Mr. Sun Yingchun from Lianshui County, Huai'an City was recently arrested and is presently being held in the county detention center.

Mr. Sun had appealed for justice for Falun Gong several times in Beijing and was put in prison three different times. Police had found a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in February 2007 and held him for 15 days.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Bai Shaohua Is in Peril

Mr. Bai Shaohua is in critical condition. He was sentenced to one year and two months of forced labor and held in the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Mr. Bai has severe muscular atrophy and a poor appetite.

Ms. Zheng Yumei, in her 40s, is an employee from the Xuanhua District Gas Company in Zhangjiakou City. Personnel from the Shichang Street Police Station arrested her on April 24, 2008 as she distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer and some Dafa books. Ms. Zhang is presently being held in the Xuanhua Detention Center.

Nine officers from the Jiangdong Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Li and ransacked her home on December 18, 2003. She was released the next day.

Ms. Liu was sentenced to two years in prison in April 2004 and her pension was suspended.

Personnel from the Jiangdong Police Station ransacked Ms. Liu's home again on May 3, 2006.

Ms. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison in September 2006.

6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mingshan County Domestic Security Division Chief Gou Yongqiong arrested Ms. Qing Yuzhen, Ms. Xiaoxia and another practitioner on March 10, 2008. Ms. Qing and Xiaoxia were immediately taken to the county detention center. Police broke into Ms. Yang Zhaoxia's home and ransacked the place at 11:00 p.m. on May 10, 2008. They confiscated a computer, some CDs and a lot of Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Qing, Ms. Yang, Mr. Li Wenfu and another practitioner were imprisoned in the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Xinhua City and the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Zhizhong City, respectively. The police also confiscated satellite dishes from more than 40 practitioners' homes.

Personnel from the Guodian Town Police Station and from the Licheng District Police Department arrested Ms. Xiuying on the morning of May 2, 2008. Personnel from the Jiading Police Station arrested about a dozen practitioners who were watching the Global Chinese New Year Splendor in Ms. Jin Runfang's home on February 22, 2008. They also went to her son Mr. Ma Guobiao's workplace, beat him and held him in the Zhenxin Street Police Station.

Personnel from the Julu County Political and Judiciary Committee, from the 610 Office and from the county police department arrested eight practitioners on April 14, 2008. They confiscated some Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and books.

Ms. Fang Yushan from Yanji City was born in 1965 and graduated from the Jiangsu Province Industrial University. She has been missing since September 2007. Ms. Fang had previously been arrested, in 2002 and 2003.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Shuqin and Ms. Wang Yugui Arrested

Personnel from the Laihua Street Police Precinct arrested 52-year-old Ms. Chen Shuqin and 67-year-old Ms. Wang Yugui at 6:00 p.m. on April 23, 2008. They ransacked their homes and confiscated some Falun Gong books and two copies of Master's pictures. Ms. Chen is being held in the Jilin City Detention Center. Ms. Wang was injured during the forcible arrest. Her blood pressure rose to 200mmHg, so the police released her, for fear of taking responsibility for her condition.

Ms. Shao Jihong, an employee from the Songyuan City Oil Chemical Engineering Company, was arrested and put into the Shanyou Detention Center on April 21, 2008.

Personnel from the Changfeng Police Station arrested 40-year-old Mr. Feng Qi on March 16, 2008. He is being held in the Armed Police Hospital in Hefei City, Anhui Province.

Local police often harass Ms. Fu Jiali and Ms. Xu Lifang from Gudui Township, Huaibin County. Ms. Fu lives away from home now.

Ms. Zhou Junhua from Gudui Township has been put in the Gushi County Detention Center. Police arrested her and her non-practitioner husband Mr. Chen Dexu. Twelve policemen took turns to interrogate them and deprived them of sleep for four days. The police also went to their child's school and ordered the school officials to refuse the child's admission to high school.

21. [Beijing] Ms. Shan Xiuying Held with Extended Term

Ms. Shan Xiuying from the Xiangshan area in the Hai-an District, Beijing was arrested on April 25, 2005 and sentenced to three years in the Beijing Women's Prison. The term has expired, but prison officials did not release her.

Police arrested Mr. Wang Xuezhu and confiscated two computers, three printers, a TV, and a VCD player from his home.

Personnel from the Wanlian Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Chunling from her workplace and ransacked her home at 8:00 a.m. on April 25, 2008. They confiscated a computer, a cellular phone and some Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center in Zaohua Township, the Yuhong District, Shenyang City.

Personnel from the Tieling City Police Department's Politics and Security Section arrested Mr. Fu Shaotie and sentenced him to seven years in prison. He had been held in the Huazi Prison in Shenyang City before he was transferred to the Nanguanling Prison in early 2008.

About a dozen officers from the Pingdu City Police Department arrested Ms. Wang Yunchong and Ms. Xu Aifang from a Falun Gong truth-clarification materials production site the afternoon of May 4, 2008. They confiscated a printer/copier, paper and ink.

