(Clearwisdom.net) On July 26, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity in the city of Offenburg in southwest Germany, "clarifying the facts" about Falun Gong and calling for an end to the Chinese Communist regime's nine-year persecution of Falun Gong.

Offenburg is Germany's gateway to the Black Forest. It is not far from the French city of Strasbourg where the European Council and the European Parliament are located, separated only by the Rhine river.

The Falun Gong stand was set up at the Saturday market in the city center. Many people were out shopping on this beautiful day.

People were shocked by the nine-year-long brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), especially the CCP's atrocity of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and then cremating their bodies to destroy the evidence. Many people told practitioners that they had heard about the suppression of Falun Gong in China, but never thought the persecution could be so savage. After learning the facts, many people signed the petition calling for an immediate end to the persecution.

Several Chinese people also came to the practitioners' stand to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. Some announced their withdrawal from the CCP and its affiliated organisations on the spot. Practitioners met a group of Chinese students in the business street. Due to the negative propaganda spread by the CCP, they initially tried to avoid the practitioners when they learned they practiced Falun Gong. After a few words, however, they calmed down and started to listen to the practitioners' explanation. When they heard the truth, some of them were stunned while some were puzzled. Even students who initially said "I don't believe it" and refused to listen also started to listen. Afterwards some of them accepted the materials about Falun Gong. Some said goodbye in a friendly manner and some sincerely said to the practitioners, "Good luck."

People doing business near the stand were also pleased to accept materials given out by practitioners. There was a fabric store behind the stand. At the beginning the owner was unhappy because he thought the stand might affect his business. After practitioners told him about Falun Gong and the persecution, his attitude changed completely and told the practitioners not to worry. Opposite the stand was an Indian fast-food cart. The owner insisted on providing a free lunch to every practitioner. A female shop owner some distance away from the stand delivered a plateful of sweet melon to the practitioners and also insisted on giving practitioners bread.

Practitioners taking part in the activity said that more and more people are learning about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. Many people said to practitioners that the atrocities committed by the Chinese Communist regime are in brutal violation of human rights and indicate that the CCP is truly evil.
