On July 2, 2008, the 610 Office in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province and local police departments conducted another round of arrests of Falun Gong practitioners.
As the Beijing Olympic Games drew closer, the police in Tanghai County, Hebei Province intensified the persecution. Between June 10 and July 31, 2008, eleven local Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested.
Mr. Hu Heping had been arretsed a couple of times and suffered torture by the police for not giveing up his belief in Falun Gong. On March 18, 2008, he was arrested again. Having suffered torture in police custody, he never recovered from his injuries and died on August 7, 2008.
With the arrival of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, CCP authorities Dingzhou City, Hebei Province arrested Falun Gong practitioners.
Four brief examples of how practitioners have recently been treated by police in Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province.
After Ms Wang Haohong escaped from a brainwashing center where she had been imprisoned for over nine months, local officials seized her high school age son.
Ms. Liu Yurong and her sister were arrested for practicing Falun Gong. The local CCP authorities put her on trail.
Under the guise of protecting the 30-year anniversary of the Big Earthquake and the welcoming of Olympic torch relay, the police arrested over 20 Falun Gong practitioners.
