Today's report relates persecution incidents that involve 28 cities or counties in 12 provinces. Twenty-nine practitioners were subjected to maltreatment during detention, and at least 80 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Liang Lanzhi Is Still Being Held at the City's Detention Center

Personnel from the Nanshi District Police Department in Baoding City arrested Ms. Liang Lanzhi and put her in the city's detention center on August 24, 2007.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Li Chenying Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Ms. Li Chenying, 58 years old, was put into the Dalian City Yaojia Detention Center seven months ago. Police confiscated her two computers and two printers. Dalian City Court agents sentenced Ms. Li to seven years in prison.

3. [Beijing] Mr. Yu Ming Persecuted in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp

This is the third time that practitioner Mr. Yu Ming was sentenced to forced labor. He was put into a small cell in the Western Building in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp. Twenty-four inmates were divided into four shifts to monitor him. Mr. Yu often shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Guards ordered the inmates monitoring him to gag Mr. Yu with cloth and tie him to a bed for three months, which caused Mr. Yu's muscles to atrophy. Mr. Yu has staged a protest hunger strike and still shouts, "Falun Dafa is good." The guards have now resorted to placing a speaker in the cell. As long as Mr. Yu shouts, they turn on the speaker and play loud music.

4. [Shanghai] Recent Information about Practitioner Zhou Xianwen

Eight officers from the Yangpu Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Zhou Xianwen from her home on the night of July 31, 2007, without any evidence against her. They held her for a month and then transferred her to the Qingpu Brainwashing Center on August 30, 2007.

5. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners have been arrested since April 2007. They are Mr. Miao Jiayou, Mr. Liu Xiaoman, Mr. Zhou Yurong, Ms. Zou Baoyu, Ms. Zheng Xiaozhi, Ms. Du Minghua, and Mr. Jia Guolong. Some have been sentenced to forced labor and the others are still being held without due process.

6. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] A Practitioner Arrested

A practitioner from Jiexi County, Jieyang City, clarified the truth about Falun Gong at the Datong Farm Market, but the security staff and administrative personnel arrested him/her and sent the practitioner to a police station. Fortunately, the practitioner has since been released.

7. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Mr. Yu Shaoqi Taken to the Huaihua City Brainwashing Center

Personnel from the Chenxi County 610 Office arrested Mr. Yu Shaoqi from his office in the county Weather Bureau the morning of September 20, 2007. They took Mr. Yu to the Huaihua City Brainwashing Center. They also required the bureau to provide personnel to monitor Mr. Yu.

Mr. Yu was sentenced to forced labor once, put into a mental hospital once for persecution, and has been arrested a total of a dozen times since July 20, 1999. In addition, he has had large sums of money extorted from him.

8. [Heilongjiang Province] Personnel from the Dongfanghong Forest Bureau Ransacked Practitioners' Homes

Personnel from the Dongfanghong Forest Bureau's Police Station headed by officer Du Hai surrounded practitioner Mr. Chen's home and attempted to arrest him on September 12, 2007. They waited for a long time but did not see Mr. Chen return. They broke into Mr. Chen's home and ransacked the place. They confiscated more than 100 printed copies and 40 CD versions of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a cell phone, an MP3 player, a motorcycle, and some Dafa books.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Yao Siping Sentenced to Forced Labor

Police ransacked practitioner Ms. Yao Siping's home in the Xicheng District, Beijing, two years ago. That is why she has since lived in exile. But police arrested her again recently. It is confirmed that Ms. Yao has been taken to the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp.

10. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Zhou Xiangjin Arrested

Personnel from the Guishan Township Police Station went to several practitioners' homes in Zaoshu'ao Village in early September 2007. After they confiscated Mr. Zhou Xiangjin's satellite TV receiver, the police attempted to arrest him, but Mr. Zhou escaped.

Those police suddenly broke into Mr. Zhou's home again at 8:00 p.m. on September 17, 2007, while Mr. Zhou was taking a shower. They arrested him and put him in the Macheng Administration Detention Center.

Personnel from the Guishan Township Police Station arrested more than 20 practitioners on June 22, 2007. They commenced a large-scale raid on New Tang Dynasty TV program satellite receivers at practitioners' homes. Personnel from the Huangtugang Police Station confiscated a satellite receiver from practitioner Mr. Dai's home and placed the practitioner in a detention center.

11. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Personnel from the Guangzhou City 610 Office and from the Education Bureau Set Up the Qingzheng Campus Website to Defame Falun Gong

Note: The Qingzheng Campus Website has been used to publish articles defaming Falun Gong, in order to brainwash middle school and primary school students in Guangdong Province and turn them against Falun Gong.

12. [Hebei Province] Several Practitioners from Wangdu County Arrested

Personnel from the Baoding City National Security Division and from the court, from the Wangdu County Police Department, the National Security Division and from the Jiacun Township Police Station broke into practitioner Ms. Liu Suguo's home at 5:00 a.m. on September 18, 2007. They ransacked Ms. Liu's home and confiscated a satellite receiver. They put Ms. Liu and her non-practitioner husband in the Gaoling Detention Center.

