Mr. Jiang Yunhong, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Sichuan Province, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2005. The prison term should have ended on July 26, 2008. On July 25, 2008, Mr. Jiang's mother, who is over eighty years old, went to Wumaping Jail to take him home, but the jail authorities refused to release him. After Mr. Jiang was forcibly taken into custody in July 2005, he suffered from inhuman torture and nearly died. Later on, he was sentenced to three years by Chenghua District Court in Chengdu City. The court did not hold a hearing, and did not even allow Mr. Jiang to defend himself. They only made the so called "judgment" on Mr. Jiang who had been tortured to the point of critical illness and was being held at Qingyang District Hospital. Finally, they used a stretcher to take Mr. Jiang, who needed oxygen to survive, to Wumaping Jail from the hospital. In the last two years, Mr. Jiang was declared critically ill five times. His current health condition is still very serious.
