On the morning of September 27, 2007, Deputy Chief Qiang Gang, male, of the State Security Division of the Baoqing County Police Department in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, conspired with Sun Guangquan, male, from Chaoyang Township government and local police officer Ni Laoliu to arrest at least ten people. They made these arrests without showing any IDs or possessing any search warrants to enter the homes. They forced their way into the home of Mr. Han Changgui in Hongxing Village, Chaoyang Township, and confiscated his family's property. They confiscated Dafa books, exercise tapes, cash, and an axe, which they used to beat Mr. Han Changgui's teenage daughter, Han Hui. After the brutal attack, they apprehended Mr. Han Changgui and took him to the Detention Center of Baoqing County.
Mr. Han was locked in a small cell (1) in the detention center. The cell was so small that he could not stand up or sit down--he could only squat. After enduring this torture for over 40 days, Mr. Han was finally released. Though his family made several attempts to visit him in the detention center, they were turned away each time.
Note:
(1) Small cell - The detainee is confined alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff the practitioner behind his back in a fixed position so that he can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. A bucket in the cell serves as a toilet. Only half of a regular meal is served each day. During the night, rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
