"The show gave people ample space for imagination and the choreography had great rhythm. It was such a splendor, and it gave you a feeling of compassion from divine beings. I didn't want to take my eyes away from the stage for one second. It's absolutely worthed the time," Mr. Ahn said.
National Assembly member Sang-soo Ahn enjoyed the show
While the assemblyman is working very hard in preparation for the April election of the Assembly, the performance of the Divine Performing Arts gave him a precious moment of peace. Among the numbers, Mr. Ahn said that he was mostly impressed by the Mongolian Bowl Dance. "The dancers had unbelievable balance, as no bowl was dropped while they were dancing so rigorously."
After the 2007 Spectacular, this is the second time for the assemblyman to see a performance of the Divine Performing Arts. Ahn said that the Spectacular was very special and attractive as it portrayed traditional Chinese culture, dance, history and values. Talking about the interference from the Chinese Communist Party, he said: "Culture performance in Korea should be protected from any interference."
Seoul Anti-Corruption Committee representative Rong Yi (phonetic) highly praised the Spectacular. He emphasized that the show contains deep philosophical principles and people should enlighten to the very message of this show.
Human rights activist Rong Yi was touched by the number which depicted the perseverance of Falun Gong practitioners in the face of the brutal persecution
As a human rights activist, in the past several years Mr. Yi has been working very hard to fight for the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners in China. "I know it is not easy to have the show in Korea because of interference from the Chinese Communist regime. However, the farther they go, the more they will lose public support. The number which depicted the perseverance of Falun Gong practitioners was very touching. I respect their faithful hearts."
"I now have a brand new understanding of Chinese culture. The beautiful costumes and glorious dancing are so informative to me. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity to see such a great show," Yi added
Sejong University art director Yu-qing Kim (phonetic) was touched more by the spiritual side of the show. "The dancers coordinated very well, yet each of them is unique. They not only dance to the music, they perform with their hearts. The achievement of the group and each individual performer could not be possible if they didn't have a spiritual belief. "
As an artist, Mr. Kim sensed the spiritual element of the show
The dance, "The Risen Lotus Flower," which portrayed the courage and faith of Falun Gong practitioners in China tested by the brutal persecution, impressed the artist deeply. "I can deeply sense that people's love and joy in faith are being suppressed in China and I have a feeling that the faith will grow again from the bottom up."
The dance, "The Power of Awareness" received eight rounds of warm applause from the audience. Mr. Wang and his wife came to Korea several months ago and they loved this number. Wang said: "I like 'The Power of Awareness'; the part in which everyone in the park stepped up to confront the evil was very touching. Everyone should have a sense of justice and should step up in a situation like this as portrayed."
Mr. Pak came from Heilongjiang Province. While his wife and son applauded after every number, Pak was basically motionless. After the show, he said: "I was deeply moved by the three characters projected on the backdrop during 'The Power of Awareness' -Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance."
