(Clearwisdom.net) Starting in 2003, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) resorted to what was called a "loose on the outside, tight on the inside" policy in suppressing Falun Gong. On the surface, the state-controlled media no longer fabricated much news defaming Falun Gong, yet behind the scenes the Chinese Communist regime has never loosened its persecution of Falun Gong for one second. The reason for such a tactic is simple. On the one hand, the Chinese people had grown tired of the regime's blatant propaganda. On the other hand, the regime can no longer persecute Falun Gong at will because many people, including people in the international community, had learned the truth about the persecution. Also, without openly mentioning Falun Gong, the regime can claim victory in its "fight" against Falun Gong. Because of this, some people think that Falun Gong has been defeated. Others misunderstand that Falun Gong seemingly has disappeared, since there are no Falun Gong practitioners unfurling banners on Tiananmen Square.
As a matter of fact, the CCP is at its wit's end in persecuting Falun Gong, and can longer no hide its failures. The Fifth Internet Experience Sharing Conference for Practitioners in China that began on November 1, 2008 has clearly shown that the the persecution of Falun Gong is a complete failure.
On August 30, the Minghui website announced the conference and accepted experience-sharing articles until October 18. During that time over 10,000 submissions were received. In just one and a half months, not only were practitioners all over China able to learn of the conference, they spent time writing their articles, and then broke through the CCP's Internet blockade to submit them, which is a truly amazing feat given the harsh, restrictive environment in China. Even though we're unable to determine the exact number of practitioners in China, the more than 10,000 submissions alone are enough to suggest that there is still a significant number of people actively practicing Falun Gong. The greetings practitioners send to the founder of Falun Gong during the recent holidays are also a strong indication of the CCP's failure to eradicate the practice.
If people carefully read the experience sharing articles, they can see many important messages conveyed within. The regime has always attempted to portray Falun Gong practitioners as illiterate and poorly educated people. However, from these articles it is evident that practitioners come from all walks of life and they represent mainstream society. We can also see that Falun Gong has enabled practitioners to improve their morality, which is especially precious in China's present day Communist-driven society that is dominated by corruption and the loss of commonly held moral standards. Moreover, these articles tell us where the number of the people who withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated associations have come from, and they help to show that resisting the persecution is not the same as getting involved in politics.
The conference articles reveal that there are a large number of practitioners in China who have been solidly cultivating Falun Gong all along, despite the persecution. The CCP's torture cannot move them, nor can its lies confuse them. They are actively practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in that harsh environment, which deeply frightens their tormentors.
The CCP has long wanted to eliminate Falun Gong, but not only can it not eliminate Falun Gong, new practitioners are beginning to practice cultivation. Among the published conference articles, several were written by new practitioners. For instance, one article was written by a practitioner from Yanbian, Jilin Province, who began cultivation in 2002. Another practitioner from Baoding, Hebei Province started practicing Falun Gong during the 2003 SARS period. A third practitioner took up the practice in November 2006. Despite the CCP's persecution, they nonetheless began their cultivation of Falun Gong.
There are also practitioners who, under the Party's coercion and torture, temporarily gave up their beliefs, but "Falun Dafa is good" is deeply rooted in their hearts. So after their release from forced labor camps, prisons or brainwashing centers, they realized their mistake and took up cultivation again. In fact, these Falun Dafa practitioners became even more determined, and the CCP's lies could no longer confuse them.
Falun Gong has spread to over 80 countries worldwide. When Chinese people leave China to vacation in other parts of the world, they see Falun Gong practitioners in many of their destinations. In the entire world, only the CCP has made Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance its enemy and seeks to eradicate those precious principles from people's hearts. This has proven to be impossible.
Those who have some knowledge of the CCP's history know that the party has never been lenient in attacking dissidents. In its sixty years of being in power, it has annihilated anyone named as its enemy very quickly, except for Falun Gong. Why does Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance have such enormous power? This is something worth contemplating.