Police arrested a practitioner and confiscated a printer/copier, some Falun Gong CDs and materials on May 5, 2008.

Pingdu City police also arrested 58-year-old Mr. Zhong Zhenfu from Changle Town.

Ms. Xu Aifang, 48 years old, works in a mall and has lived away from home since 2000 in order to avoid harassment and arrest.

Personnel from the Jincheng Town Frontier Defense Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Xianyu from her home in Liujia Village, Jincheng Town, Laizhou City on May 5, 2008. They confiscated one of Master's pictures and some Falun Gong books. The police later ransacked the home a second time and confiscated a DVD player and a satellite receiver.

Ms. Wang Xianyu's whereabouts are unknown. Her 90-year-old mother needs her help with daily life.

Ms. Wang Quemei, a retired employee from the Hunan Province Electronic Device Company, was arrested at the Changsha Memorial Garden two weeks ago. Her home was ransacked.

An officer surnamed Li, from the Yaodianzi Police Station, went to Mr. Zhang Jingxi's home in Fengtaizhuang Village, Yaodianzi Town. He confiscated the practitioner's personal phone directory on April 25, 2008 and then went to Mr. Li Kemei's home and confiscated one of Master's pictures and a calendar.

Mr. Ma Duo from Jiamusi City has been held in a detention center for more than four months. It was reported that Mr. Ma's case was submitted to the suburban Procuratorate department on April 29, 2008 and to a suburban court on May 7, 2008.

Personnel from the Qian'an County Police Department arrested nine practitioners. They are Ms. Zhou Guizhi, Ms. Wang Shuxian, Mr. Cui Yongxiang, Ms. Kong Yan, Mr. Gao Deshan, Ms. Liu, Ms. Meng Xianling, Ms. Zhu and Ms. Mu.

Seventy-eight-year-old Ms. Wang Shulan is a retired employee from the Xinjiang Medical University. Personnel from the Shuimogou Police Station in Urumqi City broke into her home and arrested her. Ms. Wang is being held in the Shuimogou Women's Detention Center.

Ms. Tang Jing was arrested in early April 2008. This is her third arrest.

Ms. Li Mei did not return home after going out to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at 4:00 p.m. on May 2, 2008. Personnel from the Jizhong Police Department's Detention Center called Ms. Li's family on the morning of May 5, 2008. Only then did Ms. Li's family learn that she and another practitioner were being held in a detention center.

Personnel from the Fuzhou City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Lin Wanmao, the Gulou Court Civil Section chief in Fuzhou City, on the afternoon of May 5, 2008. They confiscated his laptop computer, a CD player, some Dafa books, a satellite dish and some stamps.

Ms. Li Liqin and Ms. Chen Xiaohong, doctors from the Women and Children Hospital in Fujian Province, were also arrested.

Personnel from the Luohe City Police Department arrested Ms. Dong Yufen and ransacked her home at 7:30 p.m. on May 5, 2008. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Meng Qingyun's family has requested the return of 1,000 yuan on May 5, 2008, which was confiscated when police ransacked Ms. Meng's home. Her salary deposit card has not been returned, either.

40. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Personnel from the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp Forced Mr. Wang Guiming's Family to Cremate His Body

Mr. Wang Guiming from Tonghua City died as a result of persecution in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City on February 29, 2008. Mr. Wang's wife Ms. Han Fengxia tried to reason with the police and seek justice for his wrongful death, but was arrested on April 16, 2008. She was released two weeks later.

Personnel from the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp forced Mr. Wang's family to agree to immediate cremation. Mr. Wang's ashes are being stored in the Tonghua City Cremation Center.

After Mr. Jiang Jianfeng was put into the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp on December 6, 2007, he was made to sit on a hard board from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m daily. Criminal inmates often beat him and otherwise tortured him.

Personnel from the Xingyang City 610 Office and from the Domestic Security Division arrested seven practitioners at 7:00 a.m. on April 15, 2008. Ms. Wang Lianxiang, Ms. Chu Yufeng, Mr. Li Wenjie and Mr. Wang Wanshou are being held in the Sanlizhuang Detention Center. Ms. Li Kehua, Ms. Wu Qingmei and Ms. Shuzhi are being held in the Sunzhai Detention Center.

45. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Shujie and Ms. Qu Yuling Harassed

Personnel from the Baokang Police Department's 610 Office harassed Ms. Zhang Shujie, who was just released from the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in early 2008. The police plotted to harass Ms. Zhang and Ms. Zai Yuling in the name of "protecting the Olympics."

46. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Persecution of Mr. Fan Zhongzhuang - Belated News

Police arrested Mr. Fan Zhongzhuang from Shuinan Village, Wuyun Town, Jinyun County in August 2001.The deputy police chief beat Mr. Fan so badly that Mr. Fan's ear bled and he went deaf in his left ear. Mr. Fan was later sentenced to three years of forced labor. His term was extended by two months prior to his release in October 2004.

