Ms. Wen Cuiying and Ms. Wen Ruihua, both Falun Gong practitioners from Zunhua City, Hebei Province, were sentenced to one year of forced labor. On August 11, 2008, they were taken to Tangshan Kaiping Forced Labor Camp.
About 11:30 p.m. on July 6, 2008, more than ten police officers from Dongjiuzhai Township conspired with Zunhua City 610 Office personnel to force their way into the home of Wenzhuang Village residents Mr. Liu Changyou and his wife, Ms. Wen Cuiying. They searched the family's belongings for more than an hour. Then they took Mr. Liu and Ms. Wen Cuiyang to the Zunhua City Detention Center. Mr. Liu is still in the Zunhua Detention Center.
On the morning of July 7, 2008, four or five police officers went to Wenzhuang Village again and searched the home of Ms. Wen Ruihua. She had just returned from the rural fair. They searched all over her house, inside and out, including the shed. After the search, the police tried to arrest Ms. Wen. She believed that there was nothing wrong in being a good person and would not get in the car. Several officers manhandled her into the police vehicle.
Ms. Wen Ruihua's husband, a non-practitioner, questioned the police, "Is it your duty to force people to go with you when they haven't done anything wrong?" The officers then forced her husband into the police car. The village onlookers decried what the police were doing and pulled Ms. Wen's husband out of the car. This stand-off lasted more than two hours.
The police detained the 58-year-old Ms. Wen in a brainwashing session in the Xiguan Detention Center in Zunhua and mentally tortured her.
Ms. Wen lives in Wenzhuang Village, Dongjiuzhai Town, Zunhua City. She used to be very weak and had many diseases. After starting to practice Falun Dafa, she became much stronger; she takes Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as her standard of conduct and looks after the elderly with her sincere concern. She returns any money she finds and always selflessly helps others. People in her village praise her as a good person. Because she practices Falun Gong, she was detained once after 1999.
Today, Ms. Wen Ruihua, nearly 60, has now been arrested again and taken to a forced labor camp after being detained for a month. Her family, friends, and relatives, as well as kind villagers, worry greatly about her present situation, and issue an urgent appeal for her release! Release all the detained Falun Gong practitioners!
