(Clearwisdom.net) I am a new practitioner in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. I started practicing Falun Gong in 2005. During the summer of 2005, when I was 58, I was at home by myself when I suddenly passed out and collapsed. I bit my lips, which caused them to bleed. When neighbors found me in this condition, they sent me to Zhongnan Hospital. The shock moved my sons and neighbors to tears. As I lay in the hospital bed, I couldn't stop twitching.
The next day, my younger sister and my sister-in-law rushed from Hankou to see me. (They both practice Falun Gong, but I had repeatedly refused to listen to them when they tried to explain Falun Gong to me.) When they arrived, about seven neighbors, all in tears, surrounded my sickbed. My younger sister approached me and said, "You must believe that Falun Gong is good." She handed me a Falun Gong amulet(1). I was semi-conscious, but I knew what I must do. I accepted the Falun Gong amulet and placed it on my chest over my heart. Then my sister-in-law started to play Teacher's Fa lectures on her MP3 player and put the earphones over my ears. I didn't even realize it when I spontaneously raised my hands to help position the earphones. Apparently I knew only Teacher's Fa lectures could save my life.
After a while, I needed to use the restroom. I removed the blanket and tried to sit up. They immediately helped me to the bathroom. I felt better, but I was still unable to speak. Zhongnan Hospital kept me for about a week for observation, but didn't administer any medications or injections. Yet I slowly began to speak. Finally I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, myocardial strain, and diabetes. My doctor asked me to transfer to another hospital to have surgery. He estimated it would cost around 100,000 yuan, but he added that the surgery might not be successful. How would I ever be able to come up with so much money?
My sister and sister-in-law approached me and both suggested, "Let's go home, study the Fa, and practice the Falun Gong exercises." I gladly consented. My ears are filled with Falun Gong's exercise music. But my son was worried and insisted on transferring me to another hospital, so I was transferred to Xiehe Hospital, the most renowned hospital in Wuhan. The brain imaging there confirmed that I had a brain tumor growing on a brain artery. The doctor told me, "We have never operated on a brain artery, so we are not very confident that the surgery will be a success. If you decide to go ahead and have the surgery, it will cost you about 100,000 yuan. If you decide not to have the surgery, you can check out of the hospital, but you must be restricted to bed and you must not walk." The doctor told my family to let me eat whatever I wanted. By saying this, he was hinting that my days were numbered. My family are blue-collar workers and do not have much savings. The huge expense of the surgery convinced my son to give up on the idea.
When I returned home from the hospital, I got out of the taxi cab without any help. I didn't stay in bed for even a day. I insisted on practicing the Falun Gong exercises. My sister and sister-in-law sent me Teacher's Falun Gong exercise video, from which I learned the exercises. I listened to Teacher's Fa lectures whenever I had time. In just a few days, I could look after myself, as though I had never been ill. It was Falun Gong that saved my life. It was Teacher who gave me a second lease on life. Every time I think of it, I am filled with feelings of gratitude beyond words.
My neighbors living in the same court witnessed my near-death experience and Falun Gong's miraculous healing power. They were amazed and impressed. They started to discuss my story and commented in agreement, "Falun Gong is truly miraculous! It looks like the stories run by the Chinese Communist Party to justify the persecution of Falun Gong are complete falsehoods." Four of my neighbors began to practice Falun Gong. Another younger sister of mine and her husband also joined me in the practice after they learned about the miraculous effect it had on me.

(1) Amulet - In China, practitioners sometimes clarify the truth by giving people something small to wear or cherish, bearing a few words reminding them of the goodness of Dafa.
