(Clearwisdom.net) A new and unique bookstore opened in downtown Toronto's Chinatown on Labor Day weekend. It is the Tianti (Heavenly Ladder) Bookstore, which specializes in Falun Gong publications.
Many people have steered clear of Falun Gong in the wake of the propaganda it faced after the practice was banned by China's communist regime in 1999. Many were fooled by the false propaganda, and communist authorities have used every means at their disposal to to block people from learning the truth about Falun Gong, and the truth about the CCP's crushingly bloody repression.
At the onset of the persecution in July 1999, the communist regime immediately began to destroy Falun Gong books. The books describe the simple truth in words that everyone can understand. Falun Gong teaches people to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives. But if the people knew this, they would also know that the persecution was based on half-truths and lies - the propaganda would be clearly revealed as a curtain to hide the CCP's true devious intentions.
For example, the propaganda has repeatedly, falsely labeled practitioners as murderers; even worse, as a radical suicide cult. But if one takes a look at Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun (the book that presents the core teachings of the practice of Falun Gong), the following is very clearly stated: "The issue of killing is very sensitive. For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives." The founder of Falun Gong, Master Li Hongzhi, has explained this principle in great detail to his practitioners over the years.
But the CCP accuses practitioners of mass suicide and murder nevertheless, even staging massive propaganda stunts to deceive the public. Yet all one has to do to know that the CCP is lying is to read this one paragraph, particularly in light of the very essence of the teachings of Falun Gong - that practitioners should strive to live their lives in harmony with the characteristic of the universe itself - Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Another false claim frequently made by the propaganda is that Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to take medicine, and that by following such a practice, more than 1700 people died. This is one of the most convincing lies used to turn public sentiment against Falun Gong, and even to somehow "justify" the persecution in the minds of the Chinese people, as much as to suggest, "Well, they believe such crazy things, don't they deserve to be punished?"
But the fourth paragraph of the first lecture of Zhuan Falun says, "I do not talk about healing illness here, and neither will we heal illness." Lecture Seven contains two sections on this subject: "The Issue of Treating Illness" and "Hospital Treatment and Qigong Treatment." These sections discuss the root cause of disease in detail, and explain why a practitioner should not perform healing for others. Anyone who reads these explanations will come to learn that Falun Gong teaches people how to achieve ultimate health by following the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The CCP's claim that Falun Gong forbids medicine is a lie.
By banning Falun Gong books in China, and keeping the propaganda machine churning at full speed for so many years, many people in China have been deceived, duped into believing CCP lies. While many westerners may find this hard to believe, the truth is that many Chinese people around the world believe the CCP propaganda, because Chinese language media around the world all play the CCP tune, unbeknownst to westerners. Many Chinese believe that Falun Gong is banned around the world, when in fact this is true only in communist China. For these people, what an awakening they'll feel when they walk into Toronto's Tianti Bookstore and see all the Falun Gong books!
The first Tianti Bookstore opened in the New York City area last year. As more stores open in different places, the CCP's lies will have less of a market. The truth about the practice of Falun Gong will be more readily learned everywhere, and the absurdity of the persecution will be fully exposed, unable to sustain itself in the light of truth.