They also ransacked several practitioners' homes in Nanjia Village, Xijia Village and Beijia Village around 5:00 a.m. The next morning. They confiscated all Dafa materials; all satellite receivers, TVs and video CD players.

13. [Liaoning Province] Police Attempted to Arrest Ms. Cao Lianxiang

Personnel from the Shenyang City Police Department and from the Heping Police Department went to practitioner Ms. Cao Lianxiang's home at 7:00 p.m. on September 12, 2007, but Ms. Cao was not at home.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Guan Yunyan Arrested

Ms. Guan Yuyan was reported to police at 2:00 p.m. on September 10, 2007. Personnel from the Tiexi District Lingkong Police Station arrested her when she posted truth-clarification materials in the Huaxiang No.7 Community in Shenyang City. Ms. Guan is presently being held at the Zaohua Detention Center.

15. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Du Shuxia Arrested

Personnel from the Daqing City Sa'ertu District Police Department broke into 48-year-old practitioner Ms. Du Shuxia's home the morning of September 22, 2007. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer and a printer. They put Ms. Du and another practitioner, Ms. Li Hui, in the city's No.1 Detention Center at 8:00 p.m. that evening.

16. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Persecute Practitioners

Police in Fujin City went to many practitioners' homes to take photos of them. They followed and monitored many practitioners. Several policemen surrounded practitioners Ms. Wang Guifang's and Ms. Liu Guizhen's homes and monitored the practitioners around the clock.

Police arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Xin on the street at 9:00 a.m. on September 17, 2007. They confiscated the key to her home and then ransacked the place. They also arrested practitioners Mr. Wang Jinbao and Ms. Liu Guizhen from their workplaces.

Police arrested practitioner Mr. Gao Liansheng and confiscated a CD burner the morning of September 19, 2007.

17. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Lianshan District Court Agents Plan to Sentence Practitioners

Personnel from the Lianshan District Police Department submitted the cases of practitioners Mr. Yue Peng, Mr. Zhang Zhan'an and Ms. Li Xiuzhen to the district's Procuratorate. The latter charged the practitioners in the district's court on September 5, 2007. It has been heard that the court agents will sentence the three practitioners in early October 2007.

Mr. Zhang Ximing and his wife are now living away from home in order to avoid further persecution.

19. [Beijing] A Teacher at the Beijing Industrial University Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Zhuang Yanhong, who got her Master's degree from Beijing University, is a lecturer at the Department of Politics and Economics in the Beijing Industrial University. Police arrested her at 8:00 a.m. on September 12, 2007.

20. [Beijing] Police Arrested Practitioner Ms. Wang Jingui from the Xicheng District and Ransacked Her Home in September 2007

21. [Beijing] Practitioners Bai Shan and Liu Kejie are Being Held at the Fengtai Detention Center

Mr. Bai Shan and Mr. Liu Kejie are employees at the Chaoyang District Biomedical Research Institute. Police arrested them and put them in the Fengtai District Detention Center on September 13, 2007.

22. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Practitioners Mr. Ma Wenyi, Ms. Wang Xuemei and another female practitioner from Shimenzhai Village, Funing County, Qinhuangdao City, were arrested on September 12, 2007. They are presently being held at the Funing County Brainwashing Center.

23. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Zhu Shuqing and Yang Shiying Arrested

Ms. Zhu Shuqing and Ms. Yang Shiying from Zhangjiakou City were arrested on September 17, 2007. They are presently being held at the city's Shisanli Detention Center.

24. [Guan County, Hebei Province] Police Arrested Practitioner Li Deli

Police arrested Mr. Li Deli at 9:00 p.m. on September 21, 2007. Mr. Li's whereabouts are unknown.

25. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Police arrested several practitioners from Shijiazhuang City the morning of September 21, 2007. They are Mr. Wang Yuying, Ms. Yu Liying, Ms. Li Yumei, Ms. Wang Guifeng, and a practitioner from the Qiaoxi District. All their homes were ransacked. Ms. Yu has been released, but four others are still in detention.

26. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Xiumin To Be Sentenced at the Xinhua District Court

27. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Personnel from the Wangdu County 610 Office Harass Practitioners

Personnel from the Wangdu County 610 Office have been active in the persecution of Falun Gong. A practitioner died as a result being force-fed. These lawless officials ordered local police department in the last two months to harass and arrest practitioners.

Practitioner Mr. Liu Junran was arrested and his home was ransacked on September 23, 2007.

28. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] A Falun Gong Truth Clarification Materials Production Site Damaged

A truth clarification materials production site in the Zhoucun District, Zibo City, was damaged on September 13, 2007. Nine practitioners were arrested. They are Mr. Ma Shuguang and his wife, Ms. Zhang, employees from the No. 83 Factory; Mr. Zhao Qidong and his wife, Ms. Liu Shuyun, from Shuangqing Village, Linchi Town, Zhouping County; the Mr. Zhang Yuanren couple from Xiahe Village, Linchi Town; Mr. Shen Guanglu and his wife, Ms. Sun Feng, from Mengshui Town, the Zhoucun District; and Mr. Gu Yongjun from Gaojia Village, the Zichuan District. Mr. Zhao Qidong's home was ransacked twice, and his father, Mr. Zhao Guangzhi, was arrested and held for a day. Ms. Zhao Xiufen's home was also ransacked. She is Mr. Zhao's sister.

29. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Police Arrested Practitioners Zhang Hongli and Zhang Baoyun

Police followed and then arrested Ms. Zhang Hongli from Cuizhao Town, Pingdu City, from her own pharmacy store on September 17, 2007. They confiscated some Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. The police ordered her family to pay 10, 000 yuan, but her family refused. Ms. Zhang's whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhang Baoyun from Pingdu City was arrested in the Huangdao Area on September 22, 2007.

30. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Police arrested six practitioners from Hanzhuang Village, Nanyuan Town, on September 12, 2007. They confiscated a lot of items including many truth-clarification materials, a computer, and a printer.

31. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Wang Xianxue and Sun Chongzhen Arrested

Personnel from the Junan County 610 Office and from the Dadian Town Police Department ransacked Mr. Wang Xianxue and Ms. Sun Chongzhen's homes. They put Mr. Wang in the town's police department and confiscated some hard copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Mr. Wang escaped from the police department and lives in exile now.

Mr. Wang, in his 60s, is from Duojuguan Village, Dadian Town, Junan County.

Ms. Sun Chongzhen, 40 years old, is from Pengjiashigoudong Village, Dadian Town, Junan County. She was held at the county detention center for a month in July 2003 for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Ms. Sun was subsequently held at the Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp for three years.

32. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Practitioner Zhang Shuling Arrested and Her Home Ransacked

Ms. Zhang Shuling, 71 years old, lives in the residential area of the Xi'an Electronic Technology University. She was arrested when she sent some clothes to one of her fellow practitioners held at a brainwashing center. The police broke into her home in the middle of the night harassed her husband, a 73-year-old professor, and ransacked her home.

33. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Practitioner Sui Yuxia Arrested from Her Home

Ms. Sui Yuxia, in her 60s, from Anhuai Village, Nanjing City, was arrested from her home on September 19, 2007.

34. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Jishan County Police Department arrested practitioner Mr. Zhao Mingtang on September 9, 2007. Mr. Zhao is the sub-contractor's manager for the Houma City Construction and Installation Company's Waterproofing Section. The arrest happened when he distributed truth-clarification materials in Jishan County. He is presently being held at the county detention center.

Practitioners Mr. Chen Lin from Xidian Town and Ms. Zhao Jianhua were arrested on September 9, 2007 when they distributed truth-clarification materials in Jishan County. They are presently being held at the county detention center.

Personnel from the Houma City Police Department arrested practitioner Mr. Yuan Jinming from his home in Beiguoma Village, Houma City in August 2007.

Practitioner Mr. Yao Haizhong was found carrying truth-clarification materials at a checkpoint at the city's railway station in August 2007. Personnel from the railway station's police section arrested him.

Practitioner Mr. Li Yongan's computer had some problems and was sent to a repair shop. As his computer contained Falun Gong files, the repair shop people reported him to personnel from the Houma City Police Department, who then arrested him.

35. [Quwo County, Shanxi Province] Practitioner Wang Zhongyuan Arrested

Personnel from the Quwo County Police Department and from the Houma City Police Department arrested Mr. Wang Zhongyuan from Fengwang Village, Gaoxian Township, Quwo County, on September 18, 2007.

36. [Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province] Police Brutally Beat Practitioner Ms. Zhao Xia

Ms. Zhao Xia works in the Chenggu County Archives Bureau in Shaanxi Province. Personnel from the Mian County Police Department arrested her and brutally beat her for a day.

37. [Chongqing] Thirty Practitioners from the Yubei District Arrested

About 30 practitioners holding a cultivation experience sharing meeting were arrested in the middle of September 2007.

38. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Li Zhixiu and Zhou Zuowang Arrested

Personnel from the Baishazhou Police Station and from the Wuhan City 610 Office arrested Ms. Li Zhixiu and Mr. Zhou Zuowang from the Wuchang District at 10:00 a.m. on September 19, 2007.

39. [Chongqing] Practitioners Xiong Deli and Liu Chaoshu Arrested

Ms. Xiong Deli from Jinfeng Town, the Jiulongpo District, and Ms. Liu Chaoshu from Zengjia Town, the Shapingba District, were arrested in Baishiyi Town, the Jiulongpo District, on September 21, 2007.

40. [Kashi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Practitioner Wang Jianghong Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Wang Jianghong, in his 30s, is an employee from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region Geology Division. Police arrested him in July 2006. His family gave the Kashi City Detention Center 20,000 yuan in bail money. In spite of this, the authorities sentenced him to five years in prison in August 2007. Mr. Wang is presently being held in Wulumuqi City.

41. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Guo Lianzhao and Wang Meihua Disappear

Ms. Guo Lianzhao from Songyuan County, Meizhou City disappeared on September 20, 2007. Ms. Wang Meihua from Meizhou City went missing in Guangzhou City on September 21, 2007.
