(Clearwisdom) Mr. Ouyang Zhandong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Morin Dawa Prefecture, is in critical condition due to the abuse he endured in Baoding Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province. He suffered a stroke due to high blood pressure, which was the result of relentless persecution. He is now paralyzed and bedridden. The forced labor camp officials have refused to release him and have refused to let his family or his lawyer see him.
Mr. Ouyang is a resident of Nierji Town in Moring Dawa Prefecture. His parents live in Dayangshu Town in Oroqen Prefecture. Ever since the Chinese Communist regime started the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, Mr. Ouyang has been the target of local officials, including Zhang Shibin, the director of the 610 Office in Moring Dawa Prefecture. Mr. Ouyang was sentenced to three years of forced labor in 2004 and was transferred to the Heilongjiang Province Prison in Suihua City in 2006. The transfer was a result of the exposure of the harvesting of organs from living practitioners in Sujiatun secret concentration camp in Shenyang City. Mr. Ouyang was released after serving a full three-year term.
In late February 2008, Zhang Shibin again constantly harassed and intimidated Mr. Ouyang's elderly parents, demanding that they turn their son in to the authorities. As a result, his parents, who are in their 80s, have been living in fear for their son.
Mr. Ouyang was arrested by police from Gaoyang County on June 30, 2008. Gaoyang Detention Center officials lied and said that he could go home in a few days, but the Gaoyang County police secretly transferred Mr. Ouyang to a labor camp without notifying his family. When he was arrested, he was only in his underwear, and has since been without clothing.
Mr. Ouyang is currently detained in the Second Ward of Balizhuang Forced Labor Camp. His elderly mother learned of his critical condition and wanted to visit her son, but her request was turned down by labor camp officials. She became so furious and distraught that she required hospitalization.
We call for people of justice to help rescue Mr. Ouyang of Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region.
