(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Lei Zhengxia, is a 62-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Shapingba District, Chongqing City, and a retired teacher from No. 59 High School. On January 14, 2008, he was arrested from his home by police officers led by Li Hong of the national protection brigade in Shapingba District Public Security Sub-bureau of Chongqing. The January 15th detention notice sent to Li Weiqun, his wife, had no case officer's signature. Afterwards, a person by the name of Chen Linxiao told Lei's younger sister he was the case officer from the Sub-bureau.
Shapingba District police officers in Baihelin followed the orders of Li Hong. They interrogated Lei Zhengxia by use of torture every day. Policeman Li Hong personally attacked Lei Zhengxia's stomach, chest and other vital spots of his body until all the internal organs were severely damaged. Lei's stomach had burst from the torture. Police sent him to the hospital on January 27th where emergency surgery was performed.
We heard that the medical and operation fees reached nearly 40,000 yuan through February 2. The police didn't want to pay for the medical expenses since that might mean legal responsibility for the interrogation by torture and intentional injury. They notified his family to pick him up at the hospital. Lei Zhengxia's younger sister and other family members worry about being able to afford the huge amounts of medical expenses. They didn't dare to take him home immediately.
