(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Huang Chaowu lives in Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province. He has been persecuted to the brink of death at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp in Jiujiang City. His father and former Ruichang County Police Department instructor, Huang Shaojiang, posted bail for him so he could recuperate his health at home. People from the labor camp have been to his home numerous times to harass him. Mr. Huang is emaciated and very weak.
On May 19, 2007, five officers from the Matou branch of the Ruichang City Police Department, acting on a report that Mr. Huang Chaowu was urging people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), broke into Mr. Huang's home and arrested him. At the police department, Mr. Huang was surrounded and beaten by the police, and his handcuffed hands started bleeding. He was taken to the Wanbaoshan Detention Center in Ruichang City, sentenced to two years at the labor camp, and transferred to the Majialong Forced Labor Camp.
To force Mr. Huang to renounce his belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, guard Ke Hua and other guards coerced drug addicts to violently beat Mr. Huang by offering them sentence reductions. They told the drug addicts to, "Beat him until he dies. Don't hit the exposed areas; only hit the hidden areas." This abuse pushed Mr. Huang to the verge of death many times over the past year.
On August 21, 2008, Mr. Huang's wife received reliable information that her husband was tortured to the brink of death by the guards at the labor camp. She invited Mr. Huang's sister and 83-year-old father to accompany her to visit Mr. Huang at Majialong on August 22, 2008. However, the Majialong Forced Labor Camp denied their visit, citing that it wasn't a day for visits. They were still refused even after making repeated requests. In the end, Mr. Huang's wife told them, "It is difficult for us to come here, please let his father see him." They finally agreed.
When Mr. Huang's father saw his son, he was shocked. Huang Chaowu was lying unconscious on a wooden board. His father couldn't contain his anger and immediately demanded, "Look at what you did to him! You must release him now. I'm taking him home." In that situation, the labor camp agreed to let Mr. Huang return home for a one-month sick leave, but conditions were attached. They requested that Mr. Huang's father write a guarantee statement that "guarantees Mr. Huang Chaowu will not study the teachings of Falun Gong, practice the exercises, meet with other practitioners or expose his case." To save his son's life, Mr. Huang agreed to every condition.
After Huang Chaowu returned home, his wife tended to him and he regained consciousness a week later. But he is still unable to take care of his own basic daily functions, so the labor camp extended the sick leave by another month. In the first month, guards from the Majialong Forced Labor Camp went to their home four times attempting to take Mr. Huang back to the labor camp. One time, because his family members were not home, the guards used an all-purpose key to open the door and broke into the home. However, they weren't able to arrest Mr. Huang because it was clear that he was still in critical condition.
Before entering the labor camp this last time, Mr. Huang Chaowu was arrested and persecuted numerous times. On December 3, 2003, he was arrested while passing out truth-clarification materials. Mr. Huang went on a 15-day hunger strike to resist the persecution while at the Ruichang City Detention Center. Afterwards, he was sentenced to Jiujiang Labor Camp for one year and ten months (which was extended by one month). In the Jiujiang Forced Labor Camp, Third Ward, he was pressured to write a repentance statement. He went on hunger strikes and was force-fed by guards surnamed Chen and others. Two of his lower teeth were pried out in the process. The guards wouldn't let him sleep and in the mornings, he had to do forced labor and was subjected to brainwashing attempts. Afterwards, the guard surnamed Chen transferred Mr. Huang to the Second Ward. A guard surnamed Deng tried to force him to write a "repentance statement," but he refused, maintaining that cultivation practice wasn't wrong. The guard incited prisoners to brainwash Mr. Huang, forced him to face the wall and handcuffed his hands to the window with his feet off the ground. At that time, Mr. Huang was already unconscious, so they splashed cold water on him. Mr. Huang's hands were handcuffed for an entire afternoon. His hands were swollen and numb with yellow blisters, he was shivering and his feet were also swollen. He was taken to the medical department for treatment and had to pay the medical bills himself. After twenty days of treatment, he improved slightly. Mr. Huang had many injuries to his hands, his fingers became deformed and it was difficult for him to walk. The guards ignored Mr. Huang's condition and even added one month to the sentence before releasing him. The guards threatened him, saying, "You'd better not talk about your experiences at the labor camp to others."
