1. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody
On July 30, 2008, the Miyi County police unlawfully searched practitioners' homes. The following practitioners were taken into custody: Ms. Yu Lan and her husband Mr. Yang Fuzhong, Ms. Cai Huilian, and Ms. Song Xuemei in the Xiaojie area; Mr. Yang Shunfa and Ms. Yang Xingmei in Qingpi Village in Panlian Town; and Ms. Peng Qionglian in the downtown area. They are being held at the Panlian Town Brainwashing Center. Ms. Cai Huilian shouted "Falun Dafa is great!" so the officers tied up her hands with ropes and shoved a towel in her mouth while putting her into the car.
2. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chang Guiyun and Other Practitioners Receive Heavy Sentences
On July 29, 2008, the Jiaohe City Court took practitioners to the courtroom again to announce heavy sentencing. Ms. Chang Guiyun is to serve eight years in prison, Ms. Shi Xiuzhen to serve seven years; Mr. Liu Baochun to serve five years, Ms. Zhang Min to serve four years, and Mr. Pang Shuwen to serve three years.
At 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on July 16, Mr. Liu Jiang and Mr. Liu Zhenhua were unlawfully placed on trial.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Xiaorong, a Practitioner Around 40 Years Old, Taken into Custody on July 30

Between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on July 30, 2008, at least eight plainclothes police officers from the Wending Domestic Security Division forced Ms. Zhang Yingmiao into a police vehicle and carried her off while she was weeding the farm fields. Ms. Zhang is being held at the Zhangjiachan Police Station. Earlier, the police searched Ms. Zhang's home on June 4.

5. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xing Mingfeng and Ms. Wu Xiurong Taken into Custody by Domestic Security Police
On the morning of July 30, 2008, Mr. Xing Mingfeng and Ms. Wu Xiurong from Chengguan Town in Suning County were taken into custody for clarifying the truth by Zhang Ruiqiang (male), head of the Domestic Security Division and other officers. Their homes were searched. The two practitioners are being held at the Xian County Detention Center.
6. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Police in Wangliang Town Harass Practitioners
Since the spring of 2008, the Wanliang Town Police Department in Fusong County, Baishan City, Jilin Province used "safeguarding the Olympics" as an excuse to unlawfully search practitioners' homes and interrogate and otherwise harass the practitioners. In the first ten days of July, a dozen practitioners were harassed.
On July 1, Li Wei (male) and four other police officers from the Wanliang Police Department ransacked Ms. Xu Zhenying's home, confiscated her Falun Dafa books and took her into custody. Ms. Xu's husband defended her and strongly protested. The same afternoon, Ms. Xu walked out of the police department. That same day, the police also unlawfully searched Mr. Wang Guangsen and Mr. Xu Gonghai's homes and confiscated several Falun Dafa books.
On the evening of July 21, officers from the Wanliang Police Department unlawfully searched the homes of Mr. Li Mochi, Mr. Xu Gongwei, and Mr. Wang Guangcan in Beishan Village, Wanliang Town. Practitioners' families were harassed. The police confiscated some Falun Dafa books but were not able to take anyone into custody.
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 79-Year-Old Ms. Zhao Guiyun Faces Unlawful Trial
At around 7:30 p.m. on July 18, 2008, Ms. Zhao Guiyun, 79, in Tiexi District, was taken to the Xingqi Police Station in Shenyang City. The police then broke into her home and confiscated a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, some Falun Dafa books, cash, and deposit receipts worth over 4,000 yuan.
On July 28, the police lied to Ms. Zhao Guiyun while taking her to the Shenyang City Procuratorate for unlawful inquiry, where Ms. Zhao was ordered to hire a defense attorney to attend a pending trial at the Tiexi District Court in Shenyang City.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guiling and Ms. Sun Qiaoling Taken into Custody from Home
At 7:00 a.m. on July 31, Ms. Sun Guiling and Ms. Sun Qiaoling were arrested at their home and taken into custody by officers from the the Minzhuqiao Police Station in Lushun City and from the Dengfeng Street Police Station in Lushun City. The two practitioners have been taken out of town. They have been unlawfully taken into custody numerous times.

