The reporter interviewed the couple during intermission. "Very good! Terrific!" were the first words that Mr. Kure said to the reporter. "It's very educational. The presentation was lively and impressive." Mr. Kure said that had never experienced such a unique performance.
Mr. Kure and his wife both had little knowledge of Chinese culture before. After reading the positive reviews of the Chinese Spectacular in Midweek, one of the newspapers in Hawaii, they decided to see it.
Mrs. Kure told the reporter that the most impressive performance was "The Risen Lotus Flower." She said that they had learned about the persecution of Falun Gong from the media. The Chinese Spectacular brought the message to the Hawaiian audience that we should not forget that there are still people in the world who are suffering persecution.
Mrs. Kure said, "My deepest impression was the coordination and harmony of the dance group; it was very graceful. I liked 'The Mongolian Bowl Dance' the most. Their synchronized performance was really beautiful. The backdrop was fantastic. The background was so well coordinated with the dances." Mr. Kure was also highly impressed by the background designs.
