(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 23 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Ransack Mr. Liu Desheng's Home
Mr. Liu Desheng and his wife Ms. Sun Zhanqin are both Falun Dafa practitioners in their 60s, and they worked for the No. 7 Oil Extraction Factory in the Daqing Petroleum Field. On the morning of December 12, 2007, police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Datong District Department and No. 7 Oil Extraction Factory Station ransacked their home and arrested both of them.
2. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Dehai Arrested
On December 7, 2007, Fulin Township Police Station Director Chi Haibo (male) led a group of officers to arrest practitioner Mr. Wang Haibo. He is detained in the Tonghe County Detention Center.

3. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained in the Second Detention Center
On the afternoon of December 10, 2007, police officers from the Yihe Station arrested three practitioners for clarifying the truth. They are detained in the Yingcheng City Second Detention Center.

4. [Beijing City] Several Practitioners Secretly Arrested
On the evening of December 12, 2007, several practitioners, including Ms. Maqingxiu and her husband, were secretly arrested. Their families found out that they were arrested by police from the Chaoyang District Department a week later. There is no further information.
5. [Beijing City] Mr. Hui Shifu and Ms. Wang Yunxiang Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Hui Shifu and Ms. Wang Yunxiang both live in Majuqiao Town, Tongzhou District. At noon on September 25, 2007, police officer Gong Xiuping (male) dispatched officers to arrest both of them based on someone's report that they were clarifying the truth. Police took away their Falun Dafa books, computers, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and a large amount of truth-clarifying materials. They are now detained in the Qiaozhuang Police Station.
6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Police Tried to Arrest Mr. Wang Jinsheng and Ms. Zhang Haiyan
On November 19, 2007, police from the Xingshan Neighborhood Station and the Jinzhou Econ-Tech Development Zone Department tried to arrest practitioners Mr. Wang Jinsheng and Ms. Zhang Haiyan. They ransacked Ms. Zhang Haiyan's home several times and went to Mr. Wang's workplace, but neither of them were present when the police tried to arrest them.

7. [Hebei Province] Ms. Li Runhui Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Li Runhui is employed by the 12th Branch of the No. 2 Oil Extraction Factory in the Northern China Petroleum Field. At around 9:30 a.m. on December 11, 2007, the 12th Branch Director Li Shizhong had police arrest Ms. Li Runhui.
8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zheng Xin and Her Husband Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Zheng Xin is a retired teacher from Rushan City (under Weihai City jurisdiction) and lives in Laishan District, Yantai City. At around 5 p.m. on December 6, 2007, police from the District Department arrested her and her husband at their home and ransacked the place. Their daughter bailed her husband out after the police extorted 6,000 yuan from them, but Ms. Zheng is still detained in the Fushan Detention Center.
9. [Fengcheng City Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Yuncheng Detained for Nearly Two Years
Practitioner Mr. Liang Yuncheng lives in Fengcheng City. He was arrested on January 3, 2006 by police from the Kuandian County Department, sentenced to two years forced labor, and served his term in the Benxi City Labor Camp. After being tortured for several months, he still refused to accept the brainwashing and was transferred to the Anshan City Labor Camp. His two year-term will end on January 2, 2008.
10. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Put on Trial
On August 1, 2007, police from Lingyuan City arrested more than forty practitioners. On the way to take them to be detained in the Lingyuan City Detention Center, Ms. Hu Yanrong died. Among the practitioners arrested, Ms. Han Fengzhen, Ms. Zhang Guiju, Ms. Ma Yanhua, Ms. Li Jingfang, Ms. Li Zhanguang, Mr. Liu Jincheng, Ms. Guo Fengxian, Ms. Dong Xiuqin, and Mr. Wang Xuejun were tried at the Lingyuan City Court on November 28, 2007.

11. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Persecution of Ms. Xu Guiqing
Practitioner Ms. Xu Guiqing, 59, lives in Baishishan, Jiaohe City. On July 26, 2007, seven male police officers from the Baishishan Station stormed into Ms. Xu's home, twisted her hands behind her back, and pressed her down to the floor. They ransacked her home and took her Falun Dafa books, copies of Minghui Weekly, truth-clarification videos, a personal telephone book, and 500 yuan cash. They took her into custody, interrogated her at the police station, then detained her in the Baishishan Detention Center. Ms. Xu Guiqing had a severe headache, her body went numb, and she vomited. She was rushed to the hospital. Doctor said her symptoms indicated that she had suffered a concussion. The police released her after extorting 5,000 yuan from her family and threatened to sentence her to forced labor if they would not pay the money. Her family had to the borrow money to pay the illegal fine in order to take her home.
12. [Baiquan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Jinrong and Others Arrested
On December 8, 2007, police climbed into practitioner Ms. Liu Jinrong's yard from the neighbor's yard and broke into her home. They took all Falun Dafa books and a photo of the founder of Falun Dafa. They arrested Ms. Liu Jinrong and Ms. Li Guimin and her neighbor Ms. Yang Yanqiu, who were visiting, to the No. 2 Police Station. They interrogated Ms. Li Guimin while she was handcuffed and released her at midnight after extorting 5,000 yuan as "guarantee money." Ms. Liu Jinrong was released at midnight as well.
13. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Xiunan Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Li Xiunan, in his 50s, went out at around 7 p.m. on December 9, 2007, but he never returned. An information source revealed that he is detained in the Yanji City Detention Center.
14. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Sun Hui from Weijin Town, Dongliao County, Liaoyuan City Arrested on December 11, 2007
15. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Zuohe and Ms. Meng Qingying Sent to Forced Labor
Practitioner Mr. Zhang Zuohe lives in Zhigou Town, Zhucheng City. On November 27, 2007, Domestic Security Agents from the Zhucheng City Police Department took Mr. Zhang to the Jinan City Second Labor Camp located in Guanzhuang Township, Zhangqiu City. She has been given a one year term.
On December 4, 2007, practitioner Ms. Meng Qingying from Jiayue Town was taken by Domestic Security agents from the Zhucheng City Police Department to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
At around 3 p.m. on December 11, 2007, police from Zhigou Town Station stormed into practitioners Mr. Zang Chuanyi and his wife Ms. Li (given name unknown)'s home and ransacked the place. They arrested Ms. Li and detained her in the Zhucheng City Detention Center.

16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
On December 10, 2007, practitioner Mr. Liu Pengfei from Pingfang District and another fellow practitioner (name and gender unknown) were arrested in Yaodi Neighborhood in Shuangyashan City. The police ransacked Mr. Liu's home.
17. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Left Home to Avoid Persecution
On December 11, 2007, the police from Xiaogan City went to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu's house to arrest her. At that time, she was not at home. Ms. Xu has been arrested multiple times by police of the Xiaogan City 610 Office. This time, Ms. Xu left home to avoid of being arrested again.
18. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Huo Guiqin Arrested and Detained
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Huo Guiqin, a resident of Qinghemen District in Fuxin City, was arrested by police from the Qinghe Police Station at 2:00 p.m. on December 12, 2007. On the night of December 12, 2007, she was detained at the Qinghe Police Station.

Reportedly, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Fang Zhengping was arrested at Suijiang County, Yunnan Province on October 14, 2007. He was scheduled to go on trial on December 13, 2007 at the local court.

20. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Several Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested Recently at Mashan Town, Changqing District
21. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fan Huilan Mistreated
On the night of August 25, 2006, police from the 610 Office headed by Tang Gongming (male) went to Ms. Fan Huilan's house and arrested her. They also confiscated Dafa books, tapes and a photo of the founder of Falun Dafa. Ms. Fan was taken to a detention center. After she was detained for over 25 days, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was held at the Second Ward of the Zibo City Labor Camp. Ms. Fan was locked in a small cell (1) and was not allowed to sleep, eat, or use the restroom. She was tortured for 18 days. Suddenly Ms. Fan Huilan developed heart problems, but the malicious guards said she was only pretending to be sick.
Note:
(1) Small Cell: The detainee is locked up in a very small cell alone. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night rats scurry about the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
