Mr. Sun Yushan, 51 years old, is from Chengzihe Township, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. In April 1997, he began practicing Falun Gong and enjoyed its many benefits.
On March 16, 2006, Li Chong, a police officer from Zichenghe Township, State Security Division agents Li Gang and Gao Shitong broke into the home of Mr. & Mrs. Sun at 4:00 p.m.. The agents searched the place and took the couple to the police station.
In Mishan City Detention Center, Sun Yushan was brutally beaten by police and guards from the State Security Division. Zhao Chao, a judge from the Criminal Court of Mishan Court sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment. He was taken to Mudanjiang Prison where he was subjected to further abuse.
Mr. Sun was brutally beaten when he was in the prison. Then he was taken to a labor camp where he was forced to work for more than 10 hours a day. He was detained in Ward 9, then Ward 7, and Ward 17.