Jinyun County Domestic Security Division chief Li Jinliang and personnel from the 610 Office arrested Mr. Fan again from his home on August 9, 2005. They put him in handcuffs and shackles and interrogated him while depriving him of sleep. Mr. Fan sustained a head injury and a neck fracture. He was in a coma for a month in the Lishui City Central Hospital.

47. [Hetian City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Persecution of Mr. Xia Zhengguo - Belated information

Mr. Xia Zhengguo, 31 years old, from Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, graduated from Yangzhou University. He and his girlfriend work in the Hetian City No. 3 Middle School. He was hired because he scored highest on the examination for a teaching position. The school officials withheld his permanent employment because of his Falun Gong practice. Mr. Xia had to work as a temporary employee.

Local police arrested Mr. Xia and held him for 15 days in 2005. Later on, in 2006, personnel from the Hetian City Domestic Security Division and from the 610 Office put him in the city detention center, where he was held for one and a half years.

Mr. Xia's parents made the long trip cross-country to visit their son, but were not allowed to see him. He was sentenced to three years in prison in September 2006. Mr. Xia is being held in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region No. 5 Prison.

48. [Yitong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Chunling Arrested

Personnel from the Baoshou Town Police Station arrested Ms. Song Chunling and ransacked her home at 6:00 p.m. on March 17, 2008. They confiscated some Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials, 5,000 yuan in cash, a cell phone and some Dafa books. Ms Song's family later requested repayment of 3,000 yuan.

The police put Ms. Song in the Yushu City Detention Center at 1:00 a.m. on March 18, 2008. She staged a hunger strike for 15 days in protest. Ms. Song was then sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp on April 2, 2008, but was not accepted because of her disqualifying physical exam. The police extorted 760 yuan from her family.

49. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Dongchang Domestic Security Division and from the Dongchang Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Xiaona and her mother Ms. Yin Guirong at 8:30 p.m. on April 23, 2008.

Police arrested Ms. Liu Baozhen, Ms. Wang Ping and Ms. Wang Ronglan at Ms. Wang Ronglan's home and took them to the Dongchang Police Station. Police Chief Jing Guiquan beat the three practitioners and shocked them with electric batons.

50. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Fengmei Arrested

Thirty-two-year-old Ms. Qu Fengmei from Guanzhuang Village, Wanjiazhuang was arrested from her workplace about two weeks ago.

51. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhimin Held in the Kaiping Detention Center in Tangshan City

Ms. Li Zhimin, a retired teacher in Yutian County, was arrested on the morning of March 11, 2008 and held in the county detention center for 15 days. Personnel from the county police department duped Ms. Li into coming to the Yutian Town Police Station and then sentenced her to two years of forced labor in the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.

52. [Guangxi Autonomous Region] Guilin City Police Department Arrest Several Practitioners and Detain Them at a Brainwashing Center

53. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Mr. Sheng Bin Being Held in the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center

Police arrested Mr. Sheng Bin, an employee from the Jinan City Steel Company, and put him in the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center in Jinan City.

54. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yaoguo Arrested

Personnel from the Laizhou City 610 Office and from the Jincheng Town Police Department arrested Mr. Li Yaoguo and put him in a detention center at 2:00 p.m. on May 5, 2008. They also ransacked his home and confiscated some Dafa books.

55. [Tianjin] Mr. Ji Yuexing Forced to Live Away from Home

Personnel from the Langfang City Police Department and from the 610 Office broke into Mr. Ji Yuexing's home and ransacked the place on the afternoon of January 31, 2008 in his absence. Police arrested his wife and released her that night.

Personnel from the Baigutun Township Police Station daily harassed Mr. Ji's family. They confiscated a satellite dish. Mr. Li is now forced to live away from home to avoid arrest.

56. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jiang Zhi Arrested

Personnel from the Fujiang Township Police Station arrested Mr. Jiang Zhi and put him in the Bayan County Detention Center on May 6, 2008.

57. [Shanghai] Persecution of Qiu Xiaomin

Personnel from the Zhabei District in Wuhan City arrested Mr. Qiu Xiaomin and confiscated a computer, a printer and some truth-clarifying materials on the morning of April 29, 2008.

58. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Shigang Arrested

Mr. Li Shigang was arrested and his home was ransacked on April 22, 2008. Police also confiscated a satellite TV receiver and a TV set.

59. [Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Dai Liqiang, Mr. Xiaohe from Qiandongnan and Mr. Xiaotian from Dujun City of Qiannan were arrested on the morning of April 24, 2008.

60. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Changqin's Whereabouts are Unknown

Ms. Zhang Changqin from Daoxiang Village, Shushan District, Hefei City was arrested on April 25, 2008. Her son was left at home without care.

Ms. Zhang is an accountant in the Meishan Restaurant in Hefei City. She had been put into brainwashing centers twice, in 2006 and 2007.

61. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qiao Baoyang Arrested

Police arrested 38-year-old Ms. Qiao Baoyang, a teacher from the Binzhou City No.4 Middle School, at 9:00 a.m. on May 6, 2008. Policeman Shang Wenhao had arrested Ms. Qiao before, on March 1, 2008.
