(Clearwisdom.net) On June 6, 2006, Dafa practitioners who were illegally detained in different branches of Qinduankou Jail were all gathered in the No. 15 branch. The police said to give the Dafa practitioners a non-hostile environment. (In fact, they were afraid of the Nine Commentaries circulating in the jail and were afraid of more prisoners knowing the truth about Falun Gong and the evil nature of the CCP.) There were about thirty-two practitioners and most of them have a firm belief in Dafa and Teacher Li.
In July 2006, about twenty-two Dafa practitioners jointly wrote an open letter to jail police persuading the police to treat Dafa practitioners well and also persuading them to quit CCP and its related evil organizations. Since then, however, the police in the jail escalated their persecution of Dafa practitioners. Among them, Dafa practitioner Min Changchun was transferred to the No. 11 branch. Dafa practitioner Wu Zhiqiang presented the open letter to the police. A few days later, he was transferred to the No. 12 branch. Dafa practitioner Hu Zhigang sponsored the open letter. He was later taken to the special police team and was brutally beaten up three different times. Every time when he was being beaten up, Hu Zhigang would call out, "Falun Dafa is good!" Later he was transferred to the No. 10 branch and was placed in solitary confinement. (After the event, three Dafa practitioners were asked to talk to the police and were then secretly transferred elsewhere. Other practitioners knew nothing about this.)
Deng Kailiang, a jail police officer (who is actually the political commissioner) collaborated with some of the most evil prisoners from other branches to control one Dafa practitioner. They would not allow Dafa practitioners to communicate with each other. Most of the Dafa practitioners did not cooperate with their evil requests and orders. Dafa practitioners would not participate in the brainwashing sessions or physical labor, and would not admit that they committed any crimes. They would not wear prison uniforms or the mandatory prison hair-style. They continued with their Fa study, reciting the Fa, and sending forth righteous thoughts at the top of each hour. The officers searched their cells several times and took away some of Teacher's articles from the Dafa practitioners. Most of the time, however, Dafa practitioners passed the search by sending forth righteous thoughts together.
Dafa practitioner Zhou Rao sat up on the bed one night due to hot weather. The police locked him in a separate cell with the excuse that he was doing the exercises. Dafa practitioner Cao Zhengguo was locked in a separate cell three times within six months. In January 2007, because he shouted 'Falun Dafa is good!" he was transferred to the Fajiatai Jail in Shayang.
Dafa practitioners Zheng Handong and Qi Qingsong took the lead in refusing the jail hair-style and were later transferred to the No. 2 branch to be separated. Dafa practitioner Zheng Zhihong refused the jail hair-style and was beaten up and severely wounded and could not eat or get out of bed for three days. Jail police officers Gong Shuxiong and Lian Jinwen ordered five prisoners to beat up Zheng Zhihong in the workshop of the No. 1 warehouse on February 2, 2007.
After Zheng Zhihong was beaten up, several Dafa practitioners went to talk to the jail team leaders and the jail leaders, who would avoid talking to the practitioners. In the mean time, they ordered some prisoners to control and monitor Dafa practitioners more closely and would not allow practitioners to talk to the police. Under such circumstances, Dafa practitioners Zheng Yong, Gong Huatao, and several other fellow practitioners shouted loudly on their way to work in the morning, "Falun Dafa is good! Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance is good!" Two practitioners, Zheng Yong and Gong Huatao were taken to the special police team and brutally beaten and later sent to separate cells. One week later after that event, all of the Dafa practitioners who participated in the protest that morning were transferred to the Fajiatai jail. (That was one week before the lunar calendar New Year on 2007)
On March 20, 2007, the No. 15 branch was open for family members to visit. After lunch around 12:30 p.m. when they went back to their cells, the Provincial Monitoring Bureau and the jail brought over thirty police and over a dozen Special Police Squad members. They took over a dozen Dafa practitioners and transferred them to the Fajiatai jail. When they left, they were only allowed to bring a few pieces of clothing. They did not take any bedding or daily necessities. At that time, each of the practitioners was hand-cuffed and had their body searched. The police took away three hundred yuan in cash from Dafa practitioners Cai Zidong and Deng Yong. All of the money was taken by the police who kept it for themselves.
In Qinduankou jail, Dafa practitioner Zhou Jiangang is still being persecuted and has become paraplegic. They still will not release him and keep him in the No. 19 branch. Because they are afraid of the overseas Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), they transferred all other practitioners and lied to the outsiders by saying that there are no Falun Gong practitioners in the jail. They wanted to cover the facts and deceive people and the CIPFG.
In addition, a prisoner in the No. 6 branch began to practice Falun Gong after he learned the truth. However, he had only read two chapters of Zhuan Falun and recited some poems in Hong Yin. He was later persecuted and transferred to the Strict Monitoring Unit, where the police asked him to write a guarantee statement to give up the practice. The practitioner refused to write the statement. When his three-month term expired, the jail extended it another three months. Three months later, when his 2nd three-month term expired, the police told him not to tell other people about Falun Gong and he refused to do that. Now, he is still detained in the Strict Monitoring Unit.
At present, Dafa practitioner Zhou Jiangang is in critical condition. We call on everyone to pay close attention to Zhou Jiangang's situation.
