(Clearwisdom.net) Although I originally knew nothing about computers, I taught myself how to use computers step by step, and I have even been able to provide technical support to fellow practitioners in my area, including choosing which computer to buy and buying the correct equipment for it. Therefore, I understand the feelings of fellow practitioners who have just started learning about computers and I also know the feelings of those fellow practitioners who have some expertise with computers. In the article "Doing Technical Work to Validate Falun Dafa" (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/4/95050.html), it says, "A specific problem could be so tiring to solve. But as soon as a computer expert stood by you, without even touching the computer, the issue often disappeared." This situation does exist and I have personally encountered it before. But, the situations are most likely due to the computer user always thinking of himself as a new user - a person who does not have any knowledge whatsoever about how to use a computer, and so it's due to him always worrying about something that he might have done, or being in the mindset of not knowing what's happening to his computer.

Think about it, if a person always thinks of himself as not knowing how to use a computer, the computer can easily confuse him; if a cultivator always worries about something and assumes that he does not know what's happening to his computer, he will undoubtedly encounter some issue which he cannot resolve. At that moment, they are not thinking of themselves as cultivators but are, instead, in a panic. When a fellow practitioner who has some knowledge of computers comes to help, the user suddenly feels that he has technical support, so he is not in a panic anymore, and then suddenly the computer works fine. When encountering issues, shouldn't our first thought be about how to resolve the issue with righteous thoughts or should our first thought be to depend on another practitioner's help? We are the masters of the lives in our world. How can we be dependent on the masters of other worlds?

Actually, I started learning about computers because of a dire situation. At that time, all the truth clarification materials production centers in one area were disabled. It was necessary for a practitioner to come forward and teach the local practitioners how to properly use a computer, and also to help them to set up truth clarification materials production centers. It never occurred to me that I would be the one doing it. However, it seemed that I was the only one suitable. I then started acquiring the knowledge necessary for producing truth clarification materials. Miraculously, each time I did not know how to use some software, an idea would pop up in my mind, "Try it this way." It worked each time and it seemed that no software that I had to use could really frustrate me.

Keeping to my habit of focusing on a matter with concentrated effort that I had formed when I was a student, I picked up the skills rapidly. At that time I did not think that I was clever for picking it up. I only appreciated the efforts of those practitioners who had prepared the software and the training materials that allowed me to so quickly acquire all the necessary knowledge. Of course, now I realize that it was actually Master giving me the wisdom.

However, when I started setting up the materials production centers, I still found it very difficult. I not only needed to handle the software, but I also needed to know about hardware maintenance and how to solve all kinds of printer issues, which included buying the correct supplies and choosing which printer to purchase, etc., all of which I had never encountered before. When fellow practitioners looked at me with trust, I told myself not to panic and to simply believe that I would be able to resolve the issue. As a result, the printer issue was indeed resolved through thought communication with the printer. The hardware issue was resolved through sending forth righteous thoughts and then asking for help from someone else, all without spending a penny. In one instance, the computer failed to recognize the printer, which was due to the doubtful mentality of the fellow practitioner who had just started learning computers. This was also resolved with sending forth righteous thoughts, though I did not really know specifically how the issue was resolved.

With regard to purchasing computer supplies, I initially felt overwhelmed when I entered the computer mega store and I felt somewhat anxious. I told myself not to panic and to confidently believe that I could indeed solve the problem. I then gathered price information from different stores and consulted with experienced practitioners. I soon chose the most suitable supplies to buy. I also gathered business cards from the different stores.

I've had many of these kinds of experiences and I've felt in the depths of my mind that Master was next to me, helping me, directing me at the critical moments, and giving me wisdom. What I needed from myself was to not panic and to be confident that I would be able to resolve the problem.

However, whenever I was teaching fellow practitioners how to use the equipment, I found that the main problems were the fellow practitioners themselves, who were anxious and lacked confidence. If a person spent that time that he was supposed to be learning about computers instead in a state of panic, he would have to spend more time and effort to learn. During the learning process, if the person allowed his brain to be overcome with panic and a lack of confidence, then later he would be in a panic and have no confidence in his skills. Moreover, a fellow practitioner should review what he has just learned and he should take notes well, including taking detailed notes about key stroke sequence. Very often when we've had problems, it was due to our having missed responding with an "OK" or having missed a key stroke. It's the same when reading the training material. If an attempted effort failed according to the training material, he should read the material again in detail, so as to not to miss a step.

Therefore, I don't think it matters whether one is a technical support person or the one who is learning, he will be able to either teach well or learn well only if he conducts himself as a practitioner. If he does, he will then be given wisdom. Although we live in a deluded world, we have the Fa and we have Master next to us, guiding us.

A smart person may not be knowledgeable about computers, but Dafa practitioners with wisdom are able to use the computer well for validating Dafa. The purer our mentality is, the better we can handle our computer. If one has impure thoughts, he will encounter many difficulties. In other words, we learn how to use a computer in order to have it serve our purpose, not to be trapped or to be at the mercy of how a computer works and so be manipulated by it. Acquiring the knowledge of how a computer works is necessary for us to be able to give orders to the computer and for practitioners to be able to use that computer as a means of communication.
