(Clearwisdom.net) On December 8, 2008, the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) court illegally sentenced Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wang Zhongqiong and Ms. Chen Ru to four years and three years in prison respectively. During the trial, the judge did not allow either their relatives to defend them or the assignment of a defender. The trial was conducted in a hurried and careless manner.
Many policemen from the National Security Groups of Deyang City and Shifang City showed up in the courtroom. After the trial, an unidentified person was video-recording all the people walking out of the court.
Ms. Wang Zhongqiong is 69 years old. On the morning of October 12, 2007, she and her husband were arrested by officers from the National Security Group of Shifang City. Her husband was released that same evening, but she has been held in the Deyang City Detention Center ever since. It was said that the couple had heard that their daughter, practitioner Gong Xincan, was transferred from Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp back to the local area. However, they had not heard any official notice for a long time. In order to find out more information from the government, they went from Shifang City to Deyang City. Two days after that, Ms. Wang was arrested. She has now been sentenced to four years in jail.
Ms. Chen Ru is 47 years old. On October 11 and 12, 2007, officers from the National Security Group of Shifang City Police Department and Chengdong Police Station arrested 19 local practitioners, including Ms. Chen. She has been held in the Shifang City Detention Center ever since. She has now been sentenced to a three-year prison term.
What is the evidence that the policemen utilized to find Falun Gong practitioners? They took pictures of practitioners greeting each other in public. The police even arrested two non-practitioners, including Yang from Shifang Steel Plant and Liu, a retiree from Shifang Train Station. Because they talked to Falun Gong practitioners on the street, their pictures were taken by Liu Hongjian from the National Security Group. They were also arrested but later released.
