(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news includes incidents of persecution that took place in 34 cities or counties in 12 provinces. These reports contain information on the brutal treatment of 27 practitioners during detention and the illegal arrest of 48 practitioners.
1. [Beijing] Practitioners Persecuted in Tuanhe Women's Forced Labor Camp
Since the end of 2007, the Tuanhe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing has detained many practitioners in its No.1 through No. 8 teams. Most of these practitioners are women over the age of 65. They are monitored by drug addict inmates and are forced daily to undergo a brainwashing technique called "study and pass the test." The camp authorities use all kinds of tactics to coerce steadfast practitioners to "transform." Their methods include sleep deprivation and solitary confinement.
2. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Meiling Arrested
On February 25, 2008, Ms. Liu Jizhi's daughter, Ms. Wei Meiling, was arrested by Beijing police officers while she was working in Beijing. She is currently detained in the Dongchengfang Police Station. The factory she worked for was closed by the authorities, and its manager was arrested. On the same day, the police assigned a large number of policemen to arrest Ms. Liu Jizhi, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
3. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Lu Mengjun Sentenced
On February 4, 2007, Ms. Lu Mengjun was arrested by the local patrol policemen while clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in Shuangfengzipu area. Ms. Lv Songming was arrested with her. Ms. Lu has been sentenced and is currently detained in Changsha City Women's Prison. Ms. Lv is detained in the Jin City Prison in Hunan Province.
4. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zhong Lijun and Others Persecuted
Practitioners who were detained in Xinjin Brainwashing Center prior to the Chinese New Year, including Ms. Zhong Lijun, Ms. Li Caiqiong, Ms. Fan Ma, and Ms. Yan Lijun, were recently transferred elsewhere. Ms. Zhong Lijun and Ms. Li Caiqiong were transferred to the Jinhua Brainwashing Center, and Ms. Fan Ma and Ms. Yan Lijun were sent to the Wenjiang region for further persecution. Ms. Fan Ma is on the verge of death.
5 .[Beijing] Ms. Liu Ying Arrested
On the morning of February 28, 2008, Ms. Liu Ying was arrested while distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials in the Chaoyang District area. The police ransacked her dormitory in Tongzhou District. She is being detained in the Tongzhou District Police Station.
6 .[Shanghai] Additional Information About Ms. Zhang Yuxia and Others' Arrests
Around February 18, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yuxia from Xuhui District of Shanghai was arrested, leaving her two children unattended. Her husband, Mr. Guo Shenghuan, was sentenced to four years of imprisonment in 2007 and is now in Tilanqiao Prison.
Mr. Liu Peng from Xuhui District of Shanghai and his wife, Ms. Zhang Xumei, were arrested around February 18, 2008. A child of theirs was left at home unattended. Mr. Liu had twice been previously sentenced to forced labor terms, during which he was subjected to inhuman torture.
Ms. Li Jinyu and Ms. He Meiyun from Xuhui District of Shanghai were also arrested.
7. [Tianjin City] Recent Update about the Persecution of Ms. Gao Fenglan
In June 2007, Ms. Gao Fenglan was once again arrested in her home and then detained in the Hexi Detention Center. In October 2007, the Hexi Court twice tried her secretly and sentenced her to three years of imprisonment. In January 2008, she was transferred to the Tianjin City Women's Prison. She is extremely weak from being detained and persecuted.
8. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang He Arrested at His Home
On the morning of February 27, 2008, seven to eight policemen from the Guan County Police Department broke into Mr. Zhang He's home and arrested him and several other practitioners who were there at the time. They were taken to the Guan County Detention Center.

12. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Detained
On February 25, 2008, four practitioners went to Songzhikou Village of Baishu Township, Wei County, to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. They were reported by the Songzhikou Village's Communist Party secretary, Wang Xiang, and were arrested. They are currently detained in the Baishu Township Police Station. When their families went to the police station to request their releases, they had over 10,000 yuan extorted from them. Nevertheless, the four practitioners are still being detained.
13. [Xi'an City, Shanxi Province] A Female Practitioner Arrested While Distributing Truth Clarifying Materials
A female practitioner around 70 years old from Xi'an City was arrested recently while distributing truth clarification materials in Xi'an City, and her home was ransacked. She is currently in the local brainwashing center.
14. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Shi Zhangmei Still Tortured in Wuhan City Women's Prison
In April 2006, Ms. Shi Zhangmei, over 50, from Er'yan Village of the Huaguo Street Neighborhood, Zhangwan District, Shiyan City, was reported and arrested while explaining the truth about Falun Gong. She was later secretly sentenced to three years of imprisonment and detained in the Wuhan City Women's Prison. She has been beaten daily for not giving up her practice of Falun Gong, and her family was denied visitation rights. During January 2008, she became extremely weak due to the torture, several of her teeth were knocked out, her hair was completely white, and her blood pressure increased.
15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Xiaojun Arrested
Around 12:30 p.m. on February 28, 2008, Mr. Zhou Xiaojun was arrested on his way to work. Around 3 or 4 o'clock the same day, a group of unidentified persons broke into Mr. Zhou's home, ransacked it, and confiscated two computers and other personal belongings.
16 .[Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Jianping Detained
Ms. Zhou Jianping, 40, from Datonghu Town of Yiyang City was an employee of the Datonghu Cotton Factory. On February 21, 2008, she was reported to the local authorities and arrested from work by the 610 Office for posting banners containing appeals against the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She is now detained in the Nan County Detention Center. Previously, Ms. Zhou was sentenced to one year of forced labor camp in 2001.
17. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Chaoqiong Arrested
Ms. Chen Chaoqiong, over 40 years old, lived at the Plant Seed Company dormitory in Jianshe Street, Guang'an District. On the afternoon of February 26, 2008, she was arrested on her way home and is now detained in the Guang'an District Detention Center.

On the afternoon of February 27, 2008, the Dehui City Police Department and several other police stations deployed multiple police vehicles and officers to arrest Ms. Liu Donghui, Ms. Wang Di, Mr. Liu Bingqi, Ms. Xiang Zi, Mr. Da Jun, Ms. Wang Changying, Ms. Xiao Yan, Ms. Wu Li, Ms. Zhang, Mr. He Wen, Ms. Zhang Guijin, and Mr. Li Zhenyu. The arrested practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

21. [Huilai County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Zhanwen Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the evening of January 10, 2008, Mr. Li Zhanwen from Taipingbao Village of Huailai County was arrested on his way home by members of the Tumu Town Police Station. On the same night, his home was ransacked and his printer and video CD's were confiscated.
Mr. Li is detained in the Ertaizi Detention Center. His wife and daughter went several times to visit him but were turned away by the authorities. Around February 20, 2008, Dong Renzhi, from the public security division of the Huailai County Police Department, transferred Mr. Li to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp.

22. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested by Yingcheng City's Chengnan Police
On the afternoon of February 27, 2008, the Chengnan Police Station of Yingcheng City arrested two practitioners, who are currently detained in the Yingcheng City Second Detention Center.
23. [Beijing] Additional Information about The Arrests of Three Practitioners, Including Liu Yongsheng in Chongwen District
Mr. Guo Longbin, 32, from Northeast China, was arrested at the same time as practitioner Liu Yongsheng. In 2002, Mr. Guo was arrested but managed to escape and was homeless thereafter. It is believed that while he was looking for a job at the Beijing Jinkui Factory, he was followed by the local authorities and later arrested some time after January 24, 2008.
24. [Tianjin City] The Dagang District 610 Office and the Dagang Petroleum Field Police Harass Practitioners
From noon to 5 o'clock on the afternoon of February 26, 2008, several policemen from the Tianjin City's Dagang District 610 Office together with the Dagang Petroleum Field Neighborhood's police broke into several practitioners' homes and searched for any personal belongings related to Falun Gong.
25. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Additional Information and Correction to the Details about the Persecution of Mr. Ji Guoxiang
Mr. Ji Guoxiang was assigned by his company to work at the construction site of the Qujing Project Division, Yunnan Province Branch of the Zhonghua Second Construction Corporation. At the construction site, he clarified the truth about Falun Gong in his spare time. On September 11, 2007, he was arrested at his work place by the Qilin Police Branch of the Qujing City Police Department, Yunnan Province, and is currently detained in the No. 6 Team of Yunnan Province Second Forced Labor Camp.
26. [Dianbai County, Guangdong Province] Update on Three Practitioners, Including Ms. Deng Yulian
On February 8, 2008, Ms. Bai Feng's husband (a non-practitioner) drove Ms. Bai Feng and Ms. Deng Yulian to Magang Town to clarify the truth. They were arrested by the local police and are currently detained in the Dianbai County's First Detention Center.
27. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Li Maofeng Subjected to Persecution
Ms. Li Maofeng from Zhenhouzha Village of Hu Town, Jinyun County, is the owner of a local clinic. On February 23, 2008, she clarified the truth to two middle school students and was reported to the local authorities. Li Guowu, captain of the Jinyun County Politics and Security Team, together with Liu Zhaofa, police chief of the Hu Town Police Station, along with a team of several police officers, broke into Ms. Li Maofeng's home, ransacked it, confiscated Falun Gong materials, and arrested her.

28. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wen Xiuqin Arrested
Around 10 a.m. on February 1, 2008, policemen from both the National Security Team and local police station of Fudanjiang City broke into Ms. Wen Xiuqin's home, confiscated her personal computer, MP3 player, and arrested her. She is currently in the local detention center.
29. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Liyan Arrested
After 3:30 p.m. on February 25, 2008, policemen from the Guan County Chengguan Police Station arrested Ms. Jiang Liyan at her work place at the Guan County Bureau of Road and Transportation. Ms. Jiang was detained in the Chengguan Police Station and then transferred to Guan County Detention Center on the afternoon of February 26, 2008.
30. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Since September 2007, over 30 practitioners from Qian'an City have been arrested by the local police and detained in the Qian'an City Detention Center or the brainwashing center housed in the Qian'an Plant Seed Company. Most of these practitioners have been released except for Ms. Zhou Huizhong was transferred to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Li Yankui and his wife, Ms. Zhao Minghua; Mr. Li Qingsong; Ms. Cui Qingru; Ms. Wang Weiyue; and several unnamed practitioners who are still in the Qian'an City Detention Center.
31. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Teng Wenzhi Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment
Ms. Teng Wenzhi was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She was held in the Pulandian area and was transferred to Shenyang City sometime between February 29, 2008, and March 10, 2008.
32. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Mr. Wang Jianqi, Mr. Wang Jianquan, and Their Families
Around 4 a.m. on February 25, 2008, policemen from the Panjin City National Security Team broke into the Wang family residence in Yangjuanzibeijing and and arrested Mr. Wang Jianqi; his brother, Mr. Wang Jianquan; Mr. Wang Jianquan's wife, Ms. Wang Chunling; and his son, Mr. Wang Biao, a non-practitioner. They are still being held in the Tuweizi Detention Center in the Panshan area.
33. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lv Yongzhen and Ms. Xiao Binzi Arrested
Around 10 a.m. on February 27, 2008, Ms. Lv Yongzheng and Ms. Xiao Binzi from Tonghua City went to Toudao Town in Ji'an City, distributed truth-clarification materials, and were arrested by the Toudao Town Police Station of Ji'an City.

36. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Lina Sentenced to Forced Labor
On November 5, 2007, Ms. Jia Lina, 68, was reported to the local authorities while clarifying the truth in front of a school. She was then arrested and sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She is currently detained in Zaohua Women's Prison in Yuhong District of Shenyang City.
37. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Haiyan, Ms. Wang Dongmei and Ms. Sun Yuxia Arrested
On February 27, 2008, four practitioners from Dehui City, including Ms. Liu Haiyan and Ms. Wang Dongmei, were arrested.
From 10 p.m. to midnight on February 27, 2008, policemen from the Shichangshu Police Station of Dehui City went to Ms. Wang Di's home in Heiyu Village, Yangshu Town and confiscated her Falun Gong books.
On the morning of February 28, 2008, policemen from the Yangshu Town Police Station went to Mr. Liu Lianbo's home in Xiajia Village of Yangshu Town. Mr. Liu was not home at the time, but the police confiscated his Falun Gong books. Afterwards, they went to Ms. Sun Yuxia's home in Erdao Village of Yang Shu Town and arrested her daughter, Ms. Zhao Yue. Ms. Zhao was released after the police extorted 3,000 "yuan" from her. Ms. Sun was transferred to Dehui City.
38. [Fuyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Mei'e and Ms. Sun Yunna Arrested
On February 26, 2008, Ms. Wu Mei'e was arrested by the Fuyuan County National Security Team. Afterwards, her daughter, Ms. Sun Yunna, was also arrested at her home and has since been detained in the Fuyuan County Detention Center. Ms. Wu's blood pressure has increased to 190 due to abuse by the police, and she is being treated at the county hospital.
