The ten-day festival is the largest local event every year. According to Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Ekka this year has been the busiest since 1988. The number of visitors broke the record in the past twenty years. Falun Gong practitioners gave performances on the main stages of RNA Showgrounds, International Village and Wool Pavilion. They demonstrated Falun Gong exercises to crowds of people. They also shared their well-prepared lion dance and traditional Chinese dance.
During the demonstration, Australian Falun Gong practitioner Nina talked about the exercises, sharing her own experience of benefiting from Falun Gong during her pregnancy. She encouraged people to learn Falun Gong. The practitioners also exposed the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of practitioners in China. Many people listened carefully and took materials to read.
Falun Gong practitioners Karen and Lorna have given dance performances in the past three Ekka. The traditional Chinese culture is profound and rich. The practitioners wanted to share it with the Australian people through their dance "Flower Fairy", "Fan Dance and "Xinjiang Spirit."
Because of Falun Gong group's popularity, the stage time given to them kept increasing each year for the past three Ekka. Thus, more and more people were given an opportunity to learn about the ancient Eastern Buddha-school cultivation practice of Falun Dafa.