On July 27, 2008, officers from the Shenze County Police Department and from the Zhaoba Township Police Station forcibly took into custody Mr. Xu Rong'en from his younger sister's home in Lu Village. Mr. Xu is being held at the Shenze County Detention Center.
On the same day, this group of officers arrived at Ms. Ruying's home in Nanzhaoba Village. They took a computer that Ms. Ruying's son bought when he got married. The police also took a printer, Falun Dafa books, and a large amount of Ms. Ruying's personal belongings.
11. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Seventeen Practitioners Taken into Custody
At 1:00 p.m. on July 31, 2008, in an empty room within the Fuxing Commercial Compound in Shuiji No. 3 Residential Community in Laixi City, seventeen practitioners were taken into custody by officers from the Qingdao Road Police Station. These practitioners included Elderly Tian, Elderly Dai, Ms. Wu Jianfang, Ms. Chen Yufen, Ms. Zhu Lixin, and Mr. Liu Jingquan.
At 7:00 p.m. officers from the Qingdao Road Police Station took into custody Ms. Wu Xiuxin, a physician at the Laixi City People's Hospital. The police also searched the homes of practitioners in custody. The practitioners are being held at the Qingdao Road Police Station in Laixi City.
12. [Beijing] Ms. Zhou Guirong and Ms. Liu Yuzhen's Whereabouts Remain Unknown
Ms. Zhou Guirong and Ms. Liu Yuzhen, elderly practitioners who live in the Qinghe area in Haidian District, Beijing, were taken into custody around July 17 by the state security police and officers from the Domestic Security Division of Haidian Police Department. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

On the afternoon of July 30, Zhou Jian (male) and other officers from the Fangzhuang Township Police Station in Gucheng County broke into the homes of Mr. Wu Shupai and Ms. Shen Yingchun. The two practitioners were taken to the local police station and held there overnight. On the morning of July 31 they were taken to the Gucheng County Detention Center.
15. [Haiyan City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zheng Yan Possibly Held in Detention Center After Being Taken into Custody on July 25
16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dong Jianquan and Ms. Wu Xiuling Taken into Police Custody
At around 8:00 a.m. on July 30, officers from the Yinfeng Police Station in Fengnan District, Tangshan City went to Mr. Dong Jianquan's home in Dazhuangzi Village, Xugezhuang Town. Mr. Dong was taken to the Xugezhuang Detention Center. His wife, also a practitioner, has been forced to leave town.
On the same day, Ms. Wu Xiuling in Taipingzhuang Village in Huanggezhuang Town was also taken into custody by the police.
17. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Liang and Mr. Huang Lizhong Unlawfully Held in Custody
Mr. Zhao Liang and Mr. Huang Lizhong from Huludao City had been held at the Jinzhou Prison for 36 days. On July 23, they were transferred to the Xinsheng Prison in Panjin City. Mr. Zhao is held in the No. 4 Ward, and Mr. Huang is held in the No. 5 Ward.
18. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Yufeng and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody
On the morning of July 30, Ms. Lu Yufeng and Ms. Bai Yuhua were turned in to the police while clarifying the truth in the Xiaoxiangou area in Longgang District. Officers from the Dongjie Police Station took them into custody. Ms. Bai has since been released. Ms. Lu was possibly transferred to the Suizhong Detention Center.
On July 31, Mr. Jiang Zhongxun was taken into custody at work. His computer at home was confiscated.
19. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Dianjun Taken into Custody
On the morning of July 31, 2008, officers from the Hongtun Township broke into Ms. Yu Dianjun's home in the Jiangyu Forest Fields in Hongtun Township. Ms. Yu, in her fifties, was taken into custody.

At around 5:00 p.m. on July 11, the police searched the home of Mr. Zhang Shengchun and his wife Ms. Zhang Baoxiang in Magezhuang, Sanpo Town, Laishui County. The two practitioners were taken to the Laishui County Detention Center.
Their two sons were unlawfully arrested by the Dongcheng District Police Department in Beijing in April 2008. They were subsequently unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor and taken to the Beiqijia Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province. All four members of Mr. Zhang's family have lost their freedom.
23. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Jinying Unlawfully Detained; Her Home Searched
On the early evening of July 27, members of the Changyi City 610 Office and officers from the Beimeng Police Station unlawfully searched Mr. Sun Jianrong's home in Zhongli Village, Beimeng Town. The police confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, issues of a weekly publication, and a bag of truth-clarification materials. The police took Mr. Sun's wife Ms. Du Jinying (also a practitioner) into custody. Ms. Du is detained at the Changyi Detention Center.
24. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Tian Fuzhong Forced to Leave Town
On the morning of July 30, leaders of the Baoding Electric Supply Department led several members of the 610 Office to Mr. Tian Fuzhong's home. They threatened to take his son into custody in order to force him to provide details on how he exposed the persecution on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). Mr. Tian had to leave town in order to avoid further harassment.

