(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Hu Yuanzhen, Ms. Li Mengshu, and Ms. Liu Jianrong, practitioners from Jianyang City, Sichuan Province, were taken into custody for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in marketplaces on March 15, 2007. On about June 6, 2007, the three practitioners, especially Ms. Liu Jianrong, who just had started practicing Falun Dafa in 2005, defended themselves in court. She challenged the unjust and severe sentences and rendered the public prosecutor and judge speechless. As a result, the court adjourned soon after it started. In late June, the court secretly sentenced Ms. Hu Yuanzhen to three years of prison, Ms. Li Mengshu to three and a half years, and Ms. Liu Jianrong to three and a half years.
Ms. Liu Jianrong had late stage stomach cancer prior to practicing Falun Dafa. A variety of treatments proved to be useless. In 2005, she was introduced to Falun Gong and obtained a new lease on life. Her 92-year-old father fell ill after learning of his daughter's imprisonment. He passed away on June 21, 2007, unable to see his daughter for one last time.
Ms. Li Mengshu is close to 70 years old now. After she was taken into custody, her 70-year-old husband Mr. Wu Tianhui sunk into deep depression and passed away on the night of April 22, 2007.
The family of Ms. Hu Yuanzhen was persecuted by the CCP repeatedly because they practiced Falun Gong. Her husband Li Guocai was illegally sentenced to prison for three years in May 2005, and he has been detained in the Wumaping Prison and subjected to persecution to this day.
