(Clearwisdom.net) In the weeks leading up to the Beijing Olympic Games, nine Falun Gong practitioners in Yangyuan County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province were arrested and taken to the Zhangjiakou Brainwashing Center. Some other practitioners were arrested and sent to the detention center and then were transferred to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. Two other Dafa practitioners were sentenced to forced labor camps.
Around 4:30am on July 21, 2008, nine Falun Gong practitioners in our county were taken to a so-called "legal system school," actually a brainwashing center, in Zhangjiakou, by police from the Yangyuan County Public Security Bureau, the Sanmafang Township Police Station and the Huashaoying Town Police Station along with officials in the township government. Those arrested are as follows:
Yangyuan County: Ma Xiuqin, Li Fuxian
Sanmafang Township: Liu Mao, Miao Zhuzeng, Ma Runlian, Wang Shixiang
Huashaoying Town: Li Gailin, Li Junlian, Zhang Fengzhi
Zhu Yuming from the Militia Unit in Huashaoying Town brought a group of people and jumped over a wall to break into the home of Mr. Li Gailin. They took Mr. Li away in his underclothes. They stuffed Mr. Li under the seats in the car and broke his leg. It was very brutal. Li Gailin's wife was scared so much that she was admitted to hospital. It brought a lot of pain to their family.
Dafa practitioner Zhang Fengzhi in Huashaoying Town was taken away by four or five people led by Yang Yishun, director of Huashaoying Police Station and Yao Guizhong, director of the judicial office. Li Junlian was arrested by a group of people led by Miao Shijiang from the Political and Judiciary Committee. Before her arrest, when Ms. Li was not at home, they confiscated Dafa books from her home. After Ms. Li was released she returned home to her husband who was sick and could not get out of bed. However both were chased away by local officials and were not allowed to stay locally.
Wang Shengmin, Bai Yurong, Sun Yumin, Zhang Shaozhen, Xin Yongxiao and Li Liandong were also arrested during this time. Among them, Dafa practitioners Sun Yumin, Zhang Shaozhen, Bai Shengmin and Bai Yurong in Gaoqiang Township were taken to a detention center on July 30, 2008. They were then sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison on September 17, 2008. Dafa books were confiscated from Wang Shengmin's home. A computer, two cell phones and a Dafa book were confiscated from Sun Yumin's home.
Dafa practitioners Xin Yongxiao and Li Liandong, who had already been sentenced to a labor camp three times, were sent directly to forced labor camps in Daxing County, Beijing.
The nine Dafa disciples who were sent to the brainwashing center have now all returned home. Zhang Shaozhen who was sent to the forced labor camp was sent back home since she did not pass the physical examination.