Ms. Li Guangbo, 34, is a proprietor in Xinzhan Town, Zhaoyuan County, Daqing City. At around 11:30 a.m. on July 26, 2008, she was taken into custody by officers from the Daqing City Domestic Security Division. The police confiscated some books, truth-clarification materials, brochures, a computer, memory sticks, DVDs, and seals. Ms. Li is being held at the Zhaoyuan County Detention Center.

Five practitioners in Nanlingao Village, Liucheng Town, Chaoyang County were taken into custody during a group Fa-study session at noon on July 30. They are Ms. Gao Yanshuang, Ms. Ma Suqin, Ms. Qian Jilan, Ms. Zhang Baohua, and Ms. Li Xiurong. Officers from the county police department and the town police station searched the practitioners' homes. Ms. Gao Yanshuang's computer was confiscated.
28. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Suihai Remains Missing
In mid-May 2008, Mr. Wang Suihai, an employee of the Luoyang Fire Resistance Factory, went out on business. He went missing before leaving Luoyang City. His whereabouts remain unknown.
29. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fan Zhenguo Taken into Custody
Mr. Fang Zhenguo, in his forties, from Sanjiazi Township, Lingyuan City, was taken into custody by the Sanjiazi Township Police Station at around 11:00 a.m. on July 31.
30. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Guiquan's Entire Family Taken into Police Custody
On July 30, 2008, officers from the Jiangyuan District Domestic Security Division and those from a police station affiliated with the Wangou Police Department in Baishan City took Mr. Yu Guiquan into custody at a clock store. The officers then took into custody his wife Ms. Liu Xiumei and their son Mr. Yu Lei at their home. The three practitioners are being held at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Ms. Tao scolded the police for their unlawful acts and was thrown into the trunk of a police car.

34. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Gong Taken to Brainwashing Center; His Wife Taken as Well for Speaking Out on Behalf of Falun Dafa
Mr. Zhang Gong, 45, lives in the No. 8 Section of the Pangjiabao area in Zhangjiakou City. On July 25, he was taken from his home to the Xuangang Brainwashing Center. His wife Ms. Shi Fengxian spoke out on behalf of Falun Dafa. Officials lied to her and also held her in custody at the brainwashing center. Mr. Zhang's father, who is 84 years old, has been left in a hospital, unattended, suffering from a stroke.
35. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Qingtao Taken Away at the End of His Forced Labor Term
Mr. Liu Qingtao, from Jinzhou District, Dalian City, was unlawfully taken to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year term. His term was supposed to end on August 1. However, Mr. Liu was taken away by taken by a police vehicle with the plate number "Liao-O 1030" from the Jinzhou District 610 Office.

Ms. Liu Huilan, 57, was turned in to the police when clarifying the truth in the Boyi mountain area in November 2006. State security police officers took her to a detention center. A month later, she was taken to the Dabanqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Kunming City, Yunnan Province to serve a two-year term. Ms. Liu suffered symptoms of a mental collapse due to abuse she received there. In July 2008, she was sent to a hospital, but her condition did not improve. Her family was notified to take her back home. Ms. Liu Hulan remains under police surveillance.

On July 29, 2008, Mr. Yan Zhijun in Fulin Township, Tonghe County, was taken into custody by officers from the Tonghe County Police Department and from the Fulin Township Police Station. The officers searched Mr. Yan's home and confiscated a computer and a printer.
On the same evening, Ms. Chen Shoumei, who lives on Qianjin Street in Tonghe Town, was taken into custody by the Tonghe County Police Department. The police searched her home and confiscated two computers and three printers.
On the afternoon of July 30, Mr. Zheng Yulin in Tonghe Town, Tonghe County was taken into custody. The police searched his home.

On July 28, 2008, officers from the Chu'an Township Police Station in Renqiu City arrived at Ms. Cui Meifen's home in West Guxian Village in Chu'an Township to harass her. At 11:00 p.m. the following day, the officers showed up again to search her home and took her into custody. Ms. Cui is being held at the Renqiu City Detention Center.

On the evening of July 29, 2008, Mr. Wan Shuqing was turned in to the police while delivering truth-clarification materials to the Orchard Tree Plant in the Heijinhe area in Tangyuan County. Officers from the Tangyuan County Police Department took him into custody. Mr. Wan is being held at the Tangyuan County Detention Center. His motorcycle has been held at the Tangyuan County Police Department. Zhou Tiegang (male) led other officers to Mr. Wan's home to conduct an unlawful search. The officers threatened his family and his teenage child.

