(Clearwisdom.net) On September 17, 2007, Dalian City practitioner Ms. Sun Xudong in Liaoning Province was illegally arrested and her home was searched by officeres from the Haimao Police Station in the Ganjingzi District of Dalian City, Liaoning Province.
That same day, she was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City. She was then "illegally sentenced" to one and half years of forced labor and taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her husband, Mr. Jiang Delei, was very ill and endured intense mental and physical duress and threats by officials. He died on February 20, 2008, leaving behind their ten-year-old child.
When Mr. Jiang was critically ill, he wanted to see his wife for the last time, but the officials in the forced labor camp refused to honor his request. A relative went to the Haimao Police Station and told the police about Mr. Jiang's condition. The police demanded to see hospital documentation regarding his diagnosis. Even after the police saw it, they still ignored Mr. Jiang's request.
Now this family has fallen apart. School will start soon, but there is no one to care for their child.
Back on June 19, 2007, before the World Economic Forum Conference (DAVOS) was held in Dalian City, the local officials used the conference as a pretext to persecute and arrest practitioners. Haimao Police Station officers illegally imprisoned Ms. Sun for five days and searched her home twice. Deputy Chief Wang Shangang used an electric baton to shock her for two hours, causing many injures.
And in 2001, Ms. Sun was arrested by the police from the Ganjingzi District Police Station and sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. During that period of imprisonment, one of her ankles was severely fractured as a result of torture.
Ms. Sun's husband was in poor health for many years, and their whole family lived solely on Ms. Sun's 400 yuan per month wages. After she was incarcerated in the forced labor camp in 2007, her husband took care of their child even though he was very ill. He went to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp several times to see his wife and ask for her release. The labor camp officials ignored his pleas. During the 2008 Chinese New Year holiday, he took their child to his hometown. His illness got worse, and he died on February 20, 2008.
