(Clearwisdom.net) The second performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor in New York was staged in Radio City Music Hall on the evening of January 31, 2008. Both Chinese and Western people in the audience beamed with pleasure and sang the show's praises. Many said the show exceeded their expectations.
Consul General of Liberia Gongoer Dowana, Sr., his wife, and three children greatly appreciated the show. Their daughter, Mekayia, said the show was very graceful and extraordinarily charming. Another daughter, Lucy, said that her favorite part was the program about Falun Gong. She had seen Falun Gong practitioners in Manhattan. Mrs. Dowana said the show was "perfect." She was very happy to be there and learn about the Chinese culture. She indicated that she would like to see it again next year.
Mrs. Liu, originally from Hong Kong, watched the show with three of her friends. It was the first time they had seen the show. She said proudly, "The show is great and beautiful! I like the dances. I don't know how to describe such a show. Its message is so unique. It is a great culture! The singers, the Chinese history...It is truly a perfect show!"
Her friend, Mr. Wo, also said it was a great success. "The dances were beautiful! The show expressed a great message: One will eventually be rewarded as far as he is good."
Philip Banks, Jr., President of One Hundred Black Men, Inc. of New York, and his wife said they applauded warmly for every performance. Mr. Banks was elaborate in his praise of the show. He said he had never seen such dances before. The music was very touching. He would recommend it to his friends and his community.
Mr. Dario Gazevo, from Europe, said words couldn't describe how great it was. Everything touched his heart deeply and even he--a man--couldn't hold back his tears.
Ms. Hazel Thomas, who works for a health care network in New York, took her daughter and grandchildren to the show. She said with emotion, "I really love this show. The dancers are great! The stories and the philosophy behind the dance are powerful. The costumes were so beautiful! The backdrop is so real! My favorite is 'A Vanished Dream.' Everything in life is just a moment. I love the other performances, too."