43. [Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Qing Severely Abused at Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City
In May 2008, Mr. Liu Qing, a practitioner in the Wujiazhan area in Fuyu County, Songyuan County, was taken into custody. He was held at the Fuyu County Detention Center, where he held a hunger strike to protest the unlawful detention. He has been unlawfully sentenced to 18 months of forced labor and taken to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province. His physical condition is extremely weak after he received severe abuse. The labor camp officials have rejected his family's request to visit him.

45. [Bo'ai County, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Huating Taken into Custody
On July 29, 2008, Ms. Wang Huating, from Jiufufen Village in Yueshan Town, Bo'ai County, was taken into custody by officers from the Yueshan Town Police Station and members of the 610 Office. Ms. Wang is being held at the county detention center.
46. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Bai Zhize Unlawfully Sentenced to Prison, Ms. Wu Fuxiang Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Mr. Bai Zhize is a technician at the No. 5715 Factory in Luoyang City. One evening before the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in the fall of 2007, the police officers who were monitoring him took him to the Mangshan Detention Center. His family was not allowed to visit him. Mr. Bai became emaciated after eight months of torture and abuse. On July 8 (or possibly July 12), 2008, Mr. Bai was put on trial at the Xiqu Court and sentenced to three years in prison.
Ms. Wu Fuxiang lives in the family quarters of a government committee on Kaixuan Road. On July 26, staff of the residential community office deceived Ms. Wu and took her to a brainwashing center held by the Xigong District 610 Office at the Jiade Guest House.
47. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Situation of Ms. Bai Hanying
On the morning of July 31, Ms. Bai Hanying, a retired employee of the General Machinery Factory in Hanzhong City, was taken to a brainwashing center by officers of the Hanzhong Road Neighborhood Administration Office.
In 2000, Ms. Bai Hanying was taken to a brainwashing center. In March 2007, she was unlawfully sentenced to 19 months in a detention center. After six months of custody in Nanzheng County Detention Center, she was released after being forced to borrow and pay 4,000 yuan. In order to pay back this loan, Ms. Bai did odd jobs while living on a small amount of money. Her retirement compensation is only a few hundred yuan. Her daughter is still in the middle school and has been left home alone.
48. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guizhi Unlawfully Sentenced to Forced Labor
Ms. Li Guizhi from the Tiexi area in Anshan City has been sentenced to two years of forced labor. She has been taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Zhang Weixing was unlawfully taken into custody on July 20.

At around 6:00 p.m. on July 31, 2008, half a dozen police officers from the Chengfeng Police Department broke into Ms. Zhang Shuhua's home. Without presenting any identification, the officers searched her home, confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Chengfeng Police Department,

Ms. Gu Shurong lives in Chengzihe District, Jixi City. At around 10:00 a.m. on July 30, 2008, she was turned in to the police while clarifying the truth in the Xicaiyuanzi area in Chengzihe District. Chen Zhiwei (male) and other officers unlawfully took Ms. Gu into custody.
52. [Hunan Province] Mr. Yang Guangyan Taken into Custody by Zhongfang County 610 Office
At around 5:30 p.m. on July 29, 2008, Li Chengquan (male) and two other members of the Zhongfang County 610 Office took Mr. Yang Guangyan into custody at the Hexi Home Appliances Complex. Police also confiscated Mr. Yang's cellular phone.

On the morning of July 30, 2008, Ms. Wang Guizhen, Ms. Fan Shujuan and Ms. Sun Hongwei were taken into custody by officers from the Jiaxi Police Station while clarifying the truth. The officers searched the three practitioners' homes. The police refused to release the practitioners, without following any legal procedures, simply citing the Beijing Olympics as an excuse. The three practitioners were taken to the Jiamusi City Detention Center.

At around noon on July 25, 2008, officers from the Jingyan County in the Leshan area and agents from the 610 Office broke into Ms. Yu Birong's home to harass her. The officers confiscated all Falun Dafa books and weekly publications. Because of the firm demands of her family, Ms. Yu was not taken into custody.

On July 29, Ms. Deng Dongling was arrested at work in the Agriculture Department by the department head and members of the 610 Office. Ms. Deng has been taken to the Huanggang Prison in the Shaoguan area.
