(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Dong Chunmei, a resident of Tongzhaipu Township, Tanghe County, Nanyang City, is around 40 years old. She works at the Tongzhaipu Township Hospital and is a Falun Dafa practitioner.
On the night of January 16, 2008, at around 9:00 p.m, a deputy director of Tanghe County Police Department, along with police officers from the Tongzhaipu Township Station, broke into Ms. Dong's house. They confiscated some of her of property and arrested her. A fellow practitioner, Ms. Yang Xiangzhen, who is in her 60s, heard the ruckus and came over to Ms. Dong's house. Even though she was taking care of Ms. Dong's daughter at the time, she was also arrested.
Within one year, Ms. Dong Chunmei has been arrested by agents of the Tanghe County 610 Office three times. Every time she was arrested, her 14 year-old daughter was left at home without anyone to care for her. She has been suspended from school for several months. This young girl has a very hard time taking care of herself at such a young age.
The whereabouts of Ms. Dong and Ms. Yang Xiangzhen are unknown.
Practitioner Ms. Zhou Shuhua in Nanyang City is almost 70 years old and is a retired employee of the Nanyang City Forestry Station. For eight years she has been arrested and detained many times, and her house has been ransacked. She was sentenced to five years in prison and was tortured until she was very thin and weak. After she was released in late 2007, her house was ransacked by police officers from the Wolong District. Her previous employer called her and harassed her many times. She was denied her retirement pay for an extended period of time.
Ms. Zhou has two daughters, both of whom work very far away. Her husband is a retired employee of a bankrupt enterprise, and receives a limited pension. He has many diseases, including high blood pressure. For many years they have lived difficult lives. They have just been reunited, only to be separated again by the evil police.
The Chinese New Year is coming. We do not know how these lonely older people will make ends meet!
