Ms. Hu Aiyun is a Falun Gong practitioner in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. She has been on hunger strike for three months in Heilongjiang Women's Prison, to protest the persecution. In response, she was brutally force-fed. Her health is now deteriorating rapidly and she is in critical condition.
In 2001, Ms. Hu was sentenced to two years of forced re-education through labor and detained in Wanjia Labor Camp. She went on a hunger strike to protest and was force-fed. Two years later she was released.
In 2003, Hu Aiyun was arrested again and received a heavy sentence of 11 years. In the past four years, she has suffered agonizing torture, both physically and mentally. She went on hunger strikes many times. In March 2008, Ms. Hu once again went on a hunger strike. When her family went to visit her, they found she was extremely weak and could not walk at all.
