At around 8:00 p.m. on July 19, 2008, Mr. Wu Jiming, 68, was turned in to the police while distributing truth-clarification DVDs. Four officers took him to the Zhujiang Road Police Station. Later the officers lied to his family while knocking on their door. When they got in their home, they took two Falun Dafa books, an address book, copies of recent articles published by the founder of Falun Gong, and paper bills with truth-clarification content written on them. Mr. Wu returned home at 3:00 a.m. on July 20.

On May 10, 2008, Ms. Li Guangping, 53, was taken to the detention center by Huang Lin (male), director of the 610 Office; Zeng Chaoyang (male), head of the Domestic Security Division; and a dozen police officers. The police also searched her home in Hongjiang Old District and confiscated her computer, printer, satellite TV receiver, television set, paper cutter, blank DVDs, and Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials. The police also took into custody her husband, their son, and their daughter-in-law, releasing them after unlawful interrogations.

6. [Sichuan Province] Recent Situation of Practitioners in Weiyuan County

Ms. Zhang Zhijun, 64, lives in Group 1 of Qiaoli Village, Yanling Town, Weiyuan County. At around 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2008, she was taken into custody by Guan Shuigao (male), the village Party Secretary; Dong Zhiwei (male), head of the village; Zhang Bing (male) of the Chengnan Police Station; and another person.

On July 21, a dozen or so police officers from the Yanling Town Police Station in Weiyuan County arrived at Ms. Tan Fengqin's home. They deceived Ms. Tan while knocking on the door and took her into custody after getting inside.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Situation of Ms. Ju Guiying

Since July 20, 1999, Ms. Ju Guiying has been harassed and mentally abused by local police officers on numerous occasions. In 2002, she was taken into custody and then forced to leave her hometown of Erpengdianzi Town in Huanren County, Benxi City. In July 2003, she was unlawfully taken into custody again and held at the Weiningying Forced Labor Camp in Benxi City for brainwashing and physical torture. She was also force-fed and subsequently taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in handcuffs. She was tortured at the Masanjia Labor Camp with her hands and feet roped together. She was kicked, punched, deprived of sleep, and lifted off the ground in handcuffs. Her term was extended by six months, during which she suffered extensive mental and physical abuse.

9. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Shuzhen Unlawfully Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Li Shuzhen and two other practitioners in Huanren County, Benxi City were sentenced to three years of forced labor for clarifying the truth. They were verbally abused and locked in a small cell.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Huo Defu Taken into Custody

Mr. Huo Defu lives at the No. 3 Daxin Residential Village on Cailuo Street in Shenbei New District, Shenyang City. At 5:00 a.m. on July 21, officers from the Cailuo Police Station took him into custody. The police also confiscated a computer, a printer and other items.

On the morning of July 22, Ms. Liu Shaolan was taken into custody by Wu Jianguo (male) and two other officers from the Guanshan Police Station. Ms. Liu's husband was also taken into custody. The officers confiscated a television set, a DVD burner, and DVDs. Ms. Liu's husband has been released.

12. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Two Practitioners Taken into Custody by 610 Office

At around 9:00 p.m. on July 10, Ms. Liu Yaling and Ms. Tang were taken into custody by agents of the 610 Office while distributing truth-clarification materials in a public square in Jinning County, Kunming City. Ms. Liu, in her thirties, is a former employee of the now-bankrupt local tire plant. Ms. Tang, in her thirties as well, is an employee of the Kunyang Phosphorus Mine. Their whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Beijing] Additional Information on Mr. Yan's Detention

Mr. Yan Kezhong, a practitioner in the Yanqing area in Beijing, was taken into custody on April 19, 2008. After being unlawfully held at the Yanqing Detention Center for 50 days, Mr. Yan was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was taken to the Beijing Forced Labor Dispatch Center, where his family has been denied visitation.

