German Amnesty International Study Meeting Examines the CCP Disregard for Human Rights (photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) To acknowledge the 60^th Anniversary of Human Rights Day, Amnesty International in the Cham area of Germany held a study session in the Kotzting library. Ms Anna Weinzierl, regional chair of Amnesty International, read aloud an excerpt from lawyer Gao Zhisheng's book entitled A China More Just. It included lawyer Gao's statement that he had quit the CCP. The activity was organized by the Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group of Cham, and gained the approval of the Mayor of Kotzting and the support of the director of the city library.

The Kotztinger daily newspaper (Kotztinger Zeitung) reported on the study session.

In The Bayerwald-Echo newspaper, Kotztinger's local front page headline reported on the study session.

The Rundschau Weekly carried a picture of the study session in its periodical.

The human rights workers of Cham hoped that the study session would motivate people to pay closer attention to the persecution of human rights taking place in China and give their support to groups in a disadvantageous position.

Evangelischer Pfarr is a Protestant pastor in Kotztinger. He attended the study session with much interest. At the discussion afterwards, he spoke especially about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, and said how he has always paid close attention to the issue.

Monika Hofmaier had read Mr. Gao's autobiography before coming to the study session. She was shocked by the human rights persecution in China. She said she could not imagine that such an inhuman persecution of Falun Gong could actually be occurring in the world today. Although it was inconvenient for her, she attended the study session in her wheelchair.

In addition, Anna Weinzierl said that choosing to hold the study session in Kotztinger was very meaningful. It is well known that Germany's first Chinese hospital is located in Kotztinger, which has a direct relationship with China. It is hoped that, while we are benefiting from traditional Chinese medicine, nbody does underestimates the horror of the persecution taking place in China today under the autocracy of the CCP.

After the session, Amnesty International did an on-the-spot collection of signatures, demanding the release of lawyer Gao, and sent the document to China.

The media noted the importance of the study session, and the Kotztinger Zeitung, the Bayerwald Echo, and the Rungschau all covered the activity in both print and photographs.
