(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Guizhen is a retiree from the Yunnan Province Towel Manufacturing Plant who suffered from several illnesses prior to Falun Gong practice and could not even walk. One day her husband, Lu Zuda, pushed her in her wheelchair to a practice site to learn Falun Gong. After a short time practicing, she miraculously recovered from all her health problems, was able to walk with ease, and became a very healthy person. Witnessing Dafa's amazing power, her husband, Lu Zuda, also became a practitioner.
When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, leaders in Mr. Lu's place of employment, the Plantation Branch of Yunnan Province Forestry Research and Planning Institute, started a weekly CCP-organized brainwashing meeting. Mr. Lu was a member of the CCP. They attempted to force him to write criticism statements denouncing Falun Gong. Zhang Deshen was the Party Branch Secretary of their research office. Lu Zuda refused to write anything criticizing Dafa and Master Li, so he was subjected to the brainwashing.
Because Ms. He Guizhen had benefited greatly from her cultivation, she could not stand by and do nothing about the CCP's defamatory smear campaign. She openly practiced the Falun Gong exercises in public in 2002, so the police detained her for a month. Once back home, her workplace leader named her a "key target" to keep tabs on. The factory's Party Committee Secretary, Liu Qiangli, and security department head Zhou Shanfu decided to keep Ms. He under constant surveillance. They were aided by 610 Office personnel from the Panlong District Police Department and also by officers from Changchun Police Station. Policeman Zhao Yongfu often harassed her at her home. They also followed and monitored her constantly. They repeatedly threatened her with arrest and the possibility of sending her to a brainwashing center. She eventually decided to leave home and went into hiding several times.
In the six years of persecution, Ms. He Guizhen and her family endured tremendous pressure and torment. Her husband, Lu Zuda, lived in constant fear and worried about his wife all the time. His health gradually deteriorated and he died on December 4, 2003, at the age of 68.
Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Yulan, who also worked at the towel factory, suffered from long term persecution at the hands of Party secretary Liu Qiangli, security head Zhou Shanfu, and other 610 Office agents. Ms. Wang's home was searched around the time of the 2007 Qingming Festival in the spring. After this, she went missing. Her family refused to reveal anything about her. We appeal to the public to find out anything they can about her whereabouts.
