(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Jiang Jinhua, a well-known Chinese Soprano in New York watched the January 30, 2008 New York City opening performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor in Radio City Music Hall. Ms. Jiang is a Chinese woman from Indonesia, and a renowned figure in Staten Island's Chinese community. She studied in the Department of Music of the National Taiwan Normal University and went later on to study at the National Music College in Rome, Italy. Ms. Jiang has performed in New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, to promote traditional Chinese arts and music. After watching the show, she praised the excellent skills of the male and female dancers and spoke especially highly of Michelle Ren, a lead dancer of the Divine Performing Arts.

Ms. Jiang also commented favorably on the special stage designs, stating that the costumes were beautiful, as were the backdrops, the colors looking soft and refreshing. "The orchestra is very good. All the music was excellent."
Ms. Jiang was surprised to see so many dancers. She did not know where they had come from, saying the team has so many talents. "Not only the solo dancers, but also the many other dancers have rather good skills."
"Rarely have I seen male dancers perform the "Chopstick Zest" dance so well; in the dance "The Power of Awareness," each and every performer was very dedicated to their performances and showed no signs of neglect."
Ms. Jiang said, "The Erhu solo's rhythm is very beautiful. It conveys the emotions very well."
Regarding the performance of "Lady of the Moon," Ms. Jiang said, "Michelle Ren is very beautiful; so are her hand movements, dancing, and her whole figure. She is as beautiful as an angel."
"The dance "Drummers of the Tang Court" was very well choreographed. I like it very much. It has an excellent rhythm and it is pleasant to watch." Ms. Jian said she only wished it were longer.Ms. Tan Minyi, associate director of Staten Island Chinese Association, who attended the show along with Ms. Jiang also spoke highly of Michelle Ren. She said that Michelle's dancing was superb and very beautiful.
Ms. Tan added comments about the beauty of the costumes, and said that the music was quite refreshing. She thought the orchestra and the stage performances were well coordinated. She gave a thumbs-up to the performances "Nymphs of the Sea," "Changbai Girls," "Drummers of the Tang Court," and others.
"This is a rare performance," remarked Ms. Tan, "Many Westerners came to watch the show today, and it was really great to see this [westerners watching a Chinese show] happening."
