Mr. Yang Jinhan, 34 years old, from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, began to practice Falun Dafa in 1999. He benefited physically and mentally.
On May 23, 2007, he tore down a display board that slandered Falun Gong from the entrance of No. 3 Meicang Street, Zhongyuan District, Zhengzhou City. He was falsely accused by the Fengherili community chief and interrogated by policemen Li Hongbin and Guo Zhanpeng of Tongbo Road Police Station. Other officers involved included Li Lei and trainee Xiao Ma. Li Hongbin and Guo Zhanpeng searched Mr. Yang's home without a search warrent. They locked him in Zhongyuan Public Security Sub-bureau Detention Center that same night and detained him for 12 days. On the night of the 11th day, they announced that Yang Jinhan would be sent to Baimiao Forced Labor Camp on the following day, June 5.
Mr. Yang protested the illegal sentence. He refused to wear a prisoner's uniform or follow the rules of brigade No. 3 of Baimiao Forced Labor Camp. When Chen Huihua of the 610 Office in the forced labor camp proposed "transformation," Yang Jinhan didn't cooperate. He was handcuffed behind his back and tortured by police officer Qi Weimin, Chief Wang, and police officer Su with three electric batons. Yang Jinhan was detained in brigade No. 3 and forced to perform slave labor for an average of over 14 hours each day. He was beaten, cursed, and insulted by monitoring prisoners Wang Tao, age 20, from Harbin and Shen Yutian from Zhoukou. The tyrannical warden often made the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners do the heavy labor.
At the end of August, Mr. Yang was transferred from brigade No. 3 to No. 2, where it was normal to work over 12 hours a day. Due to his weak physical condition, Mr. Yang refused to work. He was tortured with an electric baton and hit with a board by the head warden. At the end of October, the police again tried to "transform" him. Policeman Lu Shuangfu began the brainwashing (Lu was the provincial level brainwashing expert). When Yang Jinhan tried to reason with him, Lu tortured Mr. Yang with an electric baton and tried to force him to write a guarantee statement and a "criticizing statement" denouncing his belief. The cooperating police officers were Zheng Kai and Liu Wei. In Lu's office, Zheng Kai tortured Mr. Yang with an electric baton. Lu forced him to read a criticizing statement written by others that slandered Falun Gong. Yang Jinhan became mentally disordered and smashed his head against the wall due to the torment. He was taken to Meitan Hospital, where he was given several injections.
Yang Jinhan has been forced to perform labor for over 12 hours a day. Prisoner Wei Daping continuously threatened, beat, and insulted him. Wei Daping from Wanhua District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, born in 1959, monitored Falun Gong practitioners Luo Shaocai, Wang Lei, and Yang Jinhan. Luo Shaocai was forced to injure himself. Wei Daping was very powerful and, along with others, often tortured him half to death.
Surrounded by horrible conditions and forced to do hard labor, Yang Jinhan's health became extremely poor. He walked very slowly and his entire body shook when he sat at the work table. He was on the verge of a mental collapse; his head was swollen and he often did not speak rationally. Before his release, officers Liu and Chen of the 610 Office in the forced labor camp forced Mr. Yang to promise that he would not practice after his release. If he did not comply, his term would be extended and he wouldn't be released.
On May 23, 2008, Zhengzhou City Communist Party officer Xing Jianjun (female), Zhongyuan District Politics and Judiciary Committee officer Zhou, and 610 Office official Xue Yang took Yang Jinhan away from the Baimiao Forced Labor Camp 610 Office. CCP official Xing Jianjun took him to the Tongbo Road Comprehensive Office (an organization created especially to persecutes Falun Gong practitioners), led by Qiao and accompanied by two men surnamed Zhou and Xue. Xing Jianjun and Li Hongbin wanted Mr. Yang to say he was "not practicing" in front of everybody. Then Li Hongbin forced him to leave his palm and fingerprints and write a "future plan." Xing Jianjun and Li Hongbin claimed they wanted to conduct "thought communication" with Yang Jinhan once every month (in order to control his mind). Zhou and Xue of Zhongyuan District later found the elder brother of Yang Jinhan and asked for a guarantee and assurance, otherwise he would be implicated as well.
Yang Jinhan has repeatedly declared the so-called guarantee statement he wrote was done under duress and is not valid. He also urges the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong to seek justice for him.
