(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts New York Company played to a full house for four consecutive shows in three days at Tainan Cultural Center, and then arrived at the second stop of their Taiwan tour -- "Kaohsiung, a port city, on March 4, 2008. The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular will run at the Kaohsiung County Labor Recreation Center for five days. The opening night of the Chinese Spectacular in Kaohsiung was on the evening of March 4. An appreciative audience responded with rounds of overwhelming applause.

Kaohsiung County Magistrate Yang Chiu-hsing praised the Chinese Spectacular, "Fantastic! The dances are exquisite, and the drums are marvelous. 'Lady of the Moon' is fabulous! It's an ancient Chinese legend, and the choreography has deep meaning. The drums are really fantastic, a very high-standard performance. I enjoyed it very much. His wife was amazed at the Divine Performing Arts dancers' quick costume changes and their natural facial expressions. Mrs. Yang liked the dance "Drummers of the Tang Court." She said, "Really marvelous! Their movements were very fast and in sync �" very impressive. It's very hard for so many of them to dance perfectly together on such a stage. I think their training must be very rigorous. Their suppleness of limb is very good, too"

Deputy Magistrate of Kaohsiung County Ye Nan-ming said, "The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular is exquisite; they must have been trained rigorously. Their presentation was very good. The theme was clearly expressed. I was deeply impressed by 'The Risen Lotus Flower.' I hope people sharing the same belief on the other side of the Taiwan Straits keep up [with their faith]. One day there will be the same human rights and religious freedom on the other side of the straights, as we have now in Taiwan."

Lin Tian-Tsung, Director General of Kaohsiung County Government Information Office, attended the Chinese Spectacular on March 4 and was deeply impressed by the 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture portrayed in the dances. He indicated that it was not simple and rather remarkable to present such a wonderful dance performance outside of China.
Mr. Lin feels that Divine Performing Arts preserves China's original culture, particularly, the moral virtues such as loyalty, filial piety, integrity and justice, were presented in the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular very impressively.
Mr. Lin said, "Chinese culture is profound and broad. Five thousand years of culture is indeed a big cultural heritage for Chinese people. If such a wonderful culture is promoted appropriately, it will indeed enrich our Chinese community, even the international stage. It's a cultural asset that we are proud of."
He especially thanked the Divine Performing Arts New York Company for touring Taiwan to promote traditional Chinese culture. He hoped that more people throughout the world will gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.

Mr. You Hong expressed his gratitude to the young performers who have received such good training and brought the most wonderful and exquisite dance performance to Taiwan for the Taiwanese people to enjoy. Famous Taiwanese dancer: Very comfortable, very enjoyable

Famous Taiwan dancer Lee Tsai-E said, "The Divine Performing Arts has showed the art of strength and beauty to the audience. I was really carried away by the splendid performances, especially the drumming scenes. It was very powerful. I felt like I was back in my teenage years. I am 83 now."
Lin Nan, Director of the Chinese Calligraphy Association, found the male dancers in "Drummers of the Tang Court" to carry a powerful and imposing charm in the Chinese tradition. Their performance was terrific, he said.

Wang Hsiu-Chi, Kaohsiung City Calligraphy and Art Researcher and Antiquities and Pottery Connoisseur, attended the Chinese Spectacular. He said afterwards, "The performance was a great success. I was very much touched. I have been looking forward to seeing it for a week. It presents [stories of] the dynasties of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing. The historical drama, 'The Loyalty of Yue Fei' was very touching."
Director of Oil Painting Association: This is the most exquisite show I've ever seen in the past five years
Nan Fong Oil Painting Association Director Lu Zhao-chi was glad to have an opportunity to attend the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular. He was excited and said, "This is the most exquisite show that I have seen in the last five years. It's a performance that is so full of eastern art and humanity."
Mr. Lu, also a poet and oil painter, observed the depth of the performances. He enthused, "The individual performances shown today were all unique eastern arts. The show fully exhibited the true, good, and beautiful Eastern arts.
"From the first number to the last, be it the positive, powerful 'Drummers of the Tang Court' or the very gentle and beautiful 'Water Sleeves,' all are magnificent and exquisite. Additionally, all dances fully expressed the unflinching faith and centripetal force of the country. It deeply moved our hearts, and it profoundly cleansed every audience members' soul," Lu said.

Ji Zheng attended the show and found every dance to be wonderful. She said that the presentation of the dancers, particularly, the colors of the costumes, and inner meaning that each program expressed, were all perfect.
Ji Zheng said that it is remarkable to get together so many top-class dancers and vocalists in the world to perform on the same stage in such a high quality performance.
Ms. Ji won the bronze medal in the Women's 80-meter hurdle race in the 1968 Olympic Games held in Mexico City.
Finance Director: Fantastic, I'll come to see it every year

Mr. Chou Fang-chuan, finance director for an aluminum company, is a Buddhist. He said that he was calm and peaceful after attending the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular. He appreciated that many of the performances depict belief in gods and Buddhas. He said that the performers' dance skills are superb, the costumes are gorgeous and every number is wonderful. He especially liked "Descent of the Celestial Kings," "The Loyalty of Yue Fei," and "The Risen Lotus Flower."
Mr. Chou particularly mentioned the dance, "The Risen Lotus Flower." He said he had seen anti-torture demonstrations that Falun Gong practitioners held in Hong Kong, and has learned that the Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong. He said the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular is very successful and remarked that it's a pity that it cannot be performed in mainland China.

Renowned National Cheng-Kung University Hospital President Chen Chao-Long attended the Chinese Spectacular and said that the historical stories and legends in the performance were so familiar that he felt quite warm inside.
