(Clearwisdom.net) Fundraising advisor Tony Decarlo watched the 2008 Mid-Autumn Spectacular in Toronto under the invitation of Clement Rodrigo, a leader in the South Asian community in Toronto.

Mr. Decarlo works for the Canadian Securities Institute program for the financial industry. He helps his friend, a leader in the South Asian community, to collect donations. Under invitation, he watched the show. During intermission, he talked about the show, "Very elegant and the drumming was quite exciting. There was a lot of variety and color, quite peaceful. Very impressive, I didn't know what to expect. That soprano, when she hit those notes--oh my god. Great voice, I loved her voice. Beautiful. I don't usually like that kind of thing but she was fantastic."
He continued, "'The Risen Lotus Flower' was very powerful. I especially like the way they mixed the modern elements with the classical elements, it made a comparison between the two. The drums were very powerful and full of life.
"For the musical instrument erhu, I was surprised that she could get so much out of the two strings, a very unique sound. You wouldn't think you could do so much with two strings, but she was very good. It was lovely and quite unique and powerful.
"The show is very elegant and thought provoking. I don't know a lot about the history but it gives you a lot to think about. I want to learn more."
Mr. Rodrigo is from Sri Lanka and a leader in South Asian community in Toronto. He is also a human rights advocate. Mr. Rodrigo said he has heard a lot about Divine Performing Arts and thought the show was spectacular, "My friends and I all think the show is colorful. Everything is so beautiful, from the singing, to the dancing, to the music."
