(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Bian Lingyun has been detained at the Ganqika Detention Center in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region since last May. Recently, she developed a life-threatening ovarian tumor.

Ms. Bian Lingyun previously lived in Shulan City, Jilin Province. As the persecution against Falun Gong worsened in China, officers from the Huancheng Police Station frequently harassed her at home. Every member of Ms. Bian's family experienced anxiety and fear from this harassment, and both her parents and her son fell ill. In an attempt to maintain a normal life, Ms. Bian's family moved to Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On the morning of May 7, 2008, Liu Changqing led police from the Tongliao City Police Department in a raid of Ms. Bian Lingyun's home. They arrested her, ransacked the place, and seized all of her family's belongings, including two bank cards containing several thousand yuan that they had put aside for her son's tuition, a video player, her son's allowance (coins worth about eighty yuan), cosmetics, children's food, an alarm clock, travel bags, etc.

The family fell into turmoil. Ms. Bian's son was no longer able to attend school because of the seizure of his tuition. Ms. Bian's husband, Mr. Song Junfang, joined his son on a trip to the Domestic Security Section of Horqin District Police Department to demand the release of his wife and the return of their money and property. Mr. Song questioned the police, "Which law did my wife break?" There was no answer. Mr. Song further asked, "Why is my wife imprisoned without having committed any crime, while burglars run free? What is the government doing? Where is the justice?" The police did not answer. Mr. Song asked, "Why did you seize my hard-earned money?" The police replied, "You claim that you earned the money. But you have no proof. We need to investigate."

Mr. Song Junfang and his son have gone to the Domestic Security Division daily since last August to demand the release of Ms. Bian and the return of their money. By the end of September, the father and the son had only 0.9 yuan left in their pockets. The police department was closed for a long October 1 holiday. Mr. Song went to work for five days and then resumed going to the police department daily once it reopened.

Ms. Bian Lingyun developed a life-threatening ovarian tumor after she was imprisoned at the Ganqika Town Detention Center. An officer told Mr. Song in private, "If you give money to someone in the Domestic Security Section, she will be released. Your wife is very ill. It is life-threatening. Saving her is the priority." Where can Mr. Song get the money to satisfy such extortion?

Ms. Bian and Mr. Song are an honest couple. During the summer of 2005, while they were still living in Shulan City, Jilin Province, Mr. Song made a living by driving a tricycle after he was laid off from the Shulan City Vegetable Oil Refinery. One day, he picked up a bag he found lying on the road while passing Shulan City Cultural Square. Inside the bag, he found thousand yuan in cash, two bank cards, and some bills. The cash was more than he earned in two months.

Ms. Bian said to Mr. Song, "We cannot take the money. We should find the owner and return it." Mr. Song replied, "I didn't take this money, I found it on the road." Ms. Bian said, "We should not take someone else's money. The owner will be worried now. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. When one practices, the whole family benefits. If we take someone else's money, we will lose virtue. It is bad for our future. Master told us to be good people and put others first. We are not rich, but we have integrity." Mr. Song agreed, "Dafa is good." They found a business card in the bag. Following this lead, they found the owner, Zhao Shuye, deputy secretary of Shulan County government and director of the Chamber of Commerce. Zhao was so excited when he received his bag, and said, "It is more than one thousand yuan. It is worth 200 to 300 thousand."

The following day, the Shulan City TV channel interviewed Mr. Song. His story aired on the TV station for the next three days.