On July 19, 2008, Ms. Cui Junfang and her daughter were taken into custody. Afterwards, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 20, Li Jiangang (male), the county commissioner; Guo Qiang (male), the county police chief; and twenty or so officers arrived at Shenzhixiao Village in Wencheng Township. In the village, they took into custody Ms. Wang Cangyan, her younger sister Ms. Wang Xiaoping, Ms. Xu Xiuyan, and Mr. Ji Jinrong. The officers then went to Wencheng Village and took into custody Mr. Wang Cangqi. They confiscated Mr. Wang's Falun Dafa books, satellite television receiver, and an unknown amount of cash.

The police took his bicycle and over 200 copies of truth-clarification materials. At around 6:00 p.m. they arrived at Mr. Lu's home. They took pictures, ransacked the place, and confiscated a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong and two calendars with Falun Dafa content.

At around 8:30 a.m. on July 23, 2008, Ms. Chen Maohua had just walked out of her home in Zengcheng City when Lai Bosheng (male), Qiu Xianyang (male), and a half dozen other people who had been waiting for her rushed to grab her. Ms. Chen is now being unlawfully held at the Guangzhou City Legal School.

Officers from the local police station took her into custody. Ms. Yin is being held at the Longhua Detention Center.

On the morning of July 17, Mr. Yu Zhuhai and his colleague Ms. Cui Zhenying were taken into custody on their way to work by officials from the Hanmaying Town Government.

25. [Beijing] Mr. Shi Qingwen Taken into Custody on July 18; His Home Searched

On the morning of July 22, 2008, domestic security officers in Kaijiang County and agents of the 610 Office arrived at Ms. Liu Mingying's home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and took home appliances. At noon, the officers took Ms. Liu, her husband Mr. Li Bending, and their son Mr. Li Rui (who is not a practitioner) to the county police department. That afternoon, the police went to search Ms. Hu Cui's home in the Pu'an area in Kaijiang County. Ms. Hu was taken into custody. The officers then took Falun Dafa books from Ms. Wu Zongzhen's home and took her to the county police department. Ms. Hu was released the same evening. Others were taken to the Kaijiang Detention Center on July 23.

Ms. Li Xin lives in Tonggouzi Village in Chengguan Town, Baodi District, Tianjin. On the afternoon of July 22, the police took her into custody. The officers then searched her home. They confiscated a computer, two printers, and some Falun Dafa books. Ms. Li's whereabouts are unknown.

29. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Police Search Mr. Yan Weiwu's Home

On July 20, 2008, Xu Jiangzhou (male), director of the Niangniangmiao Township Police Station in Jianchang County, Huludao City; Zhang Haiming (male), political instructor of the police station; and Liang Ying (gender unknown), a village head, arrived at Mr. Yan Weiwu's home in the township using the upcoming Olympic Games as an excuse for their intrusion. They took several Falun Dafa books. Mr. Yan managed to escape. He has been forced to stay out of town with nowhere to live.

30. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Mei Taken into Custody

On July 21, 2008, Ms. Gao Mei, who lives in Kenli County, Dongying City, was taken into custody by the Binhai Police Department in Xicheng District. Ms. Gao was held at the Binhai Police Department before being transferred to the Kenli County Detention Center. On the morning of July 23, the police searched Ms. Gao's home.

31. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Lianfeng Unlawfully Detained

On July 19, officers from the Shuncheng District Domestic Security Division broke into the home of Ms. Wang Lianfeng, who is retired from the Newspaper Agency of the No. 2 Petroleum Plant in Fushun City. The officers confiscated a large number of books, a computer, and a printer. They detained Ms. Wang at the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.

32. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Mr. Han Shengyu Taken into Custody

Mr. Han Shengyu, 77, lives in Hanjia Village in the Ershilipu area in Jinzhou District, Dalian City. He was turned in to the authorities while clarifying the truth at a farmer's market on July 23. Officers from the Ershilipu Police Station took him to the police station and searched his home.

33. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Li Taken to Forced Labor Camp

At around 7:00 a.m. on July 2, 2008, four officers from the Heping Police Station took Ms. Yang Li, who works at the Chaoyang Elementary School in Wanghua District, to the police station. The officers then searched her home and confiscated a computer used by her child. A full day later, Ms. Yang was transferred to the Nangou Detention Center. She has been taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term.

