the worst in history. In China, one in every ten people is affected. In the world, several billions of people are deceived to hate Falun Gong by the CCP's lies."

Ms. Yao Lian from Montreal narrated how her husband was arrested and persecuted. Mr. Ma Jian was taken away by security agents and beaten for practicing Falun Gong. Currently, he is imprisoned in Tuanhe Labor Camp, Beijing. The persecution of Mr. Ma brought anxiety to their family members. Ms. Yao said, "After he was taken away, I called his family members to comfort them. They knew I was far away, so they did not want me to worry. Even so, they ran into tears while speaking over the phone. They could not bear it. I heard their sobs." She said, "Ma Jian did not do anything wrong. I stand with him though I cannot see him."

Practitioner Shen Yue's mother was taken away at the end of June by security agents, the 610 Office and Chengde Police. His mother's three sisters were also arrested and persecuted to different degrees during the eight-year-long persecution for practicing Falun Gong. On the anti-torture exhibition, Mr. Shen said, "My mother has been arrested many times. In prison, she suffered countless tortures. I know that she will not give up her belief in truth. I hope that she stands up to the persecution more resolutely. I call for righteous voice from all of society to help stop the persecution."

Falun Gong practitioners in Ottawa also held a candlelight vigil on the evening of July 17 in front of the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the 3,064 fellow practitioners who were tortured to death in China for practicing Falun Gong.

Calling on the Canadian Government to Condemn the Persecution

Falun Dafa Association of Canada stated, "Falun Gong is a spiritual group based on belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. Before the persecution, there were seventy to one hundred millions Chinese people practicing Falun Gong. Former CCP head ordered to eliminate the belief. Since then, the arrest, torture, killing, and brainwashing of Falun Gong practitioners continue to today in China."

Ottawa Citizen covered the anti-torture exhibition on July 15 and stated that based on the recent investigation, the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong included torture, murder, and systemic organ harvesting.

David Matas, international human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada formed an independent investigation team and released their revised report "Bloody Harvest." The report states, "[They] represent a grotesque form of evil which, despite all the deprivations humanity has seen, would be new to this planet."