At around 5:00 p.m. on July 22, Ms. Cai Yuhua was taken into custody at her home. Ms. Fang Jiumei, a practitioner who happened to be at Ms. Cai's home, was also taken into custody.

35. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tian Guihua Taken into Custody

At around 11:00 a.m. on July 9, 2008, several police officers broke into Ms. Tian Guihua's home on Mingde South Street and took her into custody. It has been reported that Ms. Tian is held at the Zhangjiakou Forced Labor Camp.

On or around July 16, 2008, three practitioners (Ms. Lu Aimin, Ms. Cao Fengying, and an unknown male practitioner) in Kangbao County were reportedly taken to a detention center in Zhangjiakou City.

36. [Wuhan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Lianhi Taken into Custody at Home

Ms. Feng Lianhua, 53, was taken from her home by Ziyang Street Police Station officers and officials of the Qiyimen Residential police. Ms. Feng's whereabouts remain unknown.

37. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Additional Information on Mr. Yang Shengli and His Wife Ms. Sun Mingrong

On the evening of July 12, the police took into custody Mr. Yang Shengli and his wife Ms. Sun Mingrong in Taoyuan Village, Datai Township. Mr. Yang and Ms. Sun are both teachers at the Datai Middle School. The police took 40,000 to 50,000 yuan in cash from their home. Mr. Yang and Ms. Sun have both been held at the Internal Medicine Department of the Fuping County Hospital for infusion. Their lives are in danger. Police officers and officials from the education commission have been assigned to keep surveillance on the couple at all times.

38. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Jing Taken into Police Custody

At 9:00 p.m. on July 21, officers from the Yingsheng Police Station in Tai'an City broke into Ms. Gu Jing's home. They took her to the Yingsheng Police Station. The officers confiscated truth-clarification materials, Falun Dafa books, and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong while unlawfully searching Ms. Gu's home. Ms. Guo was released after 4:00 p.m. the next day (July 22) only after the police extorted 3,000 yuan from her family.

39. [Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Wu Maihong and Mr. Shao Xiaoshan Unlawfully Detained

On July 21, 2008, Ms. Wu Maihong was taken into custody when she was deceived into stepping out of her home. Ms. Wu Maihong has reportedly been held out of town. On the same day, Mr. Shao Xiaoshan was taken into custody at his home and unlawfully placed in detention.

40. [Hebei Province] Ms. Teng Sufen, Employee of Shijiazhuang Automobile Manufacturing Plant, Taken into Custody at around 3:00 p.m. on July 13

41. [Luotian County, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Ping Unlawfully Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Ping, an employee of the Health and Environment Agency of the City Planning Department of Luotian County, has been held at the Luotian County No. 1 Detention Center since early July 2007 for clarifying the truth. At the end of September 2007, Ms. Li was taken to the Hubei Province Legal Brainwashing Center. She was there for three or four days and released on poor health. She returned to Luotian County.

At the end of April 2008, Ms. Li was unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison by the Luotian County Court with no evidence. She was formally arrested a few days later. On or around June 25, the Huanggang City Intermediate People's Court secretly sentenced her to four years in prison. On June 30, when Ms. Li was taken to the women's prison, the prison authorities refused to take her in. She was held at the Luotian County No. 1 Detention Center. On July 4, she was again taken to the women's prison.

42. [Yizhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Di Meirong Taken into Police Custody

At noon on July 27, Ms. Di Meirong, a practitioner in Yifu District, Yizhou City, was turned in for clarifying the truth. Local police officers took her into custody. The officers searched her home the same evening. This is the third time Ms. Di has been taken into custody. She was either taken to the labor camp or the prison on the two earlier occasions she was arrested.

At around 8:00 a.m. on July 30, Ms. Lu Yun, a practitioner in Yifu District, Yizhou City, was taken by the police from the Qicun Rehabilitation Center, where she works. The police searched her home at around 2:00 p.m. the same afternoon.

43. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gu Lijun Sentenced to Forced Labor

At around 3:00 p.m. on July 23, 2008, Mr. Gu Lijun was taken into custody by border patrol officers in the Daqinghe area at the salt mine in the Daqinghe area in Leting County, Tangshan City. It has been reported that Mr. Gu was taken to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term on July 24.

44. [Benxi County, Liaoning Province] Numerous Practitioners Harassed

On the evening of July 9, 2008, several police officers from the Huanren County Police Department and the Erpengdianzi Town Police Station besieged Ms. Fan Jingzhi's home. The officers broke in and took Ms. Fan to the Huanren County Detention Center, where she has remained in custody. Her father suffered a recurrence of a heart attack as result of being intimidated by the police.

On the evening of July 16, half a dozen officers from the Erpengdianzi Town Police Station broke into Ms. Zhao Xueqin's home. They stayed there overnight and left the next morning when Ms. Zhao did not return home.

On or around July 16, several police officers from Huanren County pretended to be collecting water bills. When Mr. Chang Xianlu opened the door, they rushed in and unlawfully searched his home.

45. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Du Yufen Taken into Custody

At around 3:00 p.m. on July 19, 2008, Ms. Du Yufen, from Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, was taken into custody by nine police officers in the store she operated. She was taken to the Qiaokou Police Station before being transferred to the Yongqing Street Police Station. Ms. Du is now being held at the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center.

46. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Taken into Custody

At around 8:00 p.m. on July 19, 2008, Ms. Zhang Suchun, Ms. Zhao Caiyun and Ms. Zhang Yulan, in Liangkeshu Village in Xinxing Town, Dawa County, Panjin City, were studying the Fa at Mr. Li Yi's home when officers from the Xinxing Town Police Station suddenly broke in. The officers confiscated their Falun Dafa books and a satellite television receiver for viewing programs from NTDTV. Mr. Li was taken into custody.

At around 8:00 a.m. on July 20, the officers arrived at Liangkeshu Village and took into custody Ms. Zhang Suchun, Ms. Zhao Caiyun and Ms. Zhang Yulan.

47. [Hebei Province] Unlawful Acts Committed by Kuancheng County Police in June

At 1:00 p.m. on June 17, 2008, Cao Fengzhi (male), an officer of the Kuancheng County 610 Office; Wang Jinggang (male), of the Dazhuzi Township Political and Judiciary Committee; and other officers broke into Ms. Liu Shuge's home in Xiliyuan Village. They confiscated a television receiver and took Mr. Liu into custody.

On the afternoon of June 18, Cao Fengzhi again led county domestic security officers to Xiliyuan Village, Dongliyuan Village, and Kongjiagou Village. They confiscated television receivers and satellite dishes from the homes of Ms. Bai Cuihua, Ms. Shi Feng'e, Zhou Xiuyun, Ms. Kong Yuqin and Ms. Guo Yurong. Ms. Bai Cuihua's husband was unlawfully taken into custody.

On June 26, Cao Fengzhi and other officers went to Xiliyuan Village to force practitioners to provide fingerprints and order them not to leave home.

50. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chai Shuzhen and Ms. Gao Fengzhi Taken into Custody by Plainclothes Police

On the morning of July 21, Ms. Chai Shuzhen and Ms. Gao Fengzhi from the Qianxi area in Tangshan City were taken into custody by plainclothes police officers while clarifying the truth in Lixiang Square. Their whereabouts are unknown.

51. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Jianjun Taken into Custody

Mr. Wu Jianjun, from Daowai District, Harbin City, was turned in to the authorities on the evening of July 6 while distributing truth-clarification materials. Officers from the Taigu Police Station took him into custody. Mr. Wu is being held at the Yaziquan Detention Center.

52. [Wuyi County, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Gong Gongmin Held at Wuyi County Detention Center after Being Taken into Custody

On June 11, 2008, Mr. Gong Gongmin was taken into custody. He is being held at the Wuyi County Detention Center.

The following practitioners in Wuyi County are being persecuted: Mr. Gong Gongmin, Mr. Zhu Hongzhen (already sentenced to three years in prison), Ms. Zheng Weihong, and Mr. Zhou Lianghua (returned home after his term ended but could not find a job).
